Refused refund during extraordinary circumstances
I booked a prepaid, non-refundable stay at Blackstone Mountain Lodge (Aug 18–23, 2025) for CAD $3,145.88. Days before travel, Air Canada canceled all my flights due to the nationwide strike, making it impossible for me to reach Canmore. I notified the hotel immediately. Staff acknowledged the situation and even suggested I cancel through Booking.com so the room could be resold. Despite this, management refused to authorize any refund, citing “policy.” I received no services but the hotel kept my entire payment. This is unfair and potentially profiting twice if the room was resold
