I was having a difficult time getting my card to work. The agents assisting me were very courteous, helpful, patient, and able to get my card working in no time. I appreciated the extra effort they put in to make sure I was taken care of.

I received a gift card from this business for Christmas, but after activation, I tried to use the card 2 days later at a store and was told it was declined. After looking into the balance, I could see it was compromised somehow online, although, I had the card in hand and it was purchased at a local retailer. I have been trying to get a refund from Blackhawk since Christmas, now over 2 months later, after they sent me a replacement card with a $0 balance, and also advised they would send out a check for the refund on 1/19, considering it’s 3/3, I have still not received my money back. This place is a scam and should not be allowed to sell gift cards!!!!!! Sounds like an inside job!!!!

I get visa cards trough co op money to give to costumers. I always like activating these before handing them out. This company makes it impossible to do this without it taking a month and a half to activate them. Customer service is nice but totally inefficient. They only allow you to activate six cards a day on a pc. But they want you to send 80 card numbers through the email to them to activate them. Hold them for 2 weeks then ask for more information. Not acceptable!
3/3/26 They send me an email saying your clam has been resolved! Great how? Log in and if your card is not activated you will be able too.
First off I already had an employee spend 45 minutes typing in 50 full card numbers for you to activate, which you received a week and half ago.
Not only are the cards not activated but it only lets me activate 5 cards today rather then 6, like before. If this is a resolve, then I have missed something.

Who are you fooling? This is fraud, a scam, a JOKE. I received a gift card electronically for a "Settlement". I've tried it at at least 4 different places, ALL DENIED. And these vague, 5-star reviews are fake. Who do you think you are fooling? No one is out to make an honest dollar these days. Disgusting.

This company is full of racist employees that when I call I dont even have to tell them my issue or give them a card number they will hang tell me the case is resolved and hang up on me, I have called over 20 times and i had several disputes with fraud on a prepaid virutal card and fraud on a physical card yet they just say case is resolved without giving me information as to how it was resovled bhn is not following regulation e policy and bhn are required to follow visa/mastercard regulations, they have closed about 3 of my disputes with fraud on each card never giving me any documentation as to how it was resolved they are just closing them out, violaing regualtion e policy, i have asked for a final decison letter and I asked bhn for a specific reason for denial and they are unable to provide me reason as to why they closed these cases out, then they hang up on me without giving any explanation but the last email i recieive from them 2/23/2026 for case cds0610696 which was for card ending in 5981 that contained $127.09 in fraud that was not resolved nor did i receive any kind of email but everytime i call they say its resolved and and hang up on me but the whole card i didnt get to use because the card was filled with unauthorized transactions that didnt get resolved and they are not being truthful if so they would have provided me documetation why they considered these disputes resolved, but as you can see it wasnt resolved they just closed this out just as they done the virtual card ending in 4726 which had $186 on that card and $150 in fraud yet they close the disputes out without any kind of reason why they said it was resolved without any documentation they are not following regualtion e policy ...they refuse to explain to me or provide me documention why these cases are being resolved because they are not resolved BHN is not following policy most of their agents act like they are discrimenting against me when I call they hang up after reading whatever they put in the computer they have created a false narrative to not follow procedures disputing fraud on these cards.....these were settlement claims BHN are not following regulations when fraud happens on a card.......This company has discriminted against me and they have closed out the cases without following procedure. I knew this company had issues when they sent me a check and it was a returned check caused me to lose my bank account with US bank becasue i done a mobile deposit and they refused to correct the issue, even after a employee sent me an email stating they would give me 2 gift cards $150 a piece, and when i never recieved them I showed them the email and all i got was rebuttals...And for them to not need any information soon as I say my name they are hanging up on me without correcting these issues shows this place dont need to be in business..

They sent me an email and I provided the information they asked for but everytime i called to recieve a update the agents would start off asking me for the new case number but then they all would end up reading whatever they have in the computer to cause them to hang up on me again and each call I was hung up on and that was after they sent me an email stating they are going to reopen the case, So Im not sure if they are going to correct this becasue each time i call they read end up reading everything pertaining to the case and end up hanging up on me stating that it has been resolved even though it was not resolved someone needs to take all that out the computer cause they are not going to correct it if they are still hanging up on me..or someone needs to call me direct and thank you i hope they get this corrected because they really owe me compensation for all this they are sending me though and then i lost my bank account over bhn returned check...but thank you i hope they do correct this,someone should just call me...

BHN is not correcting this issue they still hang up on me when I call, even with this new case number sent to my email asking for some informatiion on the card and I responded with that info, yet that person never responded back to me so I call and eachtime i call they tell me they cant talk to me about this issue and hang up the phone very rude and this is a form of hate they are using by hanging up stating the issue is resolved, which makes me feel like I am being discrimented against because they should hve sent me a another card to replace this card since the dispute was filed 2 months ago, closed without resolvin they didnt instead they hang up on me never resolving the issue...

The person who took my my call was extremely patient , very knowledgeable and I already knew the problem before I didn't finish speaking , but allowed me to finish speaking. She also took the time to explain in detail of how or what I need to do is to avoid the issue again in the future.

Customer service was polite and proficient. I had a Joker prepaid gift card that expired with a balance remaining. The rep took my information and said that I new card with the remainder would be mailed to me. I'm trusting that I will receive the new card; will update review when I receive it.

I was given a Visa gift card purchased from Publix as a gift. The card didn't work. When I called the number on the back the rep said there is nothing wrong with it. I tried numerous times. The next time I called they wouldn't talk to me because the card wasn't "registered" to me even though I have that card and receipt. The next time I called they said the card had been used on an online bill paying website the same day as the original call to customer service. I think the Blackhawk customer service person I called the first time used the card. So the giver of the card has $57.50 stolen from them for a worthless $50 card. Total thieves. The fourth time I called they said they would investigate and get back to me which never happened. Never buy a gift card, especially one distributed and serviced by Blackhawk Network California. EDIT: I've given all the info you could ever need the first three times I called Blackhawk with no result, I have little faith Maurice will will be any different, but I've provided my info yet again to prove this is an actual review. The card and the receipt have never left my hand, but somehow were used immediately after I called Blackhawk and gave them all my info the first time.

I was mailed a Mastercard, which was declined by five different retailers. When I called the number on the card to request help, there was no option to talk to an agent. I used AI to find a phone number with live staff, only to be told by an agent there were glitches with my card. I requested a call back and never received one. I suspect the company makes it impossible for people to redeem their cards so they can keep the profits.

I have been trying since last Christmas to recover disputed charges, and all I have been getting is "we need paperwork that has already been submitted." I finally closed all the cases because it's frustrating now. If you are going to buy gift cards, make sure Blackhawk is not the issuer because you will have problems.

Talking to someone over the phone is always my preferred method over an automated system. Talking with a representative made my request custom and catered to me. I’d order from them again because of the aftercare of my purchase. Some companies are only after your initial business, not your continued business.

Received prepaid debit card that was dead on arrival. Despite numerous phone calls and an open support ticket, I’ve received nothing but excuses, lies and delays. I have called 9 times and spoken to 2 supervisors. Nothing gets resolved. They give the same excuses and lies.
