Efficient company and helpful customer services

I bought from this company twice, once in June 2024 and the second time just this week (January 2025). For my order in June 24, I needed customer service advice last year on some lithium batteries and the charger, because I realised after ordering batteries, that I'd ordered the wrong thing. I emailed customer services and dealt with a very lovely lady, Carol in customer services, she was very helpful, she refunded me straight away and helped me place the correct items, so I could reorder correctly. She then personally confirmed my order. I was very impressed with her knowledge, efficiency and kindness. She went over and above to assist me. I recently had to order different size lithium batteries this week, I didn't need customer service support this time. For my new order in January 25, my order arrived quickly and was very well packaged. I would buy from again and definitely recommend this company.

Low Price, Top Service

I ordered a 4-pack of Energizer Extreme AAA 800ma Rechargeable Batteries for £6.95. They are over twice the price, £14, in our supermarket!

Next-day delivery cost a very reasonable £2.35, and the batteries were dispatched with Royal Mail within two hours of order.

I hesitated to post a review on this small purchase. However, some low ratings given unfairly for issues clearly beyond Battery Station's control needed a balance.

Feeling conned. Dud batteries.

I don’t normally give negative feedback but I feel compelled to provide feedback on my recent purchase of Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA LR6 L91 Batteries 60 Pack.

The lifespan of these batteries is non existent.  Literally, less than 4 hours for a small string of led lights.  They definitely do not have a long shelf life, 1.5v is hard to believe and the fact that they are advertised to be beneficial for high tech medical equipment such as life support systems and monitors is extremely worrying!  At £100 for 60 batteries, I feel absolutely conned. I have raises with the company and have not received a reply.

Reponse to Battery Station:

"Firstly" your redirection of fault to the manufacturer is misinformed, let alone flippantly non responsible. As the consumer, my contract is with YOU, the retailer, not the manufacturer and under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, YOU are responsible for addressing issues with faulty goods (even if they're under manufacturer warranty). I further inform you that when a product is advertised to do a specific job but fails to deliver on that promise, it is considered "false advertising"; meaning the marketing claims about the product's capabilities are misleading and do not accurately reflect its actual performance, potentially giving consumers grounds to seek a refund or take legal action depending on the situation and jurisdiction.

Secondly you write this this service is to review your service. I think you've done a reasonably good job in your response to me (publicly as you never responded to my direct complaint) in showing you just how Battery Station deals with complaints, concerns and dissatisfaction.

Thirdly you will see that my review (of your company by non response and your goods by failure to deliver) was simply to show dissatisfaction of the below par product I received from you. Your absolute intention to be so sure that there could possibly be no responsibility on your part to treat a customer fairly has however spurred me to pursue this matter. I could now not be more sure that in purchasing from you, that I have made the misjudgement of entering into contract with a cowboy.

On that matter, I will NOW be pursuing my rights of consumer protection for a full refund through my credit card company (which they will pursue you for as you will have to prove beyond reasonable doubt that there is no fault and you have refused to engage or investigate the matter).

Two further points of interest:
They also failed on a child toy within a day, a tv remote control within a day, and wireless keyboard within a day.
I am a legal practitioner. Feel free to contact me should you need any further clarification on the law.

Hi,

Firstly this review service is for our service as a supplier, and not for product reviews. You would need to direct this feedback to Energizer. We do not manufacture these cells.

However regarding the product, this is an absolutely excellent product. Due to it's extensive use in mission critical applications including some very sensitive stuff, the quality control on it is higher than on cheaper alkaline cells. We have sold tens of thousands of these packs to a very large number of high profile business customers who use them regularly. There are no issues whatsoever with this batch of this product.

The way the manufacturing works with these cells, it is not possible for an entire pallet to be okay, and in the middle of it, 6 boxes of 10 cells to be faulty.

The reason these batteries have run out, is simply because the load on them, from the Christmas lights was substantial enough to run them down.

Every year we get complaints about batteries being 'dud' when they run out too quickly on Christmas lights. This is not limited to any particular product, and we get a handful of complaints encompassing our main high quality products. The reality is, that these LEDs use more power than customers expect.

Responding to your comments about life support systems; we have customers using them for that exact purpose, from the same batch, and there are no issues at all, nor are there any recalls or batch notes.

ADDED - we are unable to contact you because you have not provided any identifiable information to Trust Pilot. We do not have enough information to be able to link your review to any enquiry. Feel free to reach out to us again. Should we need legal advice, we do of course have our own representation. However we would be eager to know who you are, so we can look at any ticket that may have been received.

Kind Regards,

Appalling Customer Service and No Accountability

I recently ordered an item from Alfafado Ltd, but due to a minor omission in the address (I forgot to include my flat number), the package was sent to an invalid address and lost. Despite this, the company outright refused to offer a replacement or refund, blaming me entirely for the loss.

While I acknowledge my mistake in omitting part of the address, their handling of the situation has been appalling. As a retailer, it is their responsibility to ensure the address they ship to is valid and deliverable. Instead, they are hiding behind their terms and conditions and refusing to accept accountability for sending the item to an incomplete address that clearly couldn’t have been delivered correctly.

