Very happy with the experience from…

Very happy with the experience from start to finish. Communications were quick and efficient. Units delivered on time and by helpful staff. Units are of good quality when comparing like to like and are very good value when bought in one of their sale periods. I am an experienced diyer and have fitted about 12 kitchens so far and am happy to recommend this company and product.

My updated honest advice to anybody considering…

My revised assessment of my experience with Better Kitchens and Better Bedrooms (The company). I have to, up-front, issue an humble apology to the company. In my previous deposition, I mistakenly stated that there were items missing from two deliveries. I can state that there are no items missing from the two deliveries. I have all the parts that I require, and some to assemble all the units. I do therefore repeat my opening statement that I owe Better Kitchens and Bedrooms an unreserved and full apology. Getting back to the experience, my kitchen went very well and my only observation was that there was more material remaining than expected, following the installation. The quality of the cabinets and the finish is really excellent. I have only good comments on the items that were fitted. On the subject of the bedrooms, the quality of the furniture is excellent and the soft closing of the drawers is great. I found the assembly instructions for the drawers could be better, but I got there in the end. One minor issue is the leftover material, but that is a very minor issue. I should like to offoer, again, my profound apologies to Better Kitchens and Bathrooms, for my earlier totally incorrect assessment of their service. I was offered replacement items by the Company, but I shall write to them inform them that I have all the items as per the order. Can I recommend the Company? I certainly do and anybody that needs to deal with me might require the patience of a saint.

The wardrobe doors you mention were part of an earlier delivery on 22/08, not the later delivery referred to in your review.

Across both orders, all of our systems confirm the orders left our depot complete. Further, all items were checked, ticked off, and signed for by yourself on delivery - including the doors, which made up a significant portion of the order. These are large items that would have been difficult to miss.

The first time we were advised of any missing doors was some weeks after delivery. Despite all records showing the orders were fulfilled, we still agreed to provide a replacement carcass to assist you with your installation.

Every kitchen and bedroom is planned to best-practice standards, and all components are included for a reason. Some items, such as oversized end panels, are supplied intentionally so they can be scribed onsite for a precise fit and a professional finish.

Because many items are made to order and non-returnable, we encourage every customer to review their bill of goods with us before committing, ensuring complete clarity on what is being supplied and how each item is intended to be used.

We fully appreciate how frustrating delays can be during a project, but we want to reassure our customers that every order is carefully checked, documented, and signed for at the point of delivery.

A superb kitchen buying experience throughout

From the initial phone call with Julian, to efficient communication through the support ticket system, to the planning, advice, delivery and quality of the kitchen, I really have been thoroughly satisfied with every aspect of the service Better Kitchens has offered - and that is even without even taking the excellent value of the costs involved. We researched many different kitchen companies and none of them could compete with Better Kitchens on price. Our builders/carpenters were so impressed with the quality of the kitchen that they have recommended their clients look at Better Kitchens and we certainly have urged other people who have admired the finished kitchen to look at Better Kitchens if considering a new kitchen. It's not often that I write a review, but this company really deserves praise for the customer service they provide.

New utility room units looking great

I popped into Better Kitchens to have a look for kitchen units in my new utility room., I found so many lovely kitchens to choose from. The staff were all very helpful whenever I popped in & gave us great advice when needed. The units are very well made & worth the money (especially as they are pre-made) & the worktop is perfect. (the fitter agreed too). I'm so pleased with my units

Complaints ignored

Despite our many complaints about our kitchen. Better Kitchens have chosen to ignore every single one. Our sink was crazed on delivery. They said that their supplier refused to replace it. Only eight months after fitting there is a chip out of the corner of the dishwasher front panel. BK tell us its normal wear and tear and their guarantee won't cover it. This despite us choosing their Ultimo range which is supposed to be the most hard wearing range of kitchen they supply. One of the panels is damaged. BK tell us it is water ingress. There is no evidence of this as far as we are concerned as the panel measures the same width top, middle and bottom. If there had been water ingress the top of the panel would swell and measure wider. There were several items missing and also things we ordered were incorrect when they arrived. No come back whatsoever even though we alerted BK to the problems immediately. We have only had the kitchen installed for eight months, as of May 2025. Already it looks shabby in the damaged areas. I have had to paint over the damaged areas to hide the chips in the finish. Also it is impossible to email BK we have to use the ridiculous Support Ticket system. Even if you phone you are told you must use the support ticket system We will never use them again or ever recommend as a footnote BK allegedly has a five year guarantee on plinths, doors etc. This has not been honoured. Also in 52 years of marriage and several kitchens, some of which were really cheap because it was all we could afford we have never had such poor quality finish on plinths and doors. We are both 70 and over, not tearaway kids or having young children or teens in the house. So upset by this. This kitchen was supposed to see us out aa we didn't want to replace ever again. As a further footnote we have friends who had a wren kitchen over 5 years ago. The finish deteriorated so wren replaced the kitchen foc and paid for a kitchen fitter to do the work. This on a 5 year old kitchen. BK refuse to do anything after a few weeks. Now gone on for 8 months of complaints

