Looking at 36 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers expressed dissatisfaction with the high prices, finding the cost of tickets, food, and other services to be excessive and a rip-off. Reviewers frequently encountered issues with the service, including rides constantly breaking down, long queues, and poor organization, which led to a disappointing visit. The quality of the park was also a concern, with many feeling it was run down, dirty, and lacked upgrades, especially given the high entry fees. However, some customers also noted positive experiences with the staff, describing them as friendly, helpful, and amazing, particularly in guest services and medical teams. Additionally, a few other people also felt that certain shows, like the Hot Ice Show, were of high quality and provided excellent entertainment.

Thrilling rides with staff all going above and beyond

Our family had a superb day out (wet weather notwithstanding) and found that the staff were all going the extra mile to help their customers.

The choice of rides here is excellent, with something for all tastes and ages. They've kept a few classics running that I remember enjoying as a lad growing up and they've plenty of new and exciting rides to cater for thrillseekers. One or two of my favourites were closed (Valhalla and Infusion) when we went which was a shame, but this not being peak season I suppose they have to be maintained/improved at some point.

I'd like to pass on my thanks to the staff though who promptly attended and resolved problems with arcade machines, walked with us to show us the way to the faciliites and most importantly returned to me my missing car key! They were all professional, polite and friendly and are a genuine asset to the business (I hope your hard work is appreciated!).

All you can eat Pizza buffet with freshly made pizza was very good value and worth a mention also. All in all a very memorable and enjoyable day out. Don't hesitate to book, you'll have a great time.

Wrong wrong wrong

Used to love the pleasure beach, not a big rollercoaster fan but enjoyed the side attractions and atmosphere. Now some numpty has decided you’ve got to pay to get in even if not going on rides. My 3 year old pays the same as my 10 year old? Ruined a once great family place!

Won't be back

Sorry to say, won't be back and cannot recommend. Been to Pleasure Beach many times over the years and enjoyed the trips enormously. As with all things, tickets available, in advance, online. So I booked. Just one ticket. Couldn't find the spectator option anywhere so assumed my partner could come in with me, maybe free or nominal sum to come in the park. Got to the gate and the full ramification was explained in detail. You cannot refund ticket. You must buy full price, £46 ticket to enter, even if not going on ANY rides. The choice was, pay the extra for entry or lose the money already paid. We paid up, got in, and sure enough, rides were great, FOR ME but there was very little else for my other half. VERY expensive day out. Now that I know, I will not be back. Been to plenty other parks who offer non-riders plenty other facilities.

Totally scam you with the prices

Totally scam you with the prices. Bought tickets last week for Friday £160 then got email today, the day before, that it's 2 for 1 tomorrow. Sent email to say that is unfair but told flat that a refund cannot be made or cancellation. Money grabbers!

A great family day out

We went midweek in September and managed to get on all the top rides more than once. The best rides were Icon and The Big One. The only suggestion I would make is having vegan food options in the park.

Blackpool Displeasure Beach.

We arrived at the Pleasure Beach shortly after 14:00. The park was extremely busy with long lines of queues at all rides.

We decided to take the 1st ride as 2 adults whilst the other adult and child queued for the Ghost Train.

Our queue took 45 minutes to get on to the ride (Ice Blast).

We finished our turn on the ride, went to join my husband and grandson at The Ghost Train to see they had not moved to even half way up the queue.

My 7 year old grandson was very upset and asked to try The Alice in Wonderland ride instead.
AGAIN a 40 minute wait to no avail for all of us we decided to try elsewhere....Wallace and Gromit.
This time an hour long wait and we were only 3/4 distance through the queue!!

We left the Pleasure Beach just before 19:00 having experienced 1 ride!!!!!

I contacted BPB several times, firstly via phone to be told by a very abrupt person I had to email my complaint.

I did several times, received 1 response saying they would look into it then no more for weeks after which I sent several emails asking for a response they replied with emails advertising up and coming events.

I finally sent a recorded delivery letter and amazingly received a response just after they would have received it with a very poor sorry and brief explanation for their extremely poor customer service on the day and in response to my emails. Shocking to say the least. A totally disappointing, costly experience. £135.00 for 4 people and 2 of us only managed to get on one ride after hours of queueing at several. Our 7 year old grandson didn't get on any and cried all the way leaving the Pleasure Beach Shame on you Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

Where do I start?

Where do I start?

If you want to mingle amongst tracksuit wearing chav morons then this is the place for you. If you like to walk along the promenade and sea front listening to foul language, taking in lung fulls of exhaled cannabis smoke and dodge drunks....then this is certainly your ideal destination for a holiday.

You must prepare yourself to eat nothing but fish and chips or donuts (there is the opportunity for a burger here and there) but things like broccoli and carrots don't seem to be imported to Blackpool. If you can suffer sitting amongst the drunks and filthy tables in one of the pubs you stumble across, you may just get some of these rare vegetables served to you from a microwavable bag. That said, there is a Greggs if you get really stuck!

