It is asinine to make people wait 4 minutes between pages. I reviewed most pages within 60 seconds and had to sit an extra 3 minutes waiting to move on. This program could have been completed in an hour, but instead It took over 4 hours to complete. Absolutely ridiculous.

Unless i missed it there should be more upfront info on length of time it takes.

Overall I thought the class was well designed and very helpful. What I did not like was the timer before you could go on to the next section. While I understand why it is there, there were a few sections that were very brief and then I had to wait almost 3 minutes for the timer to count down to zero before continuing. Also, I wish you could see which questions you got wrong after each section so you could review the material to see where you answered incorrectly.

Test was laid out well. Too many questions with ambiguous answers though. Probably because I was an instructional designer for a living…

Simple testing and cheaper then California gov website.

Great site, made studying very easy. If fact it made it so easy on my very first try I only failed by 1 question and on my second try I passed. I highly recommend

This is the best place to take your test on your time. I learned so much about ocean travel versus lake, it was remarkable and I passed the test the first time. Thanks!

Site was easy to follow but wish you could move through the chapters faster. Disappointing to find out the boaters card wasn't included in the fee.

I understand why you use a timer but when I can read something in 30 seconds it doesn’t make sense to have to wait 3 minutes to go to the next screen.

Good test very helpful

Mostly a positive, efficient and informative process though was bit surprised that when doing tests I was not informed immediately if I had answered a question correctly or not. If I failed the test I would receive that information but only after the fact. A more immediate response would be more beneficial to learning.

My experience with Boattests101 was just OK. My dislikes;
- Each section has an allot time to read the material. In a number of instances it took about a minute to read the material and the countdown timer still had 2+ minutes remaining. You must wait until the timer reaches 0 to move on, resulting in a lot of wasted time.
- The answers to several practice questions that occur at the end of each chapter were incorrect (e.g. errors in units, Feet vs. meters).
- the material presented went well beyond what a typical recreation boater who boats in inland lakes and rivers needs. Several chapters solely dedicated to boating on the oceans.

WILL MAKE RECOMMENDATION TO OTHER NEW BOATER

Kinda of boring, alot of typos (even on the test questions) if you fail the quiz, you should be able to read the section again at your own pace(not timed) i found the timer would shift my attention after i finished the reading and i would grt side tracked…but so long as i get my boater’s card its fine and worth the money

When I went back to answer a question differently, it made me retake the test again. So, for instance, I was on question 35 or so, and wanted to change my answer for question 15, I needed to retake all questions after question 15, most of which were new questions I had not seen on the first pass through. It was a real pain in the ass since the question I wanted to change my answer on was like 2 or 3, and I was like 5 questions from being done. Would be great if I was able to just skip around and not have to retake questions. I was also worried it was going to tally all the questions I had gotten wrong through both runs through the test, and then fail me. Luckily I passed. I dont know how that actually was graded, but it worried me for sure.

Boattest101 helped me get my boater safety card in less than 3 days, after studying constantly, with easy lists, and informative photo. I would give this website 100 stars if I could because they just made my month. Thank you for making my dream come true.
