What a great shop. We have been looking for somewhere focussed on birdwatching to advise on buying a spotting scope for a while. We have used binoculars for many years, but know nothing about scopes. We went last weekend while visiting Malvern. They listened to what we needed and came up with the perfect solution within our price range, we had the chance to try a couple of scopes out outside the shop, and everyone was really knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. We have ended up with exactly what we wanted and are very happy. The website has some helpful videos as well.

What a fantastic store!

Called in here today for the 1st time, just for some advice having got a spotter scope for Xmas.

The two staff spent ages chatting with us and they were so patient and knowledgeable. There was no pressure sales but I was so impressed I ended up buying the equipment necessary to connect my camera to the scope as well as an extender lens.

I don’t think I have ever enjoyed a visit to a shop as much! I didn’t think shops with this level of service existed any more!

Super helpful staff. They were very chilled that I wasn't making an expensive purchase this time, so I will be a returning customer. They even provided the contact details of someone who could refurbish my late Dad's old binoculars.

Bought a pair of used Zeiss 8 x 42 Fl binoculars, arrived well-packaged the next day. They were described as 'excellent condition', in all honesty they look like they are new out of the box, there's not a mark on them. I've only had a chance to used them once briefly but they certainly appear to be a very suitable replacement to my old Trinovids. Very happy with the purchase.

Buying a pair of used Zeiss Victory's from Brian at the Birders Store was a breeze. The condition of the bins as described on the website was completely accurate, communication was friendly and prompt and the very well packaged item arrived the next day via Royal Mail special delivery. I'll definitely use Birders Store again and can't recommend them too highly.

Traded in my Opticron field scope for an Opticton MM3 travelscope today. Brilliant service. Brian and Bev were very helpful and friendly, as was the Opticton rep though I don't know his name! Brian also managed to repair my tripod out of his box of spares. All in all first class experience. Would highly recommend.

Ordered a pair of Swarovski Binoculars over the weekend after having sorted out a bit of a muddle with my bank. As promised, the binoculars arrived first class signed for post. The packaging was excellent. As for the binoculars - what can one say other than Swarovski are the Crème de la Crème of optics. The quality is truly outstanding, not just the binoculars but also the straps and especially the pouch.

The Birders Store was also kind enough to include a free optics cleaning kit which if bought elsewhere would cost quote a few pounds.

Make no mistake, The Birders Store is second to none for customer service. They are a perfect example of offering outstanding customer service that others should follow.

Spot on as usual from Brian and the team. Ordered a hand lens on Wednesday, dispatched on Thursday and arrived Saturday.

Excellent service from Birders Store. Ordered new pair of binoculars on Monday morning and they arrived safely on Wednesday morning by Royal Mail special Delivery. Birders Store updated me when items were despatched, and I was then able to track delivery. Will definitely use them again. Very impressed with the Opticron Aurora 8x42. A lot of light transmission and very clear and sharp.

I had hoped to buy a spotting scope quite some time ago but it didn't work out. So, I thought now is the time. When I researched, I came across The Birders Store with an excellent stock of many options to choose from. I phoned up a day before visiting and spoke to Brian. He was very helpful and made some suggestions to fit our budget. We visited yesterday and Bev was extremely patient in letting us try 3 options. After narrowing to 2 options, Bev kindly took us outside with a church & trees to use objects of focus. This was really helpful with actual use scenarios. We decided eventually on a VIKING Swallow ED with a 20-60x80 set-up. Hopefully, as we use it we will find out exactly how good it is but with limited use after a day, its proving to be very good. If you need kit (bins, scopes, books etc.) for bird/wildlife observation or outdoors then be sure to consider THE BIRDERS STORE - they are an exceptionally nice and helpful Team. Worcester is also well worth a visit (Pappa's Cafe a great place to eat lunch!).

I ordered a pair of Hawke Endurance ED Binoculars to replace an older pair. These had good reviews on various sites and were in the correct price range that I wanted to spend. circa £ 200.
They have arrived and the binoculars are perfect they operate smoothly and the lenses give virtually perfect colour and viewing I have tested them on my bird feeders and they give super views of the birds feeding. The ED glass really makes a massive difference to image sharpness and contrast.

However on opening the well wrapped box the binoculars were wrapped in newspaper and the ink from the newspaper had leaked/rubbed all over the the outside of the white Hawke Box which makes the box look very tatty.

On opening the box there were also finger prints on the binoculars left lens indicating they had been used or handled at some point.
These are a Christmas present for my wife and somehow I almost feel that they are not new. That someone had used these before.
The cleaning kit sent with them was appreciated and did remove the finger prints from the lens.

Visited the Birders store today for purchase of a new pair of binoculars. Brian and Bev were both extremely helpful. Not pushy or persuasive. They just let me ask the questions and didn’t bombard you with stats and figures. Which allowed me to concentrate on the main task at hand of carefully getting the feel for each pair and they are all very different if like me, you want to take the time to look for the subtleties between each selection, which is the deal breaker or maker. From the handling, balance, optical quality, design, eye cup comfort, focus wheel usage, quality of the build to the fit of the accessories on the binoculars. All have overall impact on an important decision if your investing in and after one great pair of long terms binocs.
So for me less input was more as your brain is fully focusing in, on taking in all the information about what your seeing and feeling for the things listed above. The last thing you need is someone being too over the top with all the distracting blurb as well. Which you can ask away after you’ve physically tried them all. So major thumbs up here from myself.

They allowed me to just try each pair out, different brands in x8 and x10s. They had a good range of stock. All the binoculars I wanted to try were in ready to go. Considering I spent over an hour trying the various options. I found the Vortex Viper 10X42 HD were the best in terms of all round quality and fit for me, my eyes and within my price range. Cheers for the assistance birders store. I’ll be recommending anyone interested in optics to go straight to you.

Ordered a pair of Binoculars on Saturday and the arrived Special Delivery on Monday. Nothing went wrong so I'm very happy and would use them again.

Update. I've since bought a couple more pairs that were significantly more expensive. I went in person and found the staff very helpful and friendly. Being able to try different binoculars, both inside and outside, allowed me to make a choice that I couldn't have relaibely made just looking at online reviews.