Staff who operate the piers can hardly string a sentence together or even give you the pleasure of eye contact but are happy to take your highly priced ride tickets which is the only time they manage to drag their knuckles off the floor.

All in all Blackpool is probably the worst place I have been to in recent years and my childhood recollection of a lovely open top tram and viewing the illuminations are all but a distant memory. The illuminations are nothing compared to times gone by, the promenade is pitch black and a few dated lights and a string of bulbs from one end of the sea front to the other is about all you get. If you feel like being spanked and disappointed a little more, go and take your kids to the Pleasure Beach....£180 for a family of 4, for two kids under 5 and two adults merely there to supervise!

They say sea air does you good right? Well not here as all you will get is the odd waft of sewage and drains mixed in with the aroma of cigarette smoke and horse manure from the horse drawn carriages.

A good night's sleep will be a miracle as it would appear it's the 'boy racer' capital of England. There is nothing like trying to sleep with the relaxing sound of a big bore exhaust from a WRX being floored, or the beautiful tone of an underage biker with no helmet on blipping the throttle of his prized 125 at the lights.

There is a plus side to visiting Blackpool though, a new game I hadn't played before. I think it's called Pram Dodging? The rules are quite simple.....dodge the dog s**t, dodge the butt ends and other rubbish strewn everywhere and try not to clip the heals of the fat woman in see through leggings 3 sizes to small for her and finally....bonus points for restraint and not knocking a drunken dad's cap off his head and remarking on the £10 tattoo you've just tried to decipher on his sunburnt naked back.

I think next year for a short trip for the family I'll try Beirut.

Disappointed

Quite long this sorry, left a little bewildered to be honest, would I go back, probably not, would have I gone if I know what I know now, probably not! Anyway, £42 each, plus another £25 on top for ‘speedy passes’ which aren’t really speedy at all! They should be named ‘virtual queue passes’ because that is what they actually are! Clever bit of new marketing there! So, you book a ride then the countdown begins, say x amount mins until you can go on your ride, so what can you do in that time? Go on another, well, not really because chances are (and it happened, twice!) you’ll have to leave a queue after god knows how long to get over to the ride you booked! As it’s your responsibility to get to your booked ride in time!
I asked a member of staff is there any allowance of say ten mins in case you’re on another ride as I can’t find the answer online, they didn’t know! They said it’s new and only changed to this in the last few weeks! I actually said it’s a bit stupid really, to which they agreed, quite a few of them actually. In a few cases we arrrived at our booked ride a bit early so had to wait anyway, though some staff just let us on.. only mins left! Guess we’d done our time! Lol, possibly not bad if you have children to keep entertained, you can book them, then go entertain them, but I don’t! they are NOT speedy passes! I cannot decide if they are a good idea or not! We still only got on about 7 rides all day, because even when you booked, still had to wait ages! Somewhere! More drinks n donuts bought! 🤷‍♂️ They want you to get these VIP passes, this ensures hardly any waiting but at an extra 50 quid each, yikes! makes for an already expensive overpriced day out ridiculously more so… regardless of speedy passes cutting your waiting down a bit, they are missold! I have amazing memories of Blackpool pleasure beach, but it’s too higher price to pay now for such a place! Was much easier with a wristband! Absolutely loved Icon! Got on it twice, loved the big one, but I don’t think I’ll go again! Another Big issue to regarding the ‘inaptly named speedy pass system’ you can only book 1 ride at a time too and cannot fast pass another ride whilst you’re on countdown for another! If they have the tech to offer the booking system then surely you should be able to use fast track on another ride using it! Maybe they’re just not THAT clever!
Be prepared to spend ALOT of money here. Or, go to a prettier theme park where you don’t feel so crammed in and ripped off. Not good value for money! On a positive, I found the staff Very pleasant. If you do go, be prepared to feel disappointed and don’t hype up the kids too much! All about pleasurebeach getting as much money as possible, such long queues, if you can afford to then get the VIP option! Or just don’t go! Sad

DO NOT buy tickets for Blackpool…

PLEAE be wary when you buy tickets for Blackpool pleasure beach in advance. They do NOT notify you of advance notice when rides are not in service. The infusion ride faulted whilst we were there (waited in queue one hour and got to the front) & rather than apologise for the inconvenience they stated the ride was closed for the day. How about it's a techninal fault, we apologise however we wish to ensure your safety and hope to get the ride back up & running as soon as we can.
Customer service is not so great we complained to 2 members of staff at the door entrance who were oblivious & couldn't care less!! 😱
Luckily whilst going to another ride we saw some others who had been waiting in the queue with us. They told us they complained to customer services & were given a one ride fast pass. We then did the same & used it on the Pepsi Max.
Overall Blackpool is a great place. Horsecarriages, Pier, Beach (gorgeous walk when weather is lovely) promenade, pleasure beach, zoo , waterpark. So much for families. No1 in the UK I say!! Just be mindful how busy it can get!!

