I went last year for the Chemical…

I went last year for the Chemical Brothers and it was bloody hard work getting out but that was my only complaint. I wouldn't have said that event over capacitated though. Just lack of security on way out made it very stressful and we almost missed our taxi thanks to taking sooo long to get out.

However ent to Becky Hill last night, wow that's all I can say. You couldn't move. I went last minute and sober and I'm glad I did as people were constantly fighting, I was alert and able to keep myself safe. Very over capacitated. Only about 50-60 portaloos in the non VIP area that I could see anyway (may have been more on otherside but it was so crowded and queues everywhere I couldn't see any more and NOTHING was sign posted well) Only one big bar. It was painfully chaotic. Thankfully saw lots of medics but HARDLY any security. It was all concerning. I'm glad I waited until Becky Hill finished to leave as I heard many people left early to try get out safely got trampled on. Would never return to Alexandra Bay again for a gig.

Well where do I start

Well where do I start. What shower of s***. The concert itself and the artist were great. As for the venue......could be better if organised correctly. Too many people allowed in for a small venue. Fighting, crushing, glass everywhere. But no security they stood there trying to look good and hard. But done nothing to stop anything happening. The venue wasn't set up as described. The VIP area we were in said, "unrestricted veiws, covered seating area and close to the stage". What a lie....Even Becky Hill commented about how far away the crowd was. The standard ticket holders got the better veiw. Will I use this venue again? No I won't. As I say the artist are What we went for, but we chose this place as it sounded like a good place to go. If there was a crime for lying, the organisers should get a lengthy term. Absolute shambles.

Avoid at all costs

The Bay Series takes place at Alexandra Head, Cardiff Bay, Cardiff Bay. This year I had VIP tickets to see New Order. These were sold with several reasons to upgrade, including being at the front for the closest and best view of the band - for me, this was the main reason for paying extra. "Exclusive front of stage viewing area getting you closest to the artists" is exactly how it was sold. The actual VIP area is to the side of the event, with restricted view
However, the gig was cancelled just over 5 hours before the gates opened. I was travelling on my way, and the only reason I knew was that my tickets had 'disappeared' from my Apple Wallet. Then came a tweet from one of the support acts confirming this. It took a while longer for Ticketmaster to confirm via text and email. The whole cancellation process was a shambles - clearly, no-one wanted to take the lead and issue a prompt and clear message.
And the reason given was "severe weather", and in particular a weather warning for North Wales - despite the fact that almost all maps will confirm that Cardiff is in South Wales!
Needless to say, the weather was fine and no issue. At the time of writing, the real reason for cancelling remains unknown.
If The Bay Series returns to Cardiff Bay in 2025 - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!
