Disgusting pool.
It was absolutely disgusting in the pool, I went in there and saw a USED PLASTER which was really gross. Would not recommend.

Not enough equipment in the gym. Sauna and steam room was smelly. Will be cancelling membership.

Great Instructors… Until You Mute Them
I signed up to Fulwood Leisure Centre believing I was joining a place that values good instructors and engaging classes. Unfortunately, I’ve since learned that instructors are no longer allowed to use their own music and are instead forced to use a centrally approved app the centre has bought into.
This decision fundamentally damages the quality of classes. Music isn’t a minor detail in spin and fitness sessions — it’s central to motivation, atmosphere, and performance. Many instructors spend years curating playlists that suit their style and their members. Replacing that with a generic, locked-down platform strips classes of personality and energy.
The explanation given about “music licensing” feels disingenuous. Instructors who already use legally licensed music are being blocked regardless, while members are left with a one-size-fits-all solution that prioritises cost-cutting over experience.
If this change had been made clear before joining, I would have thought twice. Removing creative freedom from instructors will inevitably push good ones away — and members will follow.
Very disappointing direction for a community leisure centre.

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns, and I’m really sorry to hear that you’re disappointed with the recent changes to the music policy for our classes. We genuinely appreciate how important music is in creating the right energy, motivation, and atmosphere—especially for spin and high‑intensity sessions.
This change is necessary because streaming services like Spotify or Apple Music are licensed for personal use only and cannot legally be used in commercial settings - including on our premises. Non-compliance can result in a fine.
Power Music, is the world’s No. 1 source for workout music, and gives our instructors access to over 10,000 songs, while also providing them with the option to use pre-mixed and custom-mixed playlists and make tempo changes. Many UK gym and leisure operators use it for its flexibility and to enhance class engagement and enjoyment - at no cost to instructors.
As a charitable social enterprise, we need to manage our costs for long term sustainability. Moving to Power Music helps us meet our responsibility to protect services and safeguard colleagues.

Good, but BEWARE
Swim and Gym facilities are good and have recently been refurbished. Membership prices are competitive and good value. Staff are friendly and helpful.
My neutral 3 star rating is due to the car park which is managed by an external company, Creative Car Parks.
On appointing this company to manage their car park the Leisure Centre did not put any safeguards in place to protect their customers, other than extensive signage around the centre and car park.
BEWARE if you do not apply for a permit or make an error entering your car registration you will be fined £60-£100 making your visit extremely expensive.
The Leisure Centre is unable to get PCNs cancelled, although they did manage to get mine reduced. Still expensive though considering parking should be free for customers.
This rogue car park company ignore appeals and threaten legal action if you don't pay up.
Proof that you are a paying customer of the centre is not sufficient have the PCN cancelled. (See their reviews on Trust Pilot and their own website)
So my advice is ... make sure you register for a permit AND take a photo of the permit ... technology can fail as well as us humans!
Other than that ... enjoy your visit.

Friendly & well trained staff made my first visits to the gym welcoming & easy to navigate. The facilities are very well laid out and clean. I swim so enjoy the multiple starting times & the initiative to blend lanes in circular swimming so everyone no matter their speed level can find a group that suits. Thank-you to Better Health UK at Fulwood, Preston for replacing the struggle to stay fitter on track with service with a smile.

I joined last week and am really enjoying it up to now. The only negatives would be the pool is a bit too cold, also the is a lack of classes in the evening for working people. Classes seem to be more tailored to daytimes which is disappointing.
