**Terrible experience
**Terrible experience – unrequested abortive work, failure to follow instructions, and poor fund handling**
I instructed Bendall & Sons (specifically Anthony Scott) to review property boundary documents and issue a straightforward letter of claim.
1. **Failure to Complete Instructions:** The solicitor drafted the letter of claim, but then arbitrarily refused to send it. Despite having baseline title documents in his possession from day one, he failed to properly review or take note of them from the outset, instead going off on unrequested exploratory detours months later and using his own oversight to abandon the paid instruction.
2. **Poor Conduct & Ledger Handling:** When challenged on this poor service and unnecessary billing, the firm engaged in defensive correspondence and attempted to improperly involve third-party funds in dispute management.
Adding to these poor standards, the firm carries a history of formal regulatory disciplinary fines from the SRA for governance failures, alongside widespread negative public feedback.
After nearly two months of protracted correspondence, I have been left out of pocket, completely back at square one, and with my legal matter entirely unresolved—having achieved nothing except unnecessary stress.
If you need competent, transparent legal representation that actually delivers on instructions rather than creating obstacles, look elsewhere. This matter has been escalated to the Legal Ombudsman.