Over priced and a complete rip off

Back in 2008 I would have given the pleasure beach 5☆ rating, unfortunately now there lucky to get 1☆!!
There extremely over priced! £120 for 3 people, unlimited cold drinks £10, apart from it doesn't include much! Then if you want pepsi you have to pay 40p each time due to the sugar in it 🤦‍♀️
All there games in the park are a fix, you can't take your own picture of your kids with the characters, it has to be a professional photo that you have to pay for! Your only getting on about 3 rides in a full day due to the cues! It's hours and hours of standing around, far too many people in the park at once! Food is absolutely ridiculously priced! If you want a day out at the pleasure beach I suggest you take out a mortgage before hand!!
Sorry pleasure beach but I won't be back! All them years I came here at £25 a wristband, it was great! Now its £42 per person, plus £20 parking, plus food and drinks.. waaaay to over priced now :(

Speedy pass a valuable addition.

Went on August bank holiday weekend, expected it to be very busy so for the first time ever, made the decision to purchase VIP speedy passes for myself and my son.
I realise this would be very expensive for a family but you definitely get what you pay for.
We were there for 8 hours and enjoyed 25+ rides working out at less than £4 each.
Worth saving the extra for and make it that extra special treat.
I found most of the staff to be quite jolly and chatty when engaged which i find quite remarkable when doing a job which must be very monotonous at times.
I understand the frustration of others at the number of people on the park causing large queues, but overheads on any theme park must be very high and the alternative to high numbers is higher gate prices which would cause even more complaint.

Would definitely visit again with speedy pass but it won't be for a while as I'm not well off by any margin but do feel it offers much better value.

Absolute disappointment don’t waste your money!

As travelling to the pleasure beach the Kids where super excited, happy smiles
Within half hour of entering the park they were fed up! We paid £130 for 4 of us and we cued up to an hour for each ride, didn’t go on any of the rides we wanted to as the cue times where even longer! We went on 2 rides in 3 hours, absolute waste of time and money but I am more disappointed the fact that my kids where sad after all the excitement on the way, the staff are rude and miserable and everything is over priced, we bought refill bottles and cued ages to get them topped up, never again! Absolute waste of money! And a big let down to my kids

Simply unacceptable in every aspect

Spent £190 to take my grandchildren for a day out. E-ticket system is a complete nightmare and causes inconvenience adding to the delays and queues on every ride. Wait times on the less popular rides at 11 am was 30-40 minutes with the big sought out ones over 90 minutes. By the time the afternoon came and the crowds were swarming in, those queue times doubled and trebled. Big One wait time at 2 pm was no less than 4 hours!

Pointless asking the staff for help or advice who are, almost without exception, rude and uncaring.

in the 5 hours we were there we managed 3 small rides and were happy to leave as the total lack of distancing and hygiene were becoming frightening.

One of the worst consumer experiences I've had in my long life. Won't be repeating it.

Absolutely shocking

Absolutely shocking! You have to buy a ticket to ride as the park says it's to limit the amount of people there! Well, it never worked as the park was bouncing and there were queues all over! To add insult to injury, you had people with fast passes constantly make your queue longer. The only way to get on the rides quicker is to pay extra money for fast passes which are overpriced at best (£25-£50.) Whatever happened to getting value for money!!!? Be better off using the rides on the piers.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PLACE!!

What a wasted day and waste of money! It’s an expensive trip to the pleasure beach as it is but you can justify it if you get your money’s worth! Well £170 to get my family in and we went on 2 rides! 4 hour queue for the Pepsi max, that was most of the day gone! They’re greedy at the pleasure beach. There should be a limit on the amount of people they allow into the park but money is obviously more important to them! You expect queues but not most of the day stood waiting for one ride!! Most of the rides where like this. Even in Nickelodeon land you’re looking at about an hour for a ride. Stressed out kids bored of waiting and guilt ridden parents hyping up a fun day out to their kids for them to be highly disappointed!! Last time I will be going to such an unorganised money greedy place!!!

Went today (23 August) the park is wonderful, but honestly we got there at 10:15 and in 5 hours managed just 3 rides because of the queues. Left at 3:30 as couldn't queue no longer as the kids were fed up. 3 rides and maybe 3 minutes of fun. I give it 2 starts instead of one cos it was a nice park and clean.

Unnecessary stress

Unable to contact the beach
My daughter works for the NHS and is doing lots of hours so as our daughter’s parents we try and deal with emails bookings to help out normally we have everything done to the latter however we made a small mistake by mixing up on one of the photos we have tried for hours to rectify this we have called several times no answer we are now concerned that there will be a problem at the other end we have looked to edit the photo nothing telling us how this can be done the last thing our daughter needs is added stress created by a little mistake everything with hotel booking ran smoothly sandcastle booking great easy it’s just the pleasure beach that’s giving us a concern so Ananda Thompson maybe you could look at putting this in the website as nobody answering phones no
