The worst after sales experience of my human existence
I have been waiting 3 months for a faulty DB3D sub to be collected and repaired/replaced. I will not EVER buy from this company again. B&W say they need the retailer to issue a collection request the retailer says B&W won't give let them issue the request. Utter garbage. Avoid Avoid Avoid
Will never buy again
Will never buy again. Have had nothing but connection issues with my wedge. Sick and tired of constantly losing connection. Today I removed the speaker and am not able to reconnect. Lasted 3 years. Way too expensive for such crappy quality.
Don't buy anything from Bowers and…
Don't buy anything from Bowers and Wilkins. I first bought the B&W P5 wired headphones they were great, I eventually gave them to a friend in mint condition. That was only because I'd bought a pair of P5 wireless headphones, they're currently still in perfect condition. I then bought the P7 wireless headphones, they lasted 5 years before breaking at the metal connections. Finally I bought the PX7 wireless headphones, within 4 months the earpads had disintegrated (causing an ear infection destroying my right earbud). The ear pads are not leather as they used to be hence their quick disintegration, they are (supposedly) available to replace for £30 if you can find them anywhere. Do NOT buy these products now as they are low quality but high price for the 'consumable' ear pads. My next headphones will be BOSE or SONY. I will never buy B&W again and I advise you not to consider them. Take from this review what you will. I previously bought P5 wired, P5 wireless, P7 wireless and finally the PX7 and these are the last. AVOID this company. Cheap mass produced trash with disintegrating parts. I've now started using them with the earpads removed. Ironically this makes them more comfortable.
I purchased a pair of PX7 S2 in…
I purchased a pair of PX7 S2 in Oct.2022 had them replaced 4 months later for a ripped ear pad. 2 months later the new pair had the same issue. got a support letter stating that is normal wear and tear and not covered under 2 yr warranty. I will have to pay for any help, even though I am still under warranty.... if this is the case, I will post a picture online to warn others about this horrible product support
My p7 wireless headphones stopped…
My p7 wireless headphones stopped working on the right side contacted customer support to be told we can't fix them so here's 25% of as an act of goodwill to buy another set! ....don't think so now a happy B & O user absolutely rubbish support avoid this company and their shoddy products.
customer support is horrible will not…
customer support is horrible will not purchase another product from them because of that.
I am a very loyal B&W headphone fanatic…
I am a very loyal B&W headphone fanatic but feel i have to write a negative review in the hope that B&W listen and improve. I have, over the last 5+ years had the PX5, the PX7 and now have ordered the PX8 McClaren.
The PX5 were gorgeous however after a few years the metal snapped so became unusable - the PX7 looked more robust but the ANC decided to play up after a few years and the arm started to wear. I typically use them for a year mildly, then give them to my autistic son who uses them literally all day long and every day. I am now of the opinion that they are not for daily use. I was offered 25% off a new set of Px7 S2 which i didnt take up as i wanted the PX 8's - perhaps i will ask for a retro discount but doubt i will get it despite the loyalty. My son has actually opted of the sony's now, apparently pretty close and a lot cheaper - in fact the ANC is actually better in his opinion. Thats the product gripe - the customer service and ordering process is another thing. If you order direct you dont even get a confirmation email. I ordered Saturday and its now 3pm Monday with an expected delivery date of tomorrow (Tuesday - I need them for a trip) and still no email. Nothing. No idea if i should plan to be here tomorrow! Support tend to answer very basically and without commital. Lets hope the P8's last better than their forebears.
Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin
Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin, best looking network speaker but worst working. Software and Alexia doesn’t work at all. The App has to rescan for devices every time I use it, and I have to touch it every time. It can be used as a very expensive Bluetooth speaker nothing else. The software is 100 % defect. As of latest update march 2023 – buy something else
Extraordinary bad support
Extraordinary bad support.
I Bought the newest € 700 headphones (PX8) from Bowers. They were faulty out of the box. Not charging, shutting down constantly while charged, bluetooth jingle doesn't stop playing )
After e-mails with Bowers support I was allowed to come bring them in to a shop 2hrs driving from my house. After not hearing anything after a month I called and they were so kind to let me know that there was a package for me, 2hrs away.