Your concerns were taken seriously and investigated thoroughly at the time. The sink issue was referred to our supplier and the manufacturer, who confirmed that the crazing is a known cosmetic feature in ceramic sinks and not classed as a fault - and we noted at the time that you preferred not to replace it.

The other items were also reviewed by our technical team. Based on the evidence provided, the damage was consistent with wear, impact, or moisture exposure - all of which are excluded under the manufacturer’s warranty. For example, some cut and unsealed end panels appear to be protruding from beneath the worktop and have swollen due to water ingress, which would typically indicate an installation issue rather than a product fault.

We know this isn’t the response you were hoping for, but we’ve explained everything as clearly and fairly as we can.

Our goodwill offer for discounted replacements remains available should you wish to take that up.

Terrible customer service

Unfortunately one of the worst journeys in customer service I have ever experienced, extremely disappointing as prefer to use local companies where possible. Buyer beware the aftersales process is appalling, they rely on a frustrating helpdesk ticket system, found staff (including senior staff) to be very dismissive when coming to resolve problems, no one seems to want to take any accountability and terrible communication throughout. Would never use again.

True Handleless units

Our second purchase of units from this company, this time a true handleless design. The quality of the units is excellent and the website very comprehensive and straightforward to use. The advisers were most helpful with queries on ordering and a couple of small problems with components were quickly rectified on raising job tickets after receipt.

I’m really sorry but I have to give a 3…

I’m really sorry but I have to give a 3 star review. The reason is not to do with the ordering the people who work there or even the units themselves it’s to do with the installation process. Basically you get all the kit to do the job but unless you’re a kitchen fitter and you are familiar with all the items I wouldn’t bother. The more technical side of things, corner post trims etc there very little guidance for the diyer and you just have to guesse how it goes together. Only very little help online In terms of what to do and the support ticket system is really bad. They respond quickly but I would prefer some telephone help rather than an email.
A suggestion maybe would be to do some videos and link them to a qr code so when someone is in need of guidance they can get immediate help,
I would recommend better kitchens but for gods sake don’t try to install yourself

Update after many problems

There has been so many bits that are wrong, and have had to submit ticket to sort out, even to the extent that fridge freezer don’t fit into larder units and have had to cut the back out.
My wife is gutted as this whole experience has taken the shine out of a new kitchen. Wish I’d paid the 5k more and gone with wren.

I’m just sick of it now

Fantastic kitchen, best quality.

It's been a big job redoing my kitchen. I went to all the usual high street suppliers, Howdens, Wren, B&Q etc but no one had all the units I wanted. Eventually found Better Kitchens on line. They had everything I wanted plus they supplied the carcases in the same colour as the doors. Was nervous about spending all that money on something I hadn't physically seen. My worries were unfounded. The kitchen knocks spots off anything available on the high street. Solid, not hardboard, backs all supplied fully assembled. Everything is quality. Everyone I dealt with, Including the lovely guy who delivered it, was a pleasure to deal with. I love my kitchen, I didn't have to make any compromises on what I wanted and the price was excellent. Thank you

Our Kitchen Journey

Our kitchen journey started in the showroom with Mitch….lovely young man and very knowledgeable, we had our fitter already in place but needed a new kitchen….our choice Ultimo in Cashmere gloss hasn’t disappointed us excellent quality with a modern look. My only request was a ‘Larder’ and I ❤️❤️❤️ love it Thank you 🤩
We also had a great deal with a free Hot Tap in copper 👍 working great since day one. I a have to also mention the delivery…. Luckily I had 2 strong 💪🏻 young men present as delivery didn’t include placing the order into my property….. but I think this is available for a fee …..delivery was otherwise A1
Unfortunately we had one front cupboard unit damaged (which wasn’t picked up until fitted some time later) was promptly replaced FOC….Thank you to everyone at Better Kitchens for making our Kitchen Journey a great experience

Order Parts, and was give a delivery week. I was then told a day that week. Then i get a phone call moving the day. Waited in all day nothing arrived called better kitchen. It'll be tomorrow now. Waiting. Part of the order arrived. Call better kitchen again. It will be tomorrow now, before 10am. No delivery. Call again after 12pm. We will wait and see. What a joke.

