Jesus Green Lido is a beautiful experience, great for swimming lengths.
It’s a shame the shower walls are so dirty. While they do carry out regular cleaning, I don’t think they actually realise they need to clean the walls of the showers as well as the floors because there is clearly a build up of grime.

Ladies shower and toilet facilities closed again this summer, second year now!
All good BUT ladies toilets and showers again closed off and nasty sewage smell emanating from them, which could be smelled near the pool at that end. This was my 3 rd visit this season, and same happened on my 2 visit too this week! Last year during this month and almost through out whole summer same thing - closed women’s shower facilities - with sign we could use the men’s - no thanks! Before Better took on managing Jesus Green pool, the showers always worked well and facility was not closed. I have been swimming there since 1980. This needs to sorted as soon as possible as it is a basic need for an operating pool!

Braving the oldest and longest outdoor pool in the country
It was a hot Sunday afternoon on August 10th when I took the plunge and tried out Jesus Green Lido.
Got there to find it was very busy both in the pool and poolside with a lot of people enjoying the summer sunshine.
The trick is don't faff about but go for a jump.
Yes its cold at 21C but you soon get used to it.
It's also very long at 91m and offers the perfect workout getting in the lengths while being watched by lifeguards situated at different points around the pool keeping a close eye on things.
It's also got a cafe offering cold drinks perfect to cool down after your swim and even outdoor changing facilities.
Be warned - you might encounter a few spiders.
Plenty of lockers needed to store your stuff with a 50p nonrefundable token or leave it by the poolside while you get your lengths in.
Very well done 👏

I am local to Jesus Green Lido .. there was a time when kids could turn up with their pocket money and swim .. everyone hates trawling through your horrible website .. Better ??? what a joke !!!!!

We are sorry to see that you are unhappy with our booking system, and we appreciate your feedback.
The booking system allows members a guaranteed place at their chosen centre for the activity they wish to attend.
Attendees and members can arrive at the centre to make a booking; however, they may arrive and spaces may not be available.
Better is also a cashless and card payments can be made at the centre if needed. We also have the Better App, where bookings can be made!
We hope this helps and hope you enjoy using the Jesus Green Lido in the future.

Jesus Lido - swimming pool is hardly ever cleaned
I can only talk about Jesus Lido, as it is the only facility that I use. The swimming pool is far from being clean. I am used to places where they use the robot to clean the swimming pool bottom every day: at Jesus Lido the bottom is hardly ever cleaned. I found a hair band that I had lost a week before!

Jesus Green lido is unique. It’s my “go to” place in times when I need space, calm and natural beauty. I love that it’s open from 6am - 10pm in the summer. How good is that?
The pool and surrounds are well kept and considering the amount of people who use the pool, it’s clean and always looks so inviting. The staff are extremely hardworking, friendly and helpful, and with Better, enhance the experiences offered with events which are always so well attended.

Downloading the Better App has really helped me begin to establish my swimming habit. The easier the process of getting into the pool, the more likely I am to do it. The Better App helps make the process easier. I'm loving my daily swim at Jesus Green Lido.
