Avoid Bosch using cheap parts

Avoid Bosch Garden Products at all costs.
I’ve just had to wait 2 weeks to get a New lawnmower fixed as it had a faulty switch. Now the Lawnmower has gone dead. When I spoke to Bosch I said this is unacceptable and they should just replace it with another one, as I did not want to be without it for another 2 weeks . It’s a shame as I’ve always had Bosch lawn mowers that were reliable. Unfortunately they are obviously using cheap parts for profit now. Therefore I will avoid buying anything Bosch from now on.

I will never by a Bosch tool of any…

I will never buy a Bosch tool of any kind again I bought an 18v drill for my husband last Christmas. The motor is now toast and the battery wouldn't charge. Dewalt makes much better tools which we replaced the Bosch Drill with

Confusing warranty rules, terrible service.

Possibly the worst customer service I have experienced from any organisation. 18v battery failed to charge 2 months after purchase. The first issue concerns the inability to register batteries on Bosch’s warranty website because they are not classed as tools (even though some batteries are more expensive than tools), so this results in telephone calls and collection arrangements having to be made through their service centre rather than online. These calls started on 24/11/2025 but resulted a very slow response, necessitating 14 follow-up emails from different departments (Bosch Service Centre, Bosch Power Tools, etc) and I finally received a replacement battery yesterday 14/01/2026. It should not take weeks of frustrating chase-ups to obtain a replacement for a faulty battery. I will think seriously before purchasing Bosch products in the future.

Customer service is a joke.

Customer service is a joke.
Clearly explained what the issue was, was told I needed to go to website to get part. She gave me a part number but when I got it, it was only half of what I needed. Complained and was told just got order the other part. By the end , 2 parts, 2 lots of postage, could have almost bought a new sander. Complained again and getting no reply now.

Shockingly poor customer service

Shockingly poor customer service. I need a washer - the one that secures the blade on my table saw so I wrote to Bosch explaining that on the exploded view of the saw, the part number was shown as "out of stock". I was invited to complete the email address so that I would be notified when it was back in stock. Nothing for a month so I wrote to Bosch who told me it was not a stock item, I had to contact Miles Tools who would make the part in 6-8 weeks!! I reiterate here that we are talking about a washer (price indicated was £3.90 or so) that secures the blade so my safety immediately springs to mind! Miles wrote back saying they would have to order it from Bosch (not sure why they didn't) so I went back to Bosch and got no reply. So I wrote to Steffen Hoffmann, the CEO/MD and to my absolute disappointment, got no reply from him either. I am still waiting for Bosch to tell me how to go about getting the part that I first enquired about in January!! I don't understand why Bosch are being so unhelpful. I have been polite but firm and to use my saw with this defective part could result in serious injury but that doesn't seem to cause any concern in Bosch. In the light of my experience with them, I could not recommend buying their products. Customer service is paramount nowadays - and even more so in the current economic climate - so where I feel I will not be treated with respect if I have an issue with a product, then I won't buy from them - simple. That, sadly, is where I go from here - but still not able to use my saw.

Aviod anything made by Bosch!!

I was expecting more from a company like Bosch but I guess I was wrong, I purchased £300 worth of portable jet washer in July 2024 come February 2025 the battery is dead will not charge.

So I called the power tools customer service number was told a pick up would take place in 48hrs, all I had to do was box up the battery & charger pop in proof of purchase then it would be picked up, nice & easy you might think...

Except no one picked the item up it's still sitting here, just got an email from the courier saying they would pick up in the next two days, unfortunately no one has been to collect the item.

So I called Bosch at 1600 today I was told pick up could still take place till 1700 today, so I asked what time customer service closes today guess what 1700, so after no one arrived today after having to take two days annual leave as I live alone, I emailed the service department to make a complaint.

I would not recommend anyone buy anything made by Bosch it will certainly be my last purchase of anything they make, now I have used two days leave for nothing.

Come tomorrow morning I will be straight on the phone calling them, as if they care anyway Bosch have shown little interest in fixing my problem, I am very disappointed with this company I expected so much better than this for service.

Bosch expert multi material holesaw

Just started a contract that require core cutting and been using the bosch expert multi material holesaw and I must say what a brilliant bit of kit
But the reason I'm writing this review is to reach out to the designer or developer of this bit of kit to let them no that as an electrician I have to core out extractor fan duct holes however as the holesaws
are not quite deep enough it doesn't
allow to be cut all the way through
If these where redesign to maybe be 111mm deep rather than 60mm it would my cost a bit more to purchase but I would pay it as it would save the cost of buying a diamond core piece and having to carry so many tools with me just for 1 job

I have now returned 3 (three) PBS75a…

I have now returned 3 (three) PBS75a belt sanders - ALL with the same fault (baseplate becomes dislodged) making it unsafe to use. The latest return (Repair reference 2410304004) they have asked £62.70 to repair. A previous return asked the same amount but promised a 30% discount voucher that could NOT be used against a new sander. I spoke to a German speaking agent who assured me that I was the ONLY person to point out this fault which defies belief.

