They do not take personal, approved csr finance from outside of their own business, you HAVE to use theirs... Which, in the current climate of shady car finance screams to me to avoid in every way.
The UK car finance market is currently caught in a massive legal storm, which has effectively paused the £9.1 billion official compensation scheme.
This is why you should legally be able to use your own and get the bets deal for yourself, I smell backhanders.
The receptionist was polite and helpful but the manager or salesman who walked over was obnoxious when told I would want to use my own finance deal I've got approved myself. AVOID AVOID AVOID.
The worst after care I’ve experienced in 18 years of owning cars. Bought my car from the Leeds branch in November of 2025 while I was 6 months pregnant with my second child. It had a lot of scratches which weren’t visible when I test drove it due to the rain. It also had an ‘SOS warning light’. It was explained to me that this light just needed a battery replaced in it and they would do it before I took it away. Only to then be waiting over an hour to be told they didn’t have it in stock but it was on order. They said I’d be able to bring it back and they would buff the scratches out at the same time. I’m aware second hand cars come with some issues but there were multiple scratches all over the bodywork. Months went past until I had to chase. They then went back on the promise the scratches would be buffed out stating this isn’t something they would cover. It then took us to January of 2026 where I was 9 months pregnant for them to tell me to take my car to them to fix. I did, and after them having my car for the day, I was told it wasn’t something they could fix. April 2026 with a 3 month old, asked to take it to another garage only to be told again, they couldn’t fix it. I had to chase them again, for them to tell me I had to book a further diagnostics in my name as the company wouldn’t deal with them direct. I had to book it, then pay for it before being reimbursed. This was at the start of the summer heatwave. We’re now in September where my car has finally been seen for a diagnostics, they have the part to fix it today. Yet 2 hours later I’m awaiting any confirmation from Big Motoring World they would reimburse me for the cost of it to be repaired. I am on maternity leave, and they expect me to pay for it first and then get the money back from them. It’s over £400. I am still awaiting a response but I don’t hold my hopes they will cover it. They will expect me to come to one of their places, be without a car for another day let alone the added cost of fuel to drive it somewhere different again, try and arrange child care or cart my 6 month around. Absolutely appalling. Will never buy a car from them again and will actively tell people the same.
Robbie Green was fantastic from start to finish couldn't do enough for me really nice guy top customer service was very knowledgeable happy we got him to sort us out he deserves a bonus and some chocolate out of the vending machine haha he knows the finance lady think her name was lilly was very nice and polite and sorted very quickly and hamza was also very good with me all round top service thank you very much

Shocking service. Completed an 11 hour round trip to buy a car based on my valuation given over the phone. Valuation given on site was lower despite my car being in good condition. Website advertised £500 deposit contribution but when I arrived I was told it was only for taking out finance. Advised I did not want to take out finance and was encouraged to do so and use my deposit to put into savings! Tried to upsell me items I did not want. Manager at Leeds branch said they couldn't do anything else and said I was to take it up with head office. Emailed an extensive complaint to head office and unsurprisingly they took no responsibility for the misinformation received. Absolutely shocking - would never use them again.

