A challenge to find the boat at the designated pickup spot - no way to connect via phone just emails- absolutely horrible. But after that, all great!

Great Company and Easy Process
We had a great experience overall and everything with Boatsetter went really smoothly. The booking process was easy, communication was good, and the entire experience was seamless from start to finish. Everything worked out perfectly and we were really happy with the company overall.
My only suggestion would be to make the $500 charge more obvious, maybe on a single page or in a clearer spot, because it was easy to miss. We were randomly charged $500 two days before and did not know what it was for, so we had to reach out and ask questions before finding out that it gets returned to your account a few days later. Making that clearer upfront would help avoid confusion and unnecessary stress. Other than that, everything was perfect.

Beware Boatsetter and Captain Jonas! Scam!
Boatsetter and the whole platform needs to get better. We booked a Catamaran out of St. Petersburg, FL for an 8-hr day with good ole' Captain Jonas. Our family of four and another family of 3 flying in from CO for a hoped to be great Spring Break Trip.
We booked early and paid in advance. Was in regular communication. Then received communication roughly three weeks before, he had "scheduling issues" and we needed to select a different day. So we did. Nope couldn't do that one unless we wanted one or more members of our group to stay home because "captain of the day" could only take 6 guests. Obviously, that doesn't work for two families vacationing together. So we pick another day later that week. OK he says we can do that one. Suddenly a few days before we were to get on the plane to head to FL, we just get an automatic notification that Jonas has completely canceled our reservation!
Had to communicate with Boatsetter multiple times to get a refund that, I still have not received. They did reach out and provide some other little boats, that were not even worth the time. Told me no other Catamarans at this point are available. Go figure.
I own an open bow boat 25' surf boat. We didn't want to bounce around in the Ocean on a small boat. The idea was to get an experience on a Catamaran with Room to move around.
Platform is terrible because they don't provide a direct number or e-mail to reach anyone. Everything is through this text and message portal process. I believe they do this on purpose so when you get scammed, you can't speak with the person directly.
Captain Jonas and Boatsetter can have a nice life! What a scam. Buyer Beware!

Ease of the experience
Boatsetter was a great experience. I have used other services around the globe, and while most were very good, I'd say Boatsetter has combined the best qualities of each. The app is easy to use and especially communicating with my "boat renter" was easy. We did go off line to text due to a change in meeting places which was easier. I would suggest that boatsetter provide this option (as a request field from the renter to the owner) for more precise communication. Other than that idea, it was an enjoyable and easy experience.