Bosch not fit for purpose

I purchased a Bosch Jigsaw GST-160 during the pandemic, and over the next few years I used it a handful of times, extremely light work. To this day, it still looks like new. My warranty expired, and of course that’s when the jigsaw packed up. After some research, it seemed quite a few people had experienced the same problem with this jigsaw. I spoke to Bosch, who were not interested that it’s becoming a common fault, and charged me £94 to fix it. Since then I used it once, no problems, a year later on my 2nd use, again it has packed up. Explained this to Bosch, and now they want to charge me £108 to fix it. This is a professional tool, that is not worth the money. Bosch Customer Service……there isn’t any. They are not interested in any communication, other than you paying for the fault, which seems to be that the jigsaw is not fit for purpose. I also own Dewalt and Makita tools, which have been used every day for over 5 years, and I’ve not had one issue. Do yourself and your wallet a favour, and avoid Bosch, there are better and more reliable manufacturers available, with great customer service.

I was lured into buying a product of…

I was lured into buying a product of theirs because of a cashback action of 20 euros (on a 135-euro product). Sounds good, but the website to enter the product for cashback is completely dysfunctional and customer service is horrible, so I wasted a lot of time trying to get the cashback, without result.
Never fall for this scam.

Poor Warranty & Very Dismissed Customer Service!

It seems that they have no such thing – warranty! Purchased a Bosch Sander which came with 3 years guarantee. It has never worked properly due to the default disk causing uneven sanding.

However, my request to claim warranty was dismissed as I was told that the sander needs to be registered right away after the purchase, before it will be repaired under warranty. Legally speaking, you DO NOT if you can prove it is a genuinely branded product which is easy to establish!

How tricky it is!

Poor quality tools and warranty

Poor quality tools and a purposely restrictive warranty policy.
In the last 12 months ive have 2 Bosch impact drive failures and now a lawnmower.
All are essentially drive system failures, the motors still run the but bit or blade is not turning.
Though they offer a repair or replace warranty, it is intentional designed not to be used.
For the lawn mower, i need to find a box, then take a day off work to be collected, which could be anytime from 8am until 6pm. This is 2024, people work, how can people just take a day off?
"we can collect from anywhere" was the answer, yeah, cause i can just car a 1700W lawnmower around with me......Last Bosch Purchase i ever make.

Terrible Customer service

Bosch Power Tools delivered an empty box which should have contained a drill bit. The packaging inside the box clearly revealed the inadequate packaging used for a drill bit. Upon seeking a refund, they requested full evidence & photographs of the packaging, which were provided. They then delayed resolution by requesting the empty box be returned first, which occurred. They are now using further delaying tactics and not responding to communication, despite my request to raise a complaint. Shocking customer service, deceitful treatment of customers and no willingness to resolve an issue caused by their failures. One star is too much. Buy your equipment elsewhere, not from Bosch Power Tools.

First class response

First class response. A battery failed within warranty. I used the on-line reporting system on Monday afternoon 29 Jan. Battery was collected Tuesday and emails were exchanged. New battery was delivered on Friday 2nd Feb at no cost to me and little hssle. Perfect.

This company is pathetic

This company is pathetic. They have no such thing is warranty. I bought mine hand tools set within a year battery could not be charged. I contacted them for replacement of battery they keep using excuses after excuses. Everytime I called I keep getting different excuses. Not to mention they always hang up your phone everytime you call. I have been fighting for over 2 months for battery replacement still fighting. Never ever buy another Bosch tools

Bought a drill in July broke with 3 months, Bosch have had it well over a month and say waiting for part, and now not going to do anything until new year! Asked by email how I log complaint and was told by email no email address for complaints team, how unhelpful and will not buy from them again!!

Purchased a Bosch Demo Hammer. Has never worked properly, repaired under warranty. Still not working, apparently, I have buyers remorse! All I want is a working hammer for my $1500. I'll never buy another Bosch item.

Bosch Power Tools UK free battery promotion

Spent just on £300.00 on a Bosch cordless vacuum cleaner as there was a promotional offer for a free battery. Unfortunately it took 7 days to try and claim this and too say the process was difficult is an understatement. Despite over 10 tries on their website the claim could not proceed and numerous E-Mails to them failed to resolve the issue. So I telephone, as advised by Bosch to telephone 0344 7360109 and ask for customer services. However, when a spoke to someone I was blindsided and told that I had to E-Mail them as they do not have a customer services department. I then telephoned Bosch and explained that Bosch Power Tools UK do not have a customer service department and I was told that they could not help and I should E-Mail them again to try and resolve the problem
I have always bought Bosch products in the past but they have now lost my custom for good. One star was given because you had to give some rating otherwise it would have been a zero or minus if one was available.

Strimmer broke (within warranty)

Strimmer broke (within warranty). You have to send the item to Bosch as they have "the chance to repair". Easy peasy – if you have a box big enough to put a strimmer in it (doesn't everyone?!). I didn't, so I had to cadge a box to join onto another box to fit the strimmer in (after giving the strimmer a good clean which took ages). What a waste of my time (when it broke the strimmer had smoke coming out of it and a stong burning smell; no way is it repairable), but having spoken to Bosch customer service (not very impressive) I was told this is what I have to do. Who knows what will happen next.....my previous strimmer (different make) broke within warranty and was replaced straight away without the extreme hassle of me having to clean/package/despatch the broken one.