When looking for a vehicle stay well well away from this company.
I hadn't encountered a bad car experience until I met these guys and as I tell what is a 'story' below the first issue that came up should have been the red flag I followed.
I saw a well presented Renault Arkana, Hybrid via Auto trader.
I paid a hefty relocation fee to bring it up from down south.
When I turned up at the showroom it was a Friday morning, it was quiet inside and yet still took a long while to be seen and initially dealt with although I scheduled a time via email.
I run my own business so time is of the essence and I commuted 90 minutes to get to the Leeds depot.
After a test drive I sat down with the young sales person who ran through the figures and there was a significant difference to what was mentioned in the autotrader calculator and again in an initial financial screening with their finance team.
I had the figure to hand of what the finance department stated my monthly cost would be - There was around a £50 difference per month.
& I was told in simple terms to take it or leave it.
It was the first time I was buying a hybrid car so I wanted to ensure protection was there should anything happen.
I was made aware that the manufacturers warranty expires 1 month after I bought it and it's recommended too that I go for the extended warranty.
The package was an extra £1950 to the total cost.
As the application was progressing for the vehicle the finance systems went down and I was told to come back the next day.
I returned the next day, another several hours out of my schedule to sort this car, upon entering this time it was a busy Saturday afternoon and I called again prior to explain I'm picking a car up, the finance had cleared I was told.
In my eyes, it wasn't a long appointment.
They had me waiting nearly 2 hours to sit down with another sales person going through documents I had already signed.
I was then sent to a post office 15 minutes away that i'd just about make before it shut to get it taxed.
So it was nearly another return to collect the car.
One thing that stood out to me was no member of staff cared at all. No toss was given.
Fortunately, I managed to get the keys that Saturday but after such a terrible sales experience that was only the start of my ongoing issues.
Around 11 days later the car broke down on the 20th December, not ideal anytime, but certainly not with Christmas around the corner and many family trips planned. I wasn't sure who this fell on with having the additional warranty package and a what I thought was a small manufacturers warranty.
The RAC took it to Renault to be looked at and repaired.
It's worth noting that the vehicle has since had 2 further recalls also.
It broke down again for a second time in early May this year, 5 months after purchasing the vehicle, this time out of manufacturers warranty and given the absolutely awful customer service this company offers, I was dreading getting this sorted.
I used my warranty app, checked all the paper work and was unsure where to start, there was no approved garages on any paperwork.
I also read, should you take it somewhere that isn't approved you will foot the whole bill, so that wasn't an option given I'm paying an additional £2000 for a vehicle warranty.
After being passed from pillar to post with Big Motoring World, on hold to several departments at literally an hour a time they referred me to 'Warranty 2000' the warranty provider.
They too were an absolute waste of time, more time on hold, again circa an hour only to be passed to someone else & so on.
No care, no one rolling up the sleeves to help a customer in needs, literally no care or compassion about the situation at all.
As stated above, I am self employed & need my vehicle for work so the fact I had no car was a huge frustraition and hindered my working week and ability to earn. The other big frustraition was I literally wasted a day or two on calls with the amount of time on hold.
I spoke with a couple of staff who stated they'd send over a list of 'approved garages' - It never came.
Many staff wouldn't give me their full name, so there was no trace, no accountability.
When I finally spoke with someone from the warranty company they suggested a handful of back street garages.
They were your typical back street garages you wouldn't trust your peddle bike in, let alone a car. The warranty covered a certain £ per hour labour cost, something that was never explained to me from the off.
I knew by going to a main dealership the cost for labour to 'do a proper job' would have me putting my hand in my pocket.
Finally after being drove around the bend I just contacted my RAC and got them to take it to Renault, the vehicle was repaired under a 4 year remaining warranty.
I was MISS SOLD an additional warranty policy, one that effectively I can't use.
I am now disputing a refund for the warrant package.
STAY WELL AWAY!!

I bought a Kia Picanto from Big Motoring World, drove it home and realised on the way that there was a noise from the engine. The car also creaked over speed bumps. I took it back to Big Motoring World the following morning where a technician looked at it and said he could hear the noises but thought everything was ok. Having read the reviews on here I asked for my money back and was told I would need to go through head office. Head office had me book a diagnostic, which I did. They confirmed the car needed parts replacing on the suspension, a new clutch and the engine noise is likely a timing belt but needs investigating. I have again asked for my money back on the car but am still awaiting a response. The car is still at the garage as Big Motoring World has not yet paid for the diagnostic, which they have said they will cover. It's 8 days since I bought the car and not only am I waiting for my money back but I am also without a car. Even if the refund is processed tomorrow I will need to hire a car for work, leaving me out of pocket. While the sales people were nice, the quality of the vehicle and after care have been appalling.

Absolutely awful service. I tried to buy a mini cooper. Turned up to collect it. was kept waiting 1.5 hours. They took my money and then took another 30 mins to tell me there was an issue with the car. Come back later. Tried to get through the next day to find out was happening and was kept on hold for 25 mins+ . whilst they tried to find out was was happening. Disgusting customer service.

Probably the worst company I have ever dealt with. Staff with no knowledge of the motor trade, basics such as insurance and tax. Mis sell you warranty, whatever you do, DO NOT buy extended warranty with them as they do everything to get out of it. False promises from start to finish, they take no responsibility once you have taken the car away. Stay away if you want a car that’s supported with a good dealer because Big Motoring World is horrendous.

I could not warn you more to avoid buying from this garage. I purchased a vehicle on the basis of same/next day collection. After leaving the dealership, was rung to be told work needed to be done and this was pushed back. I then rung to chase a revised collection date and was advised that no-one had yet looked at the vehicle and no issue has yet been identified. Very poor service and had to chase the team for updates throughout. I cancelled the sale a week after paying due to inconsistent information being given to me which caused me to loose all confidence as a buyer. Throughout this, further issues were found with the vehicle and the sales director Paul retracted his offer to compensate my insurance as I cancelled the sale. I am now out of pocket as I paid for insurance on a vehicle which was not fit for sale in the first place. Paul also failed to call me despite his word he would on numerous occasions.
Highly disappointed with all aspects of this service.

