SOUND BUT TRICKY BUSINESS MODEL
As you can see this is the first REVIEW for this interesting business in HONITON UK High Street. Unusually it does not have a RECEPTION and the only way to set up an appointment is on their website. This is very clear if you try, as I first did, to do a usual 'walk-in'.
This is also the first time that I have followed the Trust Pilot route to try to set up a new business for the benefit of potential customers of that business. What fun! But then again I can cope with, and enjoy, the IT and the challenge of doing a first review for a business.
So with Christmas now on hand yesterday I completed the purchase of a GIFT CARD for my wife to have a manicure early next year, 2026. Whilst I have made many purchases online I have never made one quite like this.
There are three young ladies providing the service here and you can read about what they offer, and the prices on their well-presented website. Laura is the lead and Emma generally does the manicures. I know nothing of the third team member. I already know that the quality of work is high because my wife prefers this business to others in the town.
Although my wife is happily waiting for her appointment, and the 'process' has not yet been completed, I thought this REVIEW would be helpful if I briefly described how the NO RECEPTION process works so here goes with that.
It took me around half an hour to complete the necessary REGISTRATION DETAILS so that I had an ACCOUNT. In went a PASSWORD and my personal contact details, gender and birthday. Eventually I was able to buy my GIFT CARD. Phew! A cup of tea and a chocolate biscuit was my treat!
I can understand that the business model here is 'sound'. The three ladies can work away through a daily list of appointments without having to stop for 'walk-in' queries and bookings. Problem is that although men are welcome for all services I expect that women are more likely to want 'pampering ' than men.
With the greatest respect to the ladies of this town how many of them find the internet a welcoming, helpful environment? I know that many of my immediate neighbours do not. My wife is included there and that is why I have bought her gift.
So pulling all this together at this stage of the process I have to give Body Therapy Honiton this 3* REVIEW, but that is really only because of the booking process. When my wife has had her MANICURE I hope to able to increase the score to a 4*.
