The pickup was really smooth, we received the car with a full tank. The informational sticker in the car was quite useful and we were able to use the car during the whole rental period without any issues. The dropoff was also very quick and easy.

Excellent car - no big hospitality and kindness

Customer service was excellent. However, the vehicle had some minor problems. The oil change indicator light turned on soon after we left the rental lot. The rear gate’s push-button open did not work.

I really liked that we didn’t waste time when we picked up the car, we could leave immediately, the car itself was super clean. The booking was easy, and fast. I specifically liked that we didn’t have to pay the tax road based on the kilometres after having paid for the whole booking, as that would not have been forseeable.

We were very satisfied with the quick processing upon arrival and even faster when returning the keys after the trip (just drop off). The liability waiver came at only a small additional cost. Clean car, in perfect condition, friendly service. It was our second time with Blue Car Rental. We will definitely use them again next time.

Easy pick-off and drop-off.
Prices are obviously expensive (just like everywhere in iceland!) but we surely got the best deal for the complete package with insurances.
I used a promo-code from reddit with i.e. a 'second driver' for free.

Got a Dacia Duster (Used Model) for our trip to Iceland, with all the zero waiver and protection included.
Check in was amazing, the guy at the desk was very patient explaining all details to us in a clear way.
Checkout was also good!

Amazing experience, i took full insurance, and when i dropped off the car, they didn’t Even looked at it ! Staff is really kind and helpful !

At the check in, it was easy, got my car key from a box and from there found my car in the parking lot. The car was clean and smells good. A very good car indeed. At check out, the process didnt even take a minute. Super easy and fast. I loved it. The communication with me before and after getting the car was clear and objective. With directions where to get the car and where to drop it off.

Everything was pretty well done. The company was precise, clear, fair and extremely helpful. The car they gave us highly surpassed our expectations

Service was quick and friendly. The online platform works well, people at BlueCar Rental KEF are friendly.

The rental itself was too expensive, even by Icelandic standards. We rented a used car and paid about the amout the car is worth if you would buy it. Still we were motivated to buy an additional full coverage insurance once we took over the car at KEF. Noone accompanied us to the car, it was "here´s your keys, good luck" at the counter. No service. You grab your car from the parking lot yourself after looking for it in the rain.

During our travels we were hit with a false accusation of not paying parking fees. We sent BlueRental the proof of payment, still they kept writing emails back and forth and charged 2.000 ISK as a "service-charge" on top of the falsely claimed 750 ISK by parka.is. The charge was dropped after we were able to clarify with the parking fee provider parka.is themselves. Instead of resolving the issue quickly we had to write 7-8 emails during our holidays. Not a good experience. BlueCar should provide better service here, as this is surely happening all the time. Fully automated camera parking systems running on AI number plate recognition have a considerable failure rate. This needs to be resolved by local businesses, not by tourists.

The car itself was ok, but not clean when we took it over. After 100 km a warning light appeared and kept giving us company throughout the trip. The BlueCar Rental hotline told us to ignore ist, which we did. Not a good feeling when you are driving in remote areas with your family. But hey, "don´t worry"...

When we gave the car back BluCar Rental didn´t even take a look at it. Just took the keys at the counter and commented "It´s fully insured, don´t worry".

All in all not a good customer journey, and a hugely expensive one.

What made the experience great was that the car broke down!!! But when it did, they sent a wrecker out quickly to pick the car and us up, and we managed to get back on the road—in a better car—in just a couple hours! We couldn't have asked for more. Being well taken care of when there's a problem is the ultimate test.
