Wonderful Experience with Berkeley Psychiatrists
My experience throughout this whole process was made comfortable and easy by Dr. Arif Alam. His calming presence put my mind at ease and made this online video experience a breeze. I would recommend Berkeley Psychiatrists, as I believe they are reputable and trustworthy.
Excellent care and service
The care and service i received from Berkeley Psychiatrists has been excellent so far. Having not known much about the process of getting an ADHD assessment, the email and phone communication was very clear, informative and frequent. My assessment with Dr Hill took place over video call which was smooth and did not hinder my ability to go through the process. Dr Hill was prepared, kind and informative. He explained the types of ADHD there are and what I have, and explained what the next steps would be. I have felt enormous relief and happiness since receiving my diagnosis.
Great experience!
Dr Anudha Dutta was extremely professional and sensitive to my situation. She took very comprehensive notes, treated me with kindness and understanding and was able to fully interpret what I was conveying

Excellent care and support
As I navigate my diagnosis off ADHD and autism over the last 3 years, Dr Hollie Hearfield has been so understanding, caring and supportive. I would highly recommend her and Berkeley Psychiatrists. I can easily get appointments, communication is excellent and have a shared agreement in place which I am extremely grateful for.
Good experience
My experience with Dr Roma was good (ADHD assessment). She personalised certain aspects like asking more specific questions as this was helpful to me. She listened well, and was detailed.
The only thing I would say is that there isn’t much asked around masking and the long term effects of undiagnosed ADHD. This isn’t a responsibility on Dr Roma as I understand she is to ask what is on the criteria, however it is a very common experience for late identified/diagnosed neurodivergent people for people to see past the obvious/stereotypical traits of ADHD and it can create a lot of pressure and anxiety when being assessed. I think this is just a general thing that psychiatrists and assessors could mention or be educated on further than the criteria.
Overall my experience was good and I would recommend Dr Roma and Berkeley psychiatrists.
A refreshing change
The whole process so far has been really good, after dealing with local healthcare and getting no where, dropped off systems, people not turning up to my appointments, being ghosted by MH professionals, it's been a really refreshing change to have something so simple as even a follow up appointment, they're very professional and have been really helpful on my journey with them so far
If it costs a fortune to get diagnosed privately, may as well go somewhere with good doctors who take ongoing care seriously.
Jojo at Berkeley is a helpful, considered and insightful woman, having her as my point of contact why going for reviews has helped me feel like I am in good hands after being diagnosed by Dr. Abassi who didn’t rush through the process and gave me and the sometimes tough conversations we had to have the space and consideration to help me not feel like I was simply another person getting checked off a list.
Frankly it’s annoying that there’s strict rules against socialising in the field of psychology because I’d happily buy them both a beer.
The only critiques I would give Berkeley are for the amount they charge per appointment I was disappointed not to receive any help seeking shared care. And like everywhere else they are a business first, originally I didn’t have to pay to request my medication to be reissued but they clearly found that loophole and now charge £75 every time you need new medication, taking the total outgoing cost per month nearer to £235. I can’t really blame them too much as I know it’s the symptom of a business and at least I get good aftercare if I want to talk about my medication.

Many thanks for Hassan as he was truly looking to improve my understanding of my ADHD, he was considerate and kind and very proffessional. He was confident and has managed to pass that to me in my new journey through life.
