Service Stops at Purchase: Don't Expect Help Later

I strongly advise against using Blue Future Solar (bluefuturesolar.com) , South Africa, due to their lack of after-sales service, inadequate documentation, and potential compliance issues, as I experienced firsthand. There appears to be only one person in this company, the sales person, as I never got another person to communicate with me, nor was another person, e.g. a service person, mentioned in any of the communication with Blue Future Solar. The teams who carry out the work are contractors. Unfortunately, I discovered these shortcomings only after engaging their services. In 2024, I had Blue Future Solar install a hydronic underfloor heating system and an extensive photovoltaic setup in my home, overseen by both an architect and a builder. A month into utilizing the system, I encountered an inverter / battery issue, but the response from Blue Future Solar was disappointingly slow. The problem was eventually resolved by another installer hired by Blue Future Solar. In February 2025, another inverter malfunction occurred, and once again, the response was lethargic. I was told I would need to wait 10 days for the installer to address the issue. The company’s response to my frustration was, "We understand, but we have other customers, and you have to wait." Waiting weeks for a solution when your home's energy supply is at stake is far from acceptable. I decided to hire a certified local Sunsynk solar inverter installer, who adeptly addressed the issue at hand. However, this process uncovered several compliance concerns, some of which posed a potential fire hazard. In response, Blue Future Solar reacted defensively, dismissing my concerns and requesting a report, while assuring me that they would rectify any compliance issues that arose. Notably, a Certificate of Compliance (CoC) from Blue Future Solar was only issued in December 2024—six months after installation—upon the architect's request. This CoC was signed by an electrician who had not performed an on-site inspection. There are still unresolved questions regarding the discrepancies in the data on the CoC that Blue Future Solar needs to address. Furthermore, none of the equipment installed was registered for warranty. After repeatedly reaching out to Blue Future Solar, I am still awaiting the invoices related to the equipment so I can claim warranty coverage in the event of future problems. I sadly know by now that Blue Future Solar is unreliable, and the company might cease to exist any time. Their social media has not featured any new project testimonials since 2023, leaving their current activities unclear. You may wonder why I didn’t choose a local company. The primary reason for selecting Blue Future Solar was their ability to provide both a hydronic underfloor heating system and solar energy solutions, offering the convenience of a single point of contact under the responsibility of one company. Unfortunately, it has become clear that Blue Future Solar stands for "no point of contact" and "no responsibility".