It was the same pair, no fault found. You can imagine how I felt to hear that after a month...
Now Bowers will not respond to my messages, I called Bowers support in several countries. My retailer only offers to send it back to Bowers again. No thank you. Now I'm stuck with an expensive pair of faulty headphones.
It's my 4th Bowers product, stay away folks. The only thing premium about it is the price.
Think carefully before buying poor quality products backed by an irresponsible repair policy
Absolutely shocking experience with B&W. Having saved for many months to purchase a pair of the company's PX5 wireless headphones (approx. £280) I was extremely disappointed when one of the earphones stopped working after approx. 3 and a half years. Understanding that my product was out of manufacturers warranty, I contacted their support desk to ask how I could go about returning the product for a repair, which I was happy to pay for.
Imagine my amazement when the response that came back from B&W was that the product "could not be repaired" but that if I was to pay them £285 MORE I could "upgrade" to another model. Absolutely shocking.
When I spend almost £300 on a pair of headphones branded and marketed as "premium" not only do I expect them to last 10-20 years, if they do fail I expect them to be repairable. Bowers and Wilkins must appreciate that they only exist because of the resources they use to make their products - I find a business in 2023 that treats products that retail for £300 as disposable, throw-away items deeply shocking and hugely irresponsible.
Shame on you, B&W.
And to then ask a loyal customer to double their investment in order to get a working product (which let's face it, is likely to last 5 years tops) is really showing a lack of respect for those who work hard to buy their products.
So - if you're thinking of purchasing some of their products I would think VERY carefully and consider other brands that are of higher quality and offer a reasonable and responsible return-and-repair service.
!!!Don't buy Bowers and Wilkins!!!
!!!Don't buy Bowers and Wilkins!!!! I have 3 pairs and only one works. One will not hold a charge. The other pair one earbud shorted out and muffled sound. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS WORST IVE EVER EXPERIENCED. Very difficult to deal with back and forth emails intentionally to discourage any return or repair. Impossible to deal with. Furthermore not enough control on devices and they will stop functioning and company will leave you out in the cold for repair or replacement.
New Pi7 ear buds
New Pi7 ear buds - they lack A LOT of touch controls that basically every other wireless bud has even ones at 1/3 price - they dont even have volume control which is nuts. sound is decent but the need resetting all the time as touch controls stop working altogether so you cant start / stop, skip to next track - anything.
Customer support couldnt give less of a care. It seems that complete lack of care re their customers is a B&W trademark from what ive seen on internet. They must have the mentality that they are premium and we should feel honoured they sold us something.
well, hopefully that will only work for so much longer - they are living on brand name alone - and the fact is other brands out there provide better quality products with better functionality and dont look at their customers like something stuck on the bottom of their shoe.
B&W will have a rough landing one day, and come up with every excuse under the sun re spiral of death - but fact is they just have entrenched culture of being lazy on product quality and features and couldn't care less about unhappy customer experiences. The world needs less companies with that culture / leadership and more companies that do care rewarded with peoples hard earned spend instead.
PX5 Headphones - Very Poor After-sales Service and QC
Very Poor After-sales Service and QC
After 2.5 years of light use, the right-hand side of my PX5 headphones just stopped working. I contacted B&W support with the hope of either a warranty or paid repair but they did not want to know. They said PX5s are now obsolete and for an upgrade cost of £210 they would send me PX7 as a replacement! They would not offer a repair. I consider this very poor service and incredibly short product life on what is supposedly a premium product from a reputable supplier. My advice is buy elsewhere!
Great overall experience
Great experience. I own PX, Pi7, home theatre with VM1 and AS1 and main main room with CM8, CM1, CM Centre + ASW610XP and I do love them all. Very sturdy construction and superb sound as expected for a price.
B&W UK - poorly made headphones
I have owned three different types of B&W headphones, along with some hi-fi speakers (606 Anniversary edition), so am well acquainted with the brand. The sound quality is, in my opinion, second to none for the price.
My P5 headphones are fortunately still going strong, but I can no longer use them with my phone thanks to my phone lacking a 3.5mm jack socket.