Disappointing Experience with Better Kitchens - Delayed Delivery and Lack of Communication

I recently purchased a kitchen from Better Kitchens with the expectation of having it delivered pre-Christmas. Unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory, and I feel compelled to share my frustration through this review.

Initially, we were assured a pre-Christmas delivery, as the kitchen was ordered well in advance. We were even given the flexibility to take some time choosing the colours and trims for the handleless system. However, our disappointment began when, just one week before the scheduled delivery, we were informed that the grey trims we selected were out of stock.

This unexpected setback left us unable to proceed with the kitchen fitting as planned, causing considerable frustration. We were told that the trims would be supplied directly from the manufacturer with a next-day service. Unfortunately, this did not materialize, and we were left in the dark about the progress.

After patiently waiting for an update, we were finally informed that the trims (2.00 - 126.36.714 - X1 Mid Profile for True Handleless - 4.1m Length and 4.00 - 126.36.772 - X1 2.67m Vertical Profile - Lateral for True Handleless) would be available after the New Year, and we were promised an update on January 2nd, 2024. Regrettably, we received no communication until I took the initiative to follow up on January 8th.

To add to our frustration, we were told that the trims are not expected to be in stock until February 15th, 2024, pushing our kitchen completion date well beyond our initial expectations. Additionally, when I raised concerns about a manufacturing issue involving the tall fridge unit, I was dismissed without a satisfactory resolution.

The lack of timely communication and the failure to meet promised delivery dates have left us extremely dissatisfied. We could have chosen alternative suppliers such as DIY Kitchens or Wren and had our kitchen completed sooner. What was meant to be a joyful Christmas season has turned into a sour and protracted experience.

I hope this review serves as constructive feedback for Better Kitchens to improve their customer service and fulfilment processes. As a customer, the least we expect is transparency and adherence to promised timelines.

What a caring company

What a caring company, I’ve had my Kitchen near to 3 years now and recently had a minor problem with a Wall Corner unit door hinge. One call to customer service to purchase the correct hinge and was told their hinges come with a lifetime guarantee so replacement was free of charge and postage. Well done Better Kitchens!!

From the help we had at the showroom…

From the help we had at the showroom with planning, the after sales communication, the delivery guys and most of all the kitchen itself I can not fault any of it. Super pleased with the quality and the transformation of our kitchen.

Exceptional service

Although the date shows different it was important to submit after properly using the kitchen. I have had my kitchen for two years now so this review is well overdue. It was a difficult time post covid but the communication and service was exceptional from Julian and the team. A couple of marks appeared early on but I can honestly say nothing more since and my kitchen still looks as good as new AND has the wow factor.
Would recommend highly and I am pleased to see they are doing well in the new premises. Good product and service at a realistic price!

Excellent company

We cannot recommend Better Kitchens highly enough. The service and after service we received was excellent. From start to finish we were kept informed and updated. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Every member of staff we encountered was polite, knowledgeable, helpful and approachable. Arden and Julian run a first class company with an excellent team, they are to be commended.

Don't go anywhere else

What can I say. Amazing value, amazing product, amazing service. From the off I received more help and attention than I received from Howdens. They are the antithesis of Howdens et al. No caginess about price; you can see straight away what every item costs. Instead of getting a price that supposedly has a trade discount and still comes in 50% higher than DIY, each item you look at is listed with its price. I received help online with my plan when I got stuck and received good advice about improvements I could make to the design. My fitters have said that they have fitted some high end kitchens and these are the best carcasses they have ever fitted. They are solid, not that MDF floppy back that bends. I LOVE my new kitchen. The bin unit is awesome, the pan drawers are perfect and soft close. It's also great that you can get sample doors which are a reasonable size so that you can really get a feel for what they will look like. The delivery guys were great and we thoroughly enjoyed our free Yorkshire tea. The only negatives were that the screws for the door fittings were very short so we bought some new ones, but, seriously, for the price you pay for the kitchen I am not marking them down for this. Also the fitters suggested the paint finish is going to be easily chipped. We have a free match pot of paint and I don't have young kids so am I bothered? I really cannot praise this company enough. De light ed!!
