Although I have not had experience with…

Although I have not had experience with this company but felt the need to express that I am really disappointed to see these negative reviews for this product. I was seriously considering buying this machine having been bombarded with adverts on Facebook. The concept of having a cocktail making machine in this way seems a good Idea but judging by the comments and the problems people have had, this product seems overrated and expensive with a poor selection of drinks. I noticed this when I was researching the product before contemplating buying. So unfortunately I will definitely not be buying it.

The negative reviews represent a very small sample size compared to the overall number of customers using and enjoying the system.
The UK currently has a smaller cocktail selection than the US market, which we understand may lead to some disappointment reflected in certain reviews. When we first launched in the US, we began with just six cocktails and have since expanded to more than 60 varieties.
Our UK launch is still comparatively recent, and we are continuing to grow the lineup. In October alone, we introduced four additional cocktail selections, two of which are exclusive to the UK market, with more planned moving forward.

Not good at all

Having owned one of these machines for over a year now my honest review is do not buy one under any circumstances.

The main reason being these capsules are way overpriced at £4.50 a capsule and then you need to pay for the alcohol to mix with them pre-mixed cans are way easier and far more convenient.

The other problem is they deliver the capsules to you with a very short shelf life so they don’t last very long. Most of the cocktails are horrible and the UK offering choices is so poor it’s not worth it.

Add on top of this the fact that the machine constantly breaks or has to be flushed through because it won’t dispense properly and the whole thing is a complete utter waste of time and money save yourself a lot of money get cocktails in cans and do not buy this equipment.

Since they have replied stating the machine breaking I should contact them, I will reply and say have done this but as outside of warranty they are not interested, and you my use different ingredients but they are not worth the money you charge

This allows for customers to enjoy authentic cocktails using the spirits of their choice, along with the ability to tailor the strength to their liking as well. Unlike premade canned cocktails where the spirits are set.

Q: The other problem is they deliver the capsules to you with a very short shelf life so they don’t last very long.

We proudly use authentic ingredients- we avoid corn and fructose syrups, powders etc, while these would stabilize their presentation for extended times, it would also sacrifice the quality of our cocktails. The dates aren't a reflection of expiration/safety, but rather a guideline for when the presentation may begin to change gradually over a period of time. Storing in the fridge extends this significantly, they can also be frozen safely (ingredients are concentrated, so there isn't water to expand)

Q: Add on top of this the fact that the machine constantly breaks

Bartesian is proud to avoid the use of corn/fructose syrups. Doing so would artificially stabilize color etc, though our cocktails wouldn't taste as amazing as they do if we were to.

We exclusively use authentic ingredients which is what makes them taste as amazing as they do. Happy to also say, the dating on the package is significantly different from expiration or safety dating. It's a guideline indicator as to when the presentation/color may begin to gradually change over a period of time if stored at room temperature, resulting from the natural sugars.

The presentation can be suspended by months if stored in the fridge, they can also safely be frozen without damage.

Since we use real ingredients, and every recipe is unique - the dating on the packs varies depending on the ingredients.

Don't buy unless you live in America

Don't buy unless you live in America.

I stay in the UK. I was enticed to purchase a Bartesian due to them having over 60 flavours of cocktails. How wrong was I. Their marketing is terrible and makes you think you can get these flavours no matter where you live. In the UK, it is a very limited selection of cocktails. Very poor to be honest.

It is evident that the American market is prioritised over everywhere else.

Would I buy this if I lived in the UK. No. Not unless they match what they have in the USA.

If you can source elsewhere do it is my advice!!

Placed an order online took a week to arrive not sure if that is a Bartesian problem or the fact that they use the worst courier company in the uk, but either way it’s their responsibility on top of this when I received the packages they only have 1 month left of shelf life, another example of a company saying well we are the only place you buy them from so what are you going to do! Absolute disgrace actually considering throwing the machine away through disgust with the Bartesian

Broadly speaking, target for delivery is inside of 7 working days while it's typically much quicker, the target does include a buffer for potential delays in transit.

Happy to say, the dating on the packaging is a presentation guideline that is significantly different from an expiration or safety date. Regrettably, confusion between the two contributes to a significant amount of food waste in North America each year.

Bartesian proudly uses genuine juices, bitters, and extract concentrates and avoids the use of artificial colors, fructose, and corn syrups that would negatively impact the quality of our cocktails. Since the genuine ingredients vary by cocktail the dates vary with each selection.

Beyond the date, there is a chance that the presentation may begin to change over a period of time (the color may change from the natural sugars etc), however the safety of enjoying the cocktail will not have changed.

Though the dating is not associated with safety, and that the presentation can easily be extended, our target is to not send out packs that are inside of 5 weeks from the date received. WARNING: Unless you are American, DO NOT BUY!

WARNING: DO NOT BUY IF YOU ARENT IN AMERICA!!!! They advertise as a machine that can make all these cocktails however if you aren't in the US you can only buy a ridiculously limited range of pods. The price of the machine wildly outweighs the selection of drinks you can make if you aren't in America. I have seen first hand how many non American customers have emailed begging for a bigger selection and the company just doesn't care and will not change their offering. This business has such a potential and it is absolutely being wasted. Whomever is making their commercial decisions needs to be fired yesterday!

