Boulton & Griffiths
Boulton & Griffiths: Great at taking your money. Not so great at everything else.
When we signed the contract and handed over our cash, Boulton & Griffiths rolled out the red carpet. Sadly, that carpet was quickly pulled out from under us once we moved in.
Cue the vanishing act: emails ignored, phone calls ghosted, updates lacking on reported issues with the property, and repairs delayed like they were waiting for a blue moon.
Leaks, rusted appliances, a temperamental washing machine, lack of hot water on far too many occasions… it was like living in a DIY challenge show we never signed up for. We tried to be decent tenants and keep the place in good nick, but the favour was definitely not returned.
While we fully understand that properties can have issues from time to time, it was the disdain and sheer incompetence from Boulton & Griffiths that was truly hard to swallow.
We weren’t expecting miracles — no one’s asking for repairs to be done overnight — but we also weren’t expecting to wait until the 12th of never. Weeks (and in one case, ten months) went by with little to no progress.
Even a simple update now and then would’ve gone a long way. Just something to show they were “on it.” But apparently, sending a basic email or making a call was asking far too much.
The lack of urgency, communication, and basic professionalism left us feeling ignored and completely unsupported as tenants. We dreaded anytime we had to report a fault or maintenance issue, knowing what we’d be met with.
James gets a special mention for his condescending charm, while Kirsty at least managed to be polite — though still not much quicker to act.
We weren’t shocked that getting our deposit back took forever either when we moved out. At this point, delayed responses felt like part of the brand.
Having since read other reviews, it’s clear we’re not the only ones who’ve been on the B&G rollercoaster. Sadly, it seems they’re not too keen on taking feedback or improving the ride.
In short? If you enjoy sending follow-up emails about your follow-up emails… and making chasing these guys up a full-time job… this might be the agency for you. Otherwise, we’d say: scroll past and save yourself the hassle.
Boulton, I urge you to do better. But you probably won’t. Thankfully how you conduct your business is no longer our concern! Adios!
Kind regards,
Signed a relieved former tenant