I went to the dealership on Thursday to view a car and put down a £3,000 deposit for a car,I dealt with Kasim for the sale who was initially very pleasant. We arranged to collect the car on Friday, but during the visit we noticed that one of the tyres appeared to be very low on air. We raised this with the dealership and were assured that it would be sorted before collection.
As my insurance company is only open 9am–5pm, I had to change my insurance to the new car via live chat before 5pm in order to be able to collect it. When we arrived, however, the tyre was nearly completely flat.
Kasim told us that he had put air in the tyre at around 8pm the previous evening and that it was fine. He also claimed that he had driven the car for a few hours to make sure everything was okay, despite the dealership closing at 9pm. Pure lies
We were then told that they couldn’t fix the tyre because there was no technician available and they finished at 5 but other sales people said different times so unsure and that our decision to change the insurance was essentially our own problem. This was incredibly frustrating given that we had already paid a £3,000 deposit and had no realistic choice but to arrange the insurance in advance if we wanted to collect the car at any given date,
We asked to speak to the manager, who offered a £25 goodwill gesture and said there was only so much they could do. We were assured that the car would be made a priority first thing the following morning and that changing the tyre would take around 20 minutes.
The dealership opened at 8:30am, so we called at 10am for an update, but there was still no progress update. At around 11am we were told that the tyre was finally being changed. We arrived at 1pm and found that the car had been completed, but nobody had contacted us to let us know it was ready.
We then had to sit around for around an hour before anyone properly acknowledged us. Kasim walked past us and completely ignored us. When we approached him to ask what was happening, he said it was nothing to do with him and questioned why we had approached him, despite him being the salesman who had sold us the car.
Once the sale had gone through, his attitude completely changed. He was rude, dismissive and seemed to want nothing to do with the situation, despite us being left in a very stressful position because of an issue that should have been resolved before collection.
I do want to mention that the handover member of staff was lovely, apologetic and genuinely tried to make us feel at ease. He checked the car and was much more understanding of the situation, which we really appreciated.
Unfortunately, the overall customer service was extremely disappointing. The tyre issue should have been identified and resolved before we arrived to collect the car, and the communication throughout the process was poor. Being left waiting without updates and then being dismissed by the salesman made an already stressful situation much worse.
Based on this experience, I would not return to this dealership or recommend it to others. Buying a car should not involve having to chase the dealership for basic communication or feel as though you’re a nuisance once the sale has been completed.
I also do not appreciate your chatgpt responses working in customer service myself it is very easy to tell😂

UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO BIG MOTORING WORLDS REPLY BELOW...
On Tuesday 25th August I telephoned customer service and explained everything as below. I was told they would raise a ticket and someone will contact me to sort things out. It is Friday 28th August and still waiting. She took my phone and email and the registration number of the car and date purchased so I will wait and see.
**BEWARE**
We arrived at 9.45am on 20th Aug 26 after putting a deposit down on a car. James was our salesperson and everything was good as he showed us the car had a test drive etc. Then we got to the paperwork and the figures and things went downhill. (We had previously visited on 16th Aug26 and a different salesperson had explained that there was a leeway of £2k when P/E your old car which we understood as they cover that as that is how it was explained it after we questioned it. The other thing he told us was you could not have 2 car loans at time in one name which proved to be incorrect)
Back to James when we discussed the P/E the £2k leeway meant that this is added to the new car which inflates the payments to an extra £100 approx. We discussed warranty which was overpriced and we decided we could do without it. At this point James attitude towards us changed and he challenged us regarding the warranty and became pushy asking us to reconsider. We didnt so this was the point were he lost interest in us. He completed the sale and told us the car would be ready for 1.30pm after having a full valet and assured us the stains on the upholstery etc would be removed.
Amy then took over and assisted us completing the finance forms and was very helpful. She issued us with a form and we were instructed to go to the post office to get the V5 as they did not have it. She also assured us on our return to sign in and ask for her on return from the post office. We arrived back from the post office at 2.30pm and signed in and asked for Amy. We waited and could see Amy in her office. I went over to the office and asked to speak with her and was informed they would let her know. 20 mins had gone and still no one attended us I went back to the signing in desk and complained as we were waiting for a £25 refund and did not know if the car was ready .I was then informed Emily in collections would be dealing with us and would be 10 mins. After 10 mins still no one attended us we spoke with a manager who went to talk to Emily and was told we had a 2 minute wait. 5 minutes later Emily saw us and went through the collection process and said the car still was not ready (3.15pm) at 3.25pm we were shown the car and the valet we were promised had only been done to the outer vehicle the inside interior had not been done. They were still the stains on the upholstery amd crumbs etc.
At this point we needed to go as we had urgent things to do, so we mentioned thst we were disgusted with the customer service and would not ever purchase a car from them. To be honest they are not bothered and do not take customer feedback seriously. However, lesson learnt ALWAYS read the reviews before visiting a showroom as people write them to help others.
NOT EVERY ONE IS A KEYBOARD WASTER!!
I REALLY HOPE MY REVIEW HELPS OTHERS AND THE CAR HAS NO PROBLEMS LIKE SOME PEOPLE HAVE EXPERIENCED!!
I WILL UPDATE IF IT DOES.
