Worst Restaurant Experience Ever !!!!!
We arrived at 17:20 for a booking we made for 17:30. The restaurant was very nicely presented and was extremely busy. When we gave our names for the booking there was a slight confusion by the front of house lady who was clearly flustered. We ordered a bottle of wine while we made our food choice. When we placed the order we asked if we could have a small break between the starter and the main but were told it wasn’t possible due to how busy the restaurant was so we accepted that. The starters came and my wife’s looked very nice and she did praise the food mine however was 2 slices from a baguette with 2 small quenelles of very grainy pate for £10.50 ! We waited several minutes and started to notice that people who came in after us had been served and had left. We waited over an hour and had ordered another bottle of wine to have with our mains when the very polite young waitress came over and asked if we wanted coffee or desserts to which I replied “we’ve not had our mains yet” This started a sequence of disastrous commotion starting with the waitress reporting back we’d not had our mains and then looking very panicked and taking the order to the kitchen. By 19:00 still no food and we had a show to go to opposite the restaurant so my wife asked if the food was coming only to be met by a very abrasive response of “it’s coming ok !” We then waited another 10 minutes and no food so we cancelled the mains in order to get to the theatre. The front of house lady then became very aggressive and said “ well you wanted a break anyway “ my wife challenged her attitude only to be met with more aggression and told “ you have 2 bottles of wine on an empty stomach !” We were not the only ones paying and complaining but for us to be met by such rude and aggressive behaviour was both shocking and unwarranted. If they cannot cope with the bookings then do not accept them and certainly do not vent your anger and frustration out on paying customers. To summarise it was mediocre food at best the worst service we have experienced and our concerns were met with attitude and aggression. Avoid at all costs !!!!
