We were shopping for walking boots for my husband. We were helped by Lily who was immensely helpful and knowledgeable about the boots. He tried on several pairs and found one that was just right.

Temperature's dipping below zero degrees, I needed warmware that actually keeps me warm. Got talking to one staff member, who we discovered we both have metal implants, he went through all my options accordingly as I struggle to stay warm. Really useful advice, I tried on the suggested gloves and hat, and immediately felt the benefits. Much appreciated the friendly service, felt very attended to and bought items that will actually do the job!

Went out to Brighton today and after I got on the bus realised the bobble had come apart on my recently purchased bobble hat. What use is a bobble hat without its bobble? Pleased to see the local Blacks store right across from the bus stop, so decided to pop in and see if they could help. The bearded gent was very helpful and offered to exchange the hat and went out of his way to get the same design, which was not on display. I was pleased and surprised by that great service. Thank you.

Lily was very helpful. She was very knowledgeable about the products and made some useful suggestions.

Following an accident caused by a brand-new pair of walking boots – purchased elsewhere - I visited Blacks, North Street, Brighton to buy a pair of Brasher walking boots. There were three different types of Brasher boots. The assistant, Eloise, was extraordinarily helpful, patient and kind. She observed my walking gait and gave excellent advice, recommending walking sticks to help with my balance, set them up for me and I purchased them. It was an all round excellent experience with a very kind and intelligent assistant.

Harry was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Gave me good advice on choosing the right back back and walking shoes for my upcoming trip to Peru(Inca trail)

I recently visited Blacks Mountain Shop and was fortunate to be assisted by Eloise. From the moment I walked in, they were welcoming and attentive. They listened to my needs and offered thoughtful suggestions based on their knowledge of outdoor gear.

Thanks to Eloise, I left the shop feeling confident I’d made the right purchase. I highly recommend asking for them if you're shopping at Blacks — they're a true asset to the store!

Lily went the extra mile for me on the 13/11/24. I visited the Brighton store looking at women's walking boots. Tried on several pairs but they seemed a little tight across the toes she offered me the next size up but too big. Lily then offered me a different brand that were known to be a little more roomy, that with a half size up and i was in heaven! She even offered me walking socks to try them on properly. I left the shop feeling confident that I had bought the most comfortable pair of walking boots! Thank you Lily for your excellent customer service and patience in helping me buy the right product for my aging feet!!! 😀

Went in for a pair of walking boots. Was assisted by Lily who had good product knowledge and was super patient while I tried and retried about 6 pairs. Always a good experience shopping at this branch.

Great Customer Service, Lily was sent to help me through the different types of hiking trousers with a lot of patience and insights since I don't know much about hiking gears. The price was also right so happy days!

I went in looking for a pair of hiking boots and Soraya was exemplary, she knew a lot about the shoes available and clearly cared about the products, using some herself, and I trusted what she said. Black Friday sale prices were a bonus and I never felt pressured at any point. I would happily visit again for my next purchase.

Visited today and wasn't looking for anything in particular, but ended up purchasing a new jacket thanks to the staff in there. They were very helpful and Harry especially gave great customer service! Would definitely recommend a trip to this store if you're looking for something specific, I'll definitely be going back!

Another outstanding customer service in the Blacks shop in Brighton! Mike was extremely knowledgeable and he took his time to measure my feet. I have learned that one of my feet are half size bigger and I have been wearing the wrong size for my walking boots. Therefore, after trying few different pairs, Mike offered me a great pair of Scarpa walking boots.
Exceptional customer service! I will definitely return again and recommend this shop and their staff to anyone!
PS: I will like to mention Jude too, which kindly has helped me on a different occasion. As well as the lovely representative at the till, which I don't know her name. She helped me to replace a different pair of walking shoes.
