Seller Refused Refund After Shipment Could Not Be Legally Imported into Canada

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the handling of my complaint regarding a seller on the IndiaMART platform.
I placed and prepaid for an order through a seller listed on your website. Despite payment being made, I have not received the product, nor have I received a satisfactory resolution from either the seller or IndiaMART.
I filed a complaint with IndiaMART and have repeatedly followed up regarding this matter. However, instead of receiving the assistance expected, I continue to receive repetitive responses that do not address the specific concerns raised or provide any meaningful update regarding the status of my complaint. The ongoing lack of communication with the seller and the absence of any concrete action have left me without the product I paid for and without a resolution.
Due to the lack of progress, I also contacted my financial institution, the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), regarding this transaction. After reviewing the circumstances surrounding my dispute, RBC initiated a complaint and has advised me to make contact with Remitly. The fact that this matter has required intervention beyond IndiaMART's internal complaint process demonstrates the seriousness of the situation and the failure to provide an effective resolution.
This matter has now been ongoing for an unreasonable length of time, and I am extremely concerned about the continued delays. I am requesting:
1. An immediate review of my complaint by a senior representative.
2. A detailed update regarding all actions taken concerning the seller.
3. Assistance in securing a full refund of the amount paid (230.00 Cdn)
4. A clear timeline for resolution of this matter.
As a customer, I expected IndiaMART to provide effective support and dispute resolution when issues arise with sellers using its platform. Unfortunately, my experience has demonstrated a significant lack of customer support, accountability, and communication.
If this matter is not resolved promptly, I reserve the right to pursue additional remedies through consumer protection agencies, financial institutions, regulatory authorities, and any other appropriate channels available to me.
I expect a substantive response and a prompt resolution to this matter.

Payment was made on March 31, 2026 via Remitly for 230.00 Canadian
The product was refused by Customs in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on April 16, 2026.
I have been communicating with the seller through SMS text messages. On April 16, 2026, I provided the seller with the details and official documentation from Canada Post confirming that Customs in Montreal, QC had refused the item. I DID NOT refuse delivery. The item did not make it to my province of Ontario, Canada.
On April 21, 2026, I asked the seller whether he intended to issue a refund or resend the items. I clearly indicated that I was still willing to receive the items if they could be reshipped.
On April 22, 2026, the seller responded by stating: “Once I received the items will do reship.”
On April 27, 2026, the India Post delivery status showed the package as “Delivered to Seller.”
On May 3, 2026, the seller advised that he had not received the item. I responded by informing him that, according to the India Post tracking status, the items had been successfully returned and delivered to him.
June 6 the seller said he'd reship the SAME item, but also claimed that Canadian Customs (CC) was NOT accepting mail from India. If CC is allegedly refusing shipments from India, then its unclear how the seller intends to reship the item or fulfill the order.
I was promised "Trusted" and Payment Protection in cases where items are not delivered. I relied on this representation when making my purchase and payment. I have not received the protection or resolution to date. This has resulted in financial loss, stress and significant inconvenience.
IndiaMart asked if they could deliver to US. I clearly said I do not know anyone there. That was the end of the discussion, and no further solution, assistance or resolution was provided. No Product, NO refund and NO Payment Protection in which was promised by Indiamart and Seller.
