Bought a pair of blaklader bib n brace through a third party company 6months ago.the stitching on the pocket and gusset area have split.i contacted the the company to be told that blacklader deal with defects directly and gave me their email address.sent an email to them which I got no reply whatsoever,tried emailing again still no reply. I contacted the company I bought from(which couldn’t be more helpful)to tell them that I haven’t had a reply from blaklader at all.they said,they would contact blacklader themselves to make them aware that I’m trying to contact them.so I tried emailing them again after receiving confirmation that the had been in contact with blaklader,no reply.tried another email couple of days ago,nothing.as a blaklader customer for 4-5 years now I’m disappointed in their customer service

The knee pads are not sewn well, the Velcro is not in the right places. new pants and the zippers are already missing teeth

I bought a pair of Blaklader craftsman x1900 in August 2024, having worn them a few times i was really impressed with the quality of these trousers and were very comfortable, however the following December 4 months later I was having to contact blaklader as the pants had started to rip in an area that wasn't considered has an area that came into contact with anything I did in my daily routine at work so they where returned to blaklader and they were exchanged quite quickly which was a relief I received my ne pair at the beginning of January 2025 and last week I sent the pair back to blaklader as they had ripped in the same place as before.
I can only assume that there is a design fault with the trousers as the material was wearing thin just above a hem line on the thigh, blaklader customer services have been great with acknowledgement of the issue aware currently issuing a refund as I am a little apprehensive of having another pair and being so expensive I would of hoped for a good few years wear before any deterioration occurred so this is why im giving the craftsman x1900 a low score however their customer services get a 5☆ for their cooperation throughout this matter.

I bought a pair of garden trousers a while ago. I was looking for a pair of trousers that could cope with brambles, roses, all the the plants that rip trousers to shreds. These definitely cope with that. Would benefit from an elasticated waist of some kind, but over all a good winter trouser. They get too hot in the summer so looking for a lighter ones for summer work.

Have purchased hoodies for everyone that work on site for our company and very happy,Had logos printed on the arms and on the back. Also got the stretch trousers ,very comfortable to work in .

Think the clothing is great but don’t use the online shop. Total rip off merchants. They refuse to exchange and are as helpful as a brushless toothbrush.

I used to rate this workwear as the best out there with tough materials and stitching, washed great, knee pads always in the right place and didn’t slide about when working, plenty pockets, stylish etc. I couldn’t fault them. Sadly a few years back the materials changed and the sizings became ridiculous. You could order two garments the same size and they weren’t even close never mind if you ordered two differing garments expecting them to be a similar size. I’m not sure what body type these were designed for a few years back. The thighs on the legs would have fitted a 28 waist - plain silly. On top of this the returns procedure is difficult for what is an expensive garment. As mentioned used to love these.

I needed a new waterproof shell jacket for autumn as my old waterproof coat was proving impossible to re-proof. I needed plenty of pockets, a good fit and durability. This ticked all the boxes. It has kept me dry and is surprisingly warm for such a thin jacket. The best feature is the hood. It has a drawstring at the front under the chin, a Velcro strip at the top and another drawstring at the back. When adjusted in combination, you get a perfect fit. This means when you turn your head the hood turns with you, which is a huge improvement over previous coats I’ve had where to hood stays still and obscures my vision. It feels much safer when crossing roads.

That was until the drawstring at the back came loose after only 3 weeks. It’s not snapped, or been cut, it’s just come loose from whatever was holding it inside the lining of the hood. It’s only had light use, and I’ve not used the hood very often. I haven’t touched the drawstring since first adjusting it. It has just worked loose. Now, with the hood fitting snugly it slides down over my eyes without the drawstring at the back to pull it back. So now, I have to have the hood loose, which means it no longer moves with my head and is no longer as comfortable or well fitting.
I thought I was buying a quality product, but I was very wrong. I’d have been better off buying something much cheaper. For the price I paid, I’d expect it to last much longer than 3 weeks before it starts falling apart.

So, please learn from my mistake, do not buy this jacket, buy something cheaper and then you won’t be so disappointed when it breaks. It will also probably last longer. I bought another coat at the same time, a winter parker for when it gets cold. I’ve not needed to wear it yet. It has the same hood design, so now I’m worried the drawstring will fail on that too and I will have wasted even more money.

Update: Blaklader have sent me a replacement jacket. I just gave them a little more information and they sent it very quickly. Very good response and service. I can’t comment on the durability of the replacement coat as I am now wearing the winter parka and won’t be wearing the lighter jacket until spring.
