Had this home insurance for 4+yrs,never made any claims. Made 1 phonecall to them about a leak in the bathroom, to enquire if tiles were covered - they weren't, that's fine. A couple of weeks later I received a letter stating my insurance would not be renewed. Just for making an enquiry. Do not use this company. They will not pay out.
Bradford & Bingley contents insurance were unable to process a monthly payment from my bank and immediately slapped a GBP 20 fine and then started to send threatening letters.
My bank could find no evidence of a payment refusal.
I complained, B&B replied that the insurance was handled by a different company which retained the B&B name.
I countered that if they sell their name to another business, they retain an obligation and reputational risk in doing so.
They also insisted that I phone them even though all transactions had taken place online. I pointed out that this was discrimination.
Eventually an apology was issued, but nothing compensates for the time and grief I have expended.
I've had a mortgage with mortgage express for 17 years
They have constantly made life difficult and ignored my needs
Since they where take over by the government in 2010 in other words where bankrupt they didn't allow a re-mortgage option and didn't allow a holiday period fir difficult times until they where forced to provid a mortgae break during covid.
They are still an aggressive company more interested in reducing their loan book than helping struggling customers.
Lack of communication is a major problem.
They where giving out mortgages hand over fist in the boom years to people like me who possibly didn't qualify elsewhere and didn't understand the implications attached.
In my opinion they have broken contracts in not providing the service that they sold me
I have mortgage with mortgage express which we’re taken over by these guys, have been trying to get a redemption statement so I can remortgage to another company, and they are really dragging their heels to get this sent, my monthly payment is due next week, and to me it seems like they only dragging their heels in, so that I can pay another payment so that they can earn interest off it. Waste of time these are.
