Bloc hotel stay I stayed in the bloc hotel the night…

I stayed in the bloc hotel the night before my flight in august as the flight was a very early time. I’ve stayed here before and it never fails to impress me it’s modern, clean, and very comfortable. So easy to check in and out. You can use your own phone or I pad in the room. Would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend.

Sleep impossible @ bloc gatwick

Bloc hotels sound amazing - optimum room temperature as agreed with a Scandinavian Sleep Institute, powerful drench showers - just perfect for a great night sleep.

The room however was far from this promise.

1. Optimum room temperature for sleep is between 16 and 18 degrees however bloc rooms can’t drop the temperature lower than 20 which means the rooms are far too warm for optimum sleep.

2. Drench showers are far from powerful and for our room they dripped large amounts of water every hour or so so sleep was impossible.

3. Turning off the lights in the room leaves the outside purple strip light still on and with a blind that does not block out light, the room is bathed an a purple glow - again impossible to sleep.

After 2 hours trying to sleep we had to go to reception and ask for another room which was given to us hence the 2 star rather than 1 star review

Bloc also refunded 20% of the price however, with the lack of sleep this seems to be in appropriate for the promises the gave on their website

If you do plan staying at bloc - go for a cheep room with no windows but we will never stay there again unless these issues are fully resolved and can’t recommend bloc hotels to anyone. Pay the higher price and go to a hotel where sleep is possible.

Absolutely brilliant

Absolutely brilliant, what can I say, outstanding customer service at the Gatwick hotel. Through the COVID crisis my booking was cancelled and Leticia helped me rebook for next year with ease.

Bloc Gatwick wonderful start to our holiday.

Stayed in this hotel the night before our flight. The VIP room was lovely and we had the runway room as requested. I found the staff very helpful and friendly. It was a really good start to our holiday. We have booked the same type of room for a holiday next year.