I bought a pair of PX5s in 2021 from a third party retailer at a good discount on the RRP. These headphones were without a doubt my favourite of all the headphones that I've owned. Unfortunately, the sound on the right can became intermittent. I sent them back to the retailer who replaced them 'no questions asked'. Then the exact same fault happened again with the new pair, and the retailer advised me that as they were no longer being made I should send them back and would be given a full refund, which I did and I was. Top marks for warranty but bottom marks for the same failure happening twice in the first year.
I then decided to splurge and buy the PX7s in September 2022, reasoning that as the flagship headphone they would be even better than the PX5s. Again, there was a good discount as there was a new range of headphones that had just been launched. This time I bought direct from the B&W website. Honestly, I liked them slightly less than the PX5s but was still happy with them. Happy that is, until a similar fault - this time in the left can - occurred within the first month of ownership. I hadn't even used them enough to have to charge the battery beyond the initial charge before use.
How can this reputable company make such poorly designed/manufactured headphones? They aren't exactly cheap, but it's just shockingly bad to see them all fail in the same way. I won't buy B&W headphones again.
To be fair, the customer service to return the item and get the refund in the first 30 days "trial period" was fine. They sent me a UPS label so I could return them, and processed the refund promptly. The whole returns process took 12 days (including me waiting a couple of days to get round to posting the headphones back).
I can't overstate how shockingly bad it is to get these kinds of faults on their headphone products. I now wish I'd bought an extended warranty for the speakers too. I've since bought a different brand of headphone.
5 stars for the headphones' sound, 1 star for the headphones' build/design quality, 5 stars for the warranty, 4 stars for the customer service, 5 stars for the speakers = 3 stars overall.
Highly Disappointed with Bowers & Wilkins
Not really happy with the Bowers & Wilkins brand of headphones. A few days ago I purchased a pair of Bowers & Wilkins PX7 Carbon Edition. Shortly after purchasing them, I had a change of mind about the PX7, and wanted to return them for the PI7 headphones (in-ear), but unfortunately I had already opened the packaging. The retailer in NZ where I purchased the PX7, refuses to take them back in exchange for the PI7 in-ear headphones. I have not used the PX7. Is this the kind of service that Bowers & Wilkins gives its customers. If this is how Bowers & Wilkins treats its customers with absolutely no change of mind warranty, then I’ll rather support another brand of headphones like Bang & Olufsen. This is absolutely ridiculous & I’m highly disappointed. Even though I purchased my B&W headphones in NZ, the retailer is still an authorized B&W retailer and represents B&W.
I would really like the management of B&W to comment here, and not the store where I purchased the PX7, ‘cos the store doesn’t help at all, and is a total waste of time.
Terrible build quality
I have bought three pairs of B&W headphones in the past 5 years. This is because the build quality is absolutely atrocious. The only thing worse is their customer care.
It’s true the sound quality is incredible (which is why I kept coming back); but no more. The most recent (PX7) didn’t last six full months.
This time the faux leather covering of the right earpad split. The retailer said these are replaceable and so they count as consumable, and not covered by the warranty. The retailer doesn’t sell the earpads, however, so they’re not particularly consumable.
The B&W website also claims that the earpads are of the same quality as every other part of their product.
The Australian distributor wants to charge $70 for a replacement. When I spend $600 on premium headphones I don’t expect ANY part of it to fail in less than six months; and I certainly won’t pay for a replacement when it does.
Great quality and overall great…
Great quality and overall great experience with my last 2 purchases from this company.
P9 supposedly their iconic piece
Bought these and love the sound and look although they are minus a lot of tech but then again that’s their thing . What’s not acceptable is when you get a crack on the glass sides and they don’t replace that piece (when it is do able) basically got you will need to buy a new set (£700) at half price. Just a complete no can do atitude so I have adopted the same atitude. I will never buy anything from bowers and Wilkins again. A company living off self publicity so let’s so how far that goes when you have no more customers left
Don't buy PX7 - Common fault -
Couldn't give zero rating.
My PX7 has a problem with the left headphone. It looses sound in the left and if you tap lightly the sound comes back on. This is a common fault it would appear. Have a look on the internet and you will find lots of similar complaints. B&W know this but it appears to me that they have not resolved this fault. Great headphones when they work. My headphones are only 3 months out of warranty and they want nearly £160 to repair a well known fault. Beggars belief.
