Could be nice place, that does good stuff for the community and environment. However, it is sadly marred by poor communication and promises that can't be kept. To be precise, people who run this place promised my partner to pay and they didn't.
To summarise;
-Lack of organisation
- Poor communication
-Nice idea
-Lack of morals and shame

I volunteered at this project in June 2025. While the setting and idea of the sanctuary are appealing, I unfortunately had a very negative experience regarding agreements around money.

After being asked to extend my stay, I was promised payment for my work and reimbursement of expenses. Despite repeated reminders and even written confirmation, these promises were not honored. Instead of resolving the issue transparently, communication eventually stopped, and excuses replaced accountability. I later learned I was not the only volunteer to face this situation.

I strongly advise future volunteers to only agree to the standard Workaway terms (work in exchange for food and accommodation) and to avoid making any additional financial or work agreements outside the platform. Based on my experience, those agreements will not be respected.

The project itself may have potential, but it is overshadowed by a lack of honesty and responsibility. My time there left me stressed, financially out of pocket, and with a lasting sense of having been taken advantage of. I hope sharing this helps others go in with eyes open.
