FRAU ALERT...TOOK £3,320 and I never heard from them again!!

Worst company I've ever dealt with. I ordered a dining table and 8 chairs at a value of £3,320 and was told I had to pay in full upfront and take delivery within 4-5 weeks. I was unease about this sonpaid on a credit card for protection....I'm glad I did!

After 4 weeks I didn't hear anything and left a message. Sally Chamley the owner took my order and money but refused to call me back.

I emailed Neil and again heard nothing back. I called several times a day for over a week with nothing back. I emailed over 150 times with nothing back. I couch Sally on Facebook and messaged her with no response. Again on LinkedIn with nothing back. I sent 4 recorded letters all of which were ignored.

Enough was enough and I contacted my credit card company to get my money back and within 2 weeks they managed to take the money out of her account.

This company is a scam and is being investigated by trading standards. I have also contacted the police and reported them for fraud.

Sally knew I'd just come back off maternity leave and saved hard to get that table and chairs. She's a mum of 2 herself but an utterly disgusting person to to this to many many people. If you pay on anything but a credit cards you'll never see your money again.

Save yourself the hassle and go to Houseology.com. Exactly same products but slightly more expensive. Worth every penny as you'll actually get your product. I ordered the exact same table and chairs and they were delivered within 4 weeks and had regular updates. They use the same designer so it's the same product which showed Sally is just taking your money and doing one. How she sleeps at night j don't know. Total fraud and its going to catch up with her.

Truly Awful

Re Order number: 901453

I ordered 8 Silver Chatworth dining chairs from this company August 26th 2014. I was advised, despite the fact they were 'on sale' on the website, that delivery would take approximately 10 weeks. I e-mailed the company weekly from about week 7 to ask for an update, and received on each occasion a very delayed e-mail response from Neil (who seems to be their only 'customer service' employee) to say that as per the original order, it would be approximately 10 weeks from date of order. His implied tone was one of why am I chasing them when this was made clear.

Unsurprisingly, we got past the expected delivery date and I had no word from the company. Upon chasing them multiple times, I received an e-mail response (again from Neil) to say unfortunately a 'problem at their suppliers' means they require an additional 21 days. Imagine my surprise, and of course, this validated entirely my lack of trust for their business practice and the reason I had been chasing them in the first instance. Suffice to say, we had no dining chairs for an occasion on which they were required, and I was beginning to worry we would not have them in time for Christmas either (with 14 people due to arrive).

18 days later on November 19th, I e-mail them again. Once more, a tardy response from Neil, and I did not hear back from him until late on the 20th after chasing again and again. This time, I was told of another 'manufacturer delay' which would extend the leadtime by a further 8 weeks. This makes a total of 21 weeks to have 8 dining chairs delivered by this company !

By way of recompense, they suggested that I may well like to take delivery instead of 8 white leather dining chairs (instead of the 8 silver material chairs we had specifically ordered), as these were already in stock. Clearly, if we had wanted 8 white leather dining chairs we would have ordered those in the first place. I declined this very generous offer and asked for a full refund. Suffice to say I have not had the refund made to me yet. They are repeatedly quoting their T&Cs to me, which they believe say they have 28 days to make a refund. It is November 26th today, and despite multiple and repeated requests for a) a call from their manager / MD and b) an explanation as to why they believe 28 days is acceptable when they have had my money, and I have had no goods, for over 3 months, I have had nothing other than a generic response from this Neil that 'we will make your refund within 28 days'.

I finally had an e-mail from their accounts department, who seemed to be suggesting that the reason it can take this long is because of 'cash management' their side. Suffice to say, this is deeply concerning as any company withholding customer money for working capital reasons can only have major problems, in my opinion. From what I can tell, there are two people that work for this business and neither have any real interest in keeping customers onside.

As it stands therefore, I am owed almost £2100 by a company that I do not trust to refund it to me. All they keep saying is 'within 28 days'. I have never come across this level of awful customer service before; even Furniture Village, who are universally panned by reviews, provided me a better service than this 'luxury' company when we had problems with an order from them recently.

I feel it likely that my credit card company will end up being involved in chasing this company, and I am in the process of reporting them to Trading Standards for an abysmal and highly elusive / clandestine strategy with regards to taking orders and their subsequent dealing with customers. They took my payment very happily, I find it incredible they are unable to load up their credit card machine and issue a refund (as I know many others with small businesses who issue refunds instantly, the only delay is how long you credit card takes to show it on your statement). I have of course yet to receive any pro-active call or e-mail from the company or management.

In conclusion: Avoid this company, you will likely be waiting a long time for any goods you order, if they ever show up, and if you end up in a similar position to mine you will struggle to get your money back.

I will update this review as / when there is any change in my refund situation.
