They have unfair practices in there auto renewel system to ensure that it is almost impossible to cancel. If you renew and deselect a service you don't want after your introductory offer, they do not cancel it from being auto-renewed. Instead, it stays active, and they charge you once it is due. They will no issue a refund at all once the charge goes through. On top of this, you can't deselct service to be off auto-renew without speaking with a representative and they disconnect you whenever they can't keep charging you for those services.
Update: 4/8/26 - Thanks for your reply and admitting you provide no refunds for services I didn't intentionally want. Even when you were contacted the day the charges were made. Thanks for supporting my claim. To renew my account, I deselected them as not wanted, which is why I wasn't initially charged for them. If I wanted them, then at renewal, I would not have deselected them at purchase. It's a false practice to charge someone a day after renewal for services deselected during renewal.

I have used bluehost for years for my small business, but never had an issue like this. Recently my site was the victim of a bot attack and it shut the site down. I spent 7-8 hours with various bluehost chat agents and it was like pulling teeth to actually get to level 2 support and get something done. Their chat agents are SLOOOOW to respond. Ultimately I ended up switching to Siteground and they had me up and running with zero issues. Much Much happier now but I wanted to warn people - Bluehost is great if you never have any issues. But if you do, be warned. This happened just after a month after I renewed and Bluehost did NOT want to give me a refund but finally did after I requested they ask a supervisor. that's the only reason for 3 stars instead of 1.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Bluehost’s Pay-Per-Click service and would strongly caution others before signing up.
I paid approximately $1,100 to start a PPC campaign. The campaign did not even launch initially because we agreed to hold off, yet Bluehost still charged me for that inactive month. When the campaign finally launched, there were virtually no results. The only five clicks recorded were from people I personally asked to test the page. No legitimate traffic was generated.
To make matters worse, I later discovered my business was not even properly Google verified at the time. That means the campaign had little to no chance of success from the start. This was never flagged by Bluehost before taking my money. A competent PPC provider should absolutely confirm foundational requirements like verification, reviews, and conversion readiness before launching ads.
After speaking with another PPC professional, I was told it was not the right time for paid ads because my business did not yet have enough reviews, engagement, or authority to convert traffic. Bluehost never mentioned any of this. They simply took the money and proceeded.
The billing situation was even more concerning. My receipt showed $750 allocated to ad spend, but later Bluehost changed that number to around $620 and called it a “mistake.” I was told startup fees were discounted, but the agreed ad spend was reduced without my knowledge or approval. When I questioned it, the response I received was dismissive and condescending, as if I didn’t understand my own receipt.
In the end, only about $25 was actually spent on ads, yet I had to fight just to receive roughly $600 back. That leaves hundreds of dollars unaccounted for with minimal service delivered.
This experience showed:
• Poor campaign preparation
• Failure to verify business readiness
• Minimal actual ad spend
• Inconsistent billing numbers
• Dismissive customer service
• Lack of transparency and accountability
I expected professional guidance and honest strategy. Instead, I received charges for inactive time, almost no campaign performance, and confusing billing adjustments after the fact.
I would not recommend Bluehost’s PPC service to anyone looking for serious marketing support. There are far more transparent and knowledgeable PPC providers out there.
