As a retired farmer and always bought quality power tools I considered the Germans the best in that field (Although my mother had been taken and made to work as forced labour and like wise my father captured and forced to work in the mines of Germany during the last war BOTH SURVIVED)
On opening the case I powered up the GSB 19-2RE drill and it had the feel and drive power that I expected. But was I disappointed to see in small print on the drill that it had been made in RUSSIA Being of Ukrainian parents and having seen what my Relatives had suffered /murdered over the years and even to this day in the Ukraine
WHY ARE WE SUPORTING THE RUSSIANS, I THOUGHT THERE WERE SANCTIONS
THE GERMANS SHOULD STOP TRADING WITH THEM EITHER MAKE BOSCH IN GERMANY OR THE UK THEY COST MORE THAN THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES BRANDS
I have just bought a bosh power tool from a local dealer. Exactly 2 days out and the machine dies on me. The local dealer had to send it to the official dealer. After speaking with the rep over the phone this will take at least few days to receive and then write a report...bla bla bla. We were using a Chinese one and it lasted 3 years. Poor service and poor quality! Never again Bosh.
Bought a Bosch 36V cordless hammer drill over a year ago. Drill burnt out already, phoned up for a price for a bare body. Disappointed with Bosch as they couldn't do it. The batteries and charger like brand new, shouldn't have to rebuy all set again.
Will stick to dewalt or makita, as after sales much better. Avoid Bosch.
Partner purchased battery drill for my Xmas. When I opened it there was a leaflet inside to register the product within 4 weeks of purchase for a 3 year warranty. My partner bought the drill in August. I contacted Bosch to explain it was bought as a Xmas present and as it was new and the notice of 3 years warranty was inside the box, could I still register it and take advantage of the 3 year warrant.
No joy, so much for the good will season.
My Husband is a builder and purchased a impact driver set through Mitre 10 it stopped working and has been returned twice ! Not to mention the poor customer service on both behalfs i would not recommend this product to anyone
Good stuffs if you get the Heavy Duty line. The rest is kind of crappy.
Bosch deliberately deceives its buyers!
Unfortunately, I have also invaded the so-called Bosch Profesional series in the construction market.
My drillmakers were broken after half a year, the cut-off grinder after ample a year.
In order not to be held accountable for the poor quality, Bosch has a simple trick.
In the devices are also still inferior coals installed. They last about 1 year with moderate use. Since these are as wear parts, we are not taking the guarantee. Man hat also, I like the warranty not completely lose, only the possibility of the device of Bosch itself to have to leave. This is of course so expensive, which is not worth it.
On my request, I was given the information that the blue devices are identical to the Greens. They just cost more.
I will buy no more devices from Bosch and can advise also only of each, because here in terms of warranty itself "No-Name" are better.
Not great tools nowadays as most of their so called in fact misnamed Professional brand power tools are made in PRC. I have bought several dozen for my profession over the years and nearly all with the exception of the plunge saws and mitre saws are poorly made with cheap and badly machined components, and yet they still cost more. We pay more for QUALITY.
I have to also mention that the cost of replacement parts on failed tools is also excessive.
The GTS10J table saw for the money is atrocious. We use three. Great design but extremely badly made with misleading specs (not all steel bases. Cast alloy of some kind) just for the record.
Now its see how much cheaper we can make them for higher profit margins like most of the competition. Bosch no different to all the other leading brands. Market forces I suppose. Shame.
My experience of UK Bosch power tools after sales service is very poor. I returned a cordless 10.8v professional (blue) screwdriver to their service centre for repair under the guarantee as the unit stopped working within the 12 months period. I sent a copy of my purchase receipt along with an explanation of the fault. I was then sent an invoice for the repair which totalled more than the actual cost of the tool new. When I quizzed this charge I was told that the screwdriver had broke through wear and tear and this was not covered. So what is wear and tear? Well it's using the item so how do you define what is a wear an tear part on a professional tool? Well mine was the brushes worn out, yes on a professional version cordless power tool within 12 months and they are not even replaceable as its a new complete motor. They point blank refused to repair it free of charge even though I had only used it as a normal cordless tool in the trade they sell it to, so beware buying Bosch, their tools run well until they break but the guarantee is useless if its an expensive part that breaks then it will most probably be a wear and tear part and their customer service is so poor. As for the extended warranty for 3 years, well come on, if they won't change parts within 12 months I don't think you stand a chance in the extra years.
Just as another note, I own a dewalt (yellow)cordless drill which has been used heavily throughout the years and although its very rugged it has failed a few times but whenever it was returned it was repaired hassle free and even guaranteed any parts fitted further under warranty, there is no comparison to quality and after sales service.
Bosch "blue" power tools are for the trade. Similar in design to some of the green DIY tools, but inside are better components for daily use rather than occasional. Hard wearing. Its good gear right enough, but when things do break down they really excel. The blue stuff has a year guarantee that if you register your product within 4 weeks of purchase, they upgrade free to 3 years. If anything fails, they send a courier out to wherever you're working, collect the faulty item and repair/replace and return it to you within a few days. All under warranty. Now that is service!
