While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more
To protect platform integrity, every review on our platform—verified or not—is screened by our 24/7 automated software. This technology is designed to identify and remove content that breaches our guidelines, including reviews that are not based on a genuine experience. I have been using it for the past one…
I have been using it for the past one year to date with the latest version which is smooth to use. Blender being an open free software it has great features, which i have used in 3d modelling, 3d animation and scripting.
Just awesome 3D software for artist
Just awesome software for 3D artist. This is all in one software.
It's hard to learn Blender
It's hard to learn Blender, but I am really happy with the software, plus it's free and has a great community.
Blender is great for 3D print sculpturing!
Blender is a fantastic program! I use it to sculpt models for 3D printing. It has truly sparked my interest in CAD modeling and inspired me to pursue mechanical engineering at university. While it can be challenging to learn, I think it’s a great software, especially with the many tutorials available that showcase how to use it.
Thank you for kick starting my career
Thank you for kick starting my career, amazing what you get for na-da.
The software is good. The people who work in bug handling...not so much
The software is pretty good, if difficult to learn to use. Unfortunately, it advertises an auto-save feature, which doesn't really exist. It auto-saves under rare, very restricted circumstances, contrary to the claim made by the manual. The manual states that one can set a delay and the software will auto-save on that interval. This is not at all how the software actually behaves. The engineers admitted that the software only rarely saves and only under fairly vague circumstances - only a small number of specific types of changes would cause the software to think the project has changed. The claim is that saving takes too long, so they cannot actually implement the auto-save feature advertised in the manual. Though the handful of times it has auto-saved when I've been using it I haven't even noticed, only discovering that a save had executed when I specifically went and checked. And no, that's not on a very high spec machine.
The Github page has a link for reporting issues with the manual. When reported, it was first insisted that the feature description is correct and eventually they resorted to claiming that the link for reporting bugs in the manual is not the place for reporting bugs in the manual.
Awesome free program that can compete with the other industry standards
Awesome free program that can compete with the other (very costly) industry standards. Obviously, like any 3D software of that caliber, it's not beginner-friendly. That's in the nature of the task.
great free software
Bad program it cashes every time and…
Bad program it cashes every time and nothing saved 0 IQ
IT'S THE WORST SOFTWARE EVER MADE
IT'S THE WORST SOFTWARE EVER MADE. The physics engine is so random and not realistic. THE UI IS TERRIBLE. Every detail about this app is the Worst. I don't know how people can use this app. And about computer graphics. IT LOOKS VERY BAD. Minecraft with shaders is a better option than this blocky and gray thing. Do not recommend 1/10.
Great CAD software
A great CAD software; works very well. You can build literally anything. You can create videos/movies, animations, cool movable characters and objects. You can do lots of detailed work, and you can sculpt. So basically you have every function a CAD programm should have.
The simple downside of Blender Foundation
The simple downside of this company is that they deliver something that, by design, isn't compatible with all the plugins every two years (Long Term Support usual lifespan) if the paid plugins developers aren't fully honest. If they could only update for free, maybe, we could have a better sustainability. Unfortunately, this is something not under direct Blender Foundation's control. But what if they improve this flawed design inside their software forcing the others to comply for a better code? Who knows...
For the future, if they don't provide a retopology engine perfectly integrated with a better UV management this software will be easier to use only for 3D printing: forget to make perfect 3D textured assets ready-to-game engines. Also, many companies (too many) judge you from Blender's results. Not a good deal, after all. It's not time saving from the gaming industry side, when provided "as it is". Certainly, if you can spend plenty of money in paid plugins every two years, the situation is different.
Due to NVIDIA closed source mentality and considerable investments in their company, Blender Foundation paradoxically don't support third party open source video drivers on Linux side, maintained by the community. Which means, if they don't embrace Vulkan API via AMD/Intel MESA, the Linux end user forever will be forced to chose between open source drivers or proprietary ones. And those last ones really sucks, outside Blender. Or, again, spend more money for a dedicated machine only for Blender.
Update - Intel ARC cards performs better than Radeon via openAPI. Raytracing is fully supported via intel_level_zero_gpu_raytracing package downloadable as a stand alone rpm if you are an openSUSE user (under openSUSE website, software search section) and you need other components already available inside the official repository. All this, thanks to the Linux open source community not certainly because of Blender Foundation.
Love it
So many things have improved since Blender regained its open license.
I can't describe how happy I am to use software from a company that isn't trying to rip me off with new user policy changes, and buggy tools.
Blender foundation will always have a warm place in my heart. Thank You everyone for your hard work.
Delighted we switched over to Blender
Delighted we switched over to Blender 3 years ago from many expensive years of using Studio Max with multiple licenses. No turning back, and we 100% enjoy using Blender for all our 3D modeling, visualization, animation and rendering projects. Another great Dutch product and kudos to Ton and the dev team in Amsterdam! Love you guys :)
This is the most amazing and complete…
This is the most amazing and complete software I have ever used, im a mechanical designer used to many CAD softwares and Blender feels so modern and well thought, this is pretty much the only software I would rate as more than 5 stars.
great program for free
great program for free, been using it for 3-4 years and never dissapoints
Literally the best software around.
What's great about the software is that it's not just for 3D. It's for 3D, 2D, video production, color grading, etc. etc. There are only a few things this software can't do!
And best of all, it's intuitive and easy to learn!
Perfecto!
Perfecto! And free of charge as well, a review is about the least I can do
Best 3D Editor for Indie and AA Studios
I am working in a small indie studio "Schlosskey" for a year and we are using Blender for the following reasons:
1). It is the best alternative for another 3Deditors. And in Texturing/Lightning/Material Processing is a gamechanger.
2.) A lot of free and useful tutorials
3.) Open source software and endless count of plugins
4.) Free
There is only 1 disadvantage: not user-friendly for beginners.