Under UK consumer law, goods remain the retailer’s responsibility until they are delivered to the customer, but Alfafado Ltd has chosen to ignore this entirely. Their managing director even stated in writing that the loss was entirely mine, with no effort to resolve the matter or demonstrate goodwill.

To make matters worse, their tone was dismissive, and they threatened to defend against any chargeback attempt rather than address the issue.

This has been one of the worst shopping experiences I’ve ever had, and I would strongly advise others to avoid this company. If anything goes wrong with your order, don’t expect any help or accountability from them.

(Point proven from the reply, had to contact Consumer Ombudsman and dispute the transaction with my bank)

Hi Henry,

This review is absolutely correct and we do not dispute it at all.

As you admitted, you failed to provide a full and accurate address and as a result of this, the parcel was mis-delivered. We cover the provision of accurate addresses in our terms and conditions because how you enter your address is entirely outside our control. An address is entered, and automatically goes onto an address label. We do provide an address look-up tool. When it is used, you enter a postcode which provides you with a list of addresses to choose from, each one with a number. Once the address is selected you can then review it again before finalising the order. It is also in the order submitted email we send.

We dispatch hundreds of orders a day and cannot be expected to manually review each and every one. You are responsible for providing accurate information so that we can deliver the item to you correctly.

Yours sincerely,

The BatteryStation.co.uk Customer Service Team

No customer service, no business.....

This company were so good but now I find they don't take telephone calls. Not accepting phone calls is the poorest level of customer service and a big no no for me so the order I placed today will be the last.

Hi Stewart,

That is absolutely correct, we're not able to offer telephone based customer service for domestic orders. Your order was £8. With the VAT deducted, the profit in it is really low. We're only able to keep our prices so low by offering customer service by email. We respond to these emails within 15 mins and even outside normal working hours. Emails make much more sense. We have all the information we need in one place, and it saves the unnecessary conversation with all the questions and security, to load up the order.

I understand this may not be a good fit for you, but we will not be changing this policy. The vast majority of our customers are very happy with the service they via email.

Kind Regards,

The BatteryStation.co.uk Customer Service Team.

Very strange response

Very strange company to deal with, put onus back on us for a failed delivery on a Sunday to a business address due to using standard delivery. We used standard delivery as we were not in a rush but did not realise it would be so difficult to work out a business would not be open on a Sunday, yes this is an issue with the courier company but being told we should have used a more expensive option to guarantee a week day delivery is ridiculous just because we are a business.

Think twice before ordering from this page !!

Due to a wrong description of the product, I ordered the wrong product ! Returning taking extra steps and support dos not help you but even give you wrong information so does not give you full refund !!

Hi,

This does not make sense at all. Our product descriptions are really thorough. You can return items to us, and yes you must pay the returns postage if you wish to do so. We simply do not have the profit in these items to provide free returns.

It doesn't take extra steps at all. You simply pay for the label for the courier you wish to use, and drop it off at a local shop.

On receipt of your order, you get a full refund - but to reiterate, the cost of the return shipping is yours.

Kind Regards,

The BatteryStation.co.uk Customer Service Team.

Easy to order

Easy to order, like for like battery replacement. Prompt delivery expected, let down by Parcel Force. When querying the next day non delivery Battery station came back very quickly with a photo of where it had been delivered. I traced it to a rented barn 150yds down the road and not my cottage. Fortunately it was still sticking out the letterbox and with owners permission removed it. 5 stars Battery Station and 1 star (just) for Parcel Force.

Ordered a charger which came with some batteries.

Arrived really quickly, packaged in a used box which I 100% love, absolutely no need to always use new boxes!

The charger, despite being a more budget offering works well and it's smart display showed me some batteries I already owned were faulty.

Will absolutely return, prices seem very very reasonable, often more affordable than supermarkets and the likes of RScomponents and delivered next day.

Okay for the price but not v pro

Used because the prices were better than elsewhere.
Had an issue and discovered that customer service is pretty awful! What we hope for is sympathy and oil on troubled waters - even if you think we're wrong. What I got was an indignant defence, really quite unpleasant! Otherwise a good service
P.S. I would prefer not to have to muscle into so much tape on the packaging.

Batteries were dead!

Batteries were dead!

I ordered 2 packs of Duracell Procell Intense Power AA LR6 PX1500 Batteries and as I opened the package, all of the batteries from one box fell out onto the floor and the other box was open.

I had no idea whether these batteries were brand new or whether some, if not all, may have actually have been used.

Emailed the customer service team requesting replacements stating that I’m happy to return. No response.

Came to use the batteries today and surprise, surprise, batteries from both boxes were dead. Avoid!!!

Hi Phil,

I'm sorry to hear you had an issue with the packing of your order causing the batteries to fall out. However, claiming that they have been used is quite frankly ridiculous. Do you think we have the resources to collect up used batteries, re-package them and sell them? Or more than like the packaging got damaged in transit.

I consider that you haven't given us an opportunity to resolve this issue so I have refunded your order in full, as I have just checked our customer service ticket system and we don't have anything from you at all.

Your sincerely,

The BatteryStation.co.uk Customer Service Team.