Do not buy…

I would not recommend for 2yrs now they have promised more variety of pods and still the same boring ones the us have loads not worth the money DONT BUY UNTIL MORE VARIETY OF PODS AVAILABLE otherwise it's great to use if we had more pods to choose from

Our warranty does cover a set period, which all customers are provided with initial purchase. This warranty does need to be executed fairly for all customers, as approving exceptions may result in unequal treatment for users of our products. Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service. The machine glitched after about 8 uses. Wasted several ( expensive) drink cartridges in trying to fix it. Water reservoir signals empty in spite of following their steps to address it. Numerous calls ( not answered and no call back), numerous emails passing me off from one department to another after all requested information was sent numerous times. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!!

Like some buyers here, I have been stung by the poor use of courier services and customer service. I spent just short of £400 on the Bartesian Cocktail Maker, the pod drawer, and a number of pods to complement the machine—all of it a gift for my wife's birthday.

The delivery itself was super quick, but the condition of the box when it arrived looked like it had been thrown around a warehouse and then dumped in a puddle. The whole of the cardboard was soaked, and the inside boxes were seen on delivery. The DHL courier said he would mark it as damaged. Does Bartesian get a refund for their part because of this? It remains to be seen.

I instantly sent pictures and an angry email to Bartesian Customer Support; their responses were generic and lacked any empathy or sympathy for the situation they had put me in. They offered me gift vouchers for the issues, but considering my confidence in their product was zero, I wanted a refund; it appears they don't provide this despite me showing each box as water-damaged and the pods were broken. Eventually, they offered me £50, which was not nearly good enough, but I had had enough of the back and forth. I have no idea if any of the items will last as long as they should have been dealt with this way.

I was really disappointed and embarrassed my wife had to open her main gift and see the manner in which it was presented. I'm not sure what else I could do to fight and get anything more back. Sorry state of affairs in this day and age; Bartesian showed no responsibility at all.

We do hope there is consideration to the fact that, once in possession of a 3rd party, there are a number of scenarios that can arise that are wholly outside of Bartesian's control or influence.

What is of course within our control is how we react/respond when concerns are brought to our attention.

While the pictures submitted along with your ticket to our team showed no doubt that the external shipping box had been impacted by rain, it didn't seem that any of the items themselves, which are protected with their own additional layer of packaging had been damaged.

Though referenced in your trustpilot review, the ticket created with us had no images of product that had been damaged outside of external shipping materials. We'd requested additional detail on this, at which time it seems a choice was made to accept a refund for the inconvenience vs discussing further.

Regarding: "I have no idea if any of the items will last as long as they should have been dealt with this way."

Having reviewed the images closely again it doesn't seem that any rain would've have come into contact with the actual product., though if it had we have every confidence that there will not be any adverse impact. Absolutely appalling

Absolutely appalling. They use DHL as courier in UK. 92% 1* rating on Trustpilot. Goods not delivered. Reporting as crime to Police. All Bartesian can say is this is courier they use in UK. Well, change them. Avoid Bartesian if you live in UK

Great idea but poor execution in the UK.

When we bought the machine we looked at the capsule choice in the US and contacted Bartesian who said the UK capsules choice would grow as they've only just launced in the UK. Sadly, 9 months on and the selection is worse. We've used the machine once since buying it. The other problem is the capsules are so expensive. I've just added a selection of 3 different varieties to my basket and it's £60 for 24 little capsules of fruit juice! You also have to spend over £50 or they want to charge £9.99 for delivery, also the choice on Amazon is pitiful. If you like a drink then I would recommend buying a PD beer machine instead and make your own cocktails.

Nasty drinks and machine

The drinks are bad, the machine gets slimy and moldy if you don’t use it every day, and everything is expensive. Don’t waste your time or money, just make yourself a much better drink at a fraction of the cost. Most of the high cost of cocktails comes from the alcohol… which you have to buy yourself anyway if you bother with this product!

If you're a UK customer stay well clear. There's a lot better things to be spending your money on.

They opened to the UK marked with very limited choice however being such a well established company in the US we thought this will be great, just give it a bit of time!

Well time has passed and selection has got worse! It's a great idea but with absolutely no intent on establishing a UK market it is now just and expensive bar ornament!

It could be a great thing and the US has proved this but I think they opened in the UK on a whim and didn't actually want to as it's dead in the water!

I can't even flog this machine on as no one wants it!!

I bought 10 boxes of capsules and 8 arrived damaged. I immediately sent the notification and photos.

They haven't fully refunded me, won't let me return it for a full refund, and are no longer responsive.

1 month without definitive solution.

Mine broke down 11 months in and no one at the company will help me - I've sent over 20 emails to them and I keep getting a message "we have opened a ticket" - say what? I offered to pay for shipping and the repair and they won't send me an address to send it to. Don't buy!!!!

Quick and easy way to make mixed…

Quick and easy way to make mixed cocktails. They have a decent selection of “pods” (those are the pre-made items that are added to your choice of liquors). New ones out every quarter. Fun and easy way to offer a selection at a party. The machine can get a little fickle, make sure to keep the water container empty while not in use, and clean as recommended.
