Awaiting a response from Bradstone

I have contacted Bradstone, provided the information they require and await a response. They have a problem with their old town eco paying ! Big time !
I have had old town previously and it was a good product. A 30 sqMtr patios was still looking good 15 years on. We moved so and I needed a patio. The old town moulds and look are great. A realistic and aesthetic appeal close to old York stone BUT .. this eco range is appalling. Mottled substrate visible through the top dressing. Then after just one modest jet wash the “old” is vanishing ..the top layer is microns thick. I am furious. This is not a cheap product but the new iteration is substandard pure and simple. Not fit for purpose, does not do what it says on the tin. I now have 30/45 sq metres of patio. That inside 2 years will look nothing like the advertised product. I wonder what Bradstone’s response will be ? So far it’s to request “precise dates of laying, numbers or slabs, who supplied it, where are the receipts” All smoke and mirrors. My best guess is they know full well the failings but would face a small fortune trying to put it right so will duck and dive until I go away.

Section 75

Bradstone blamed me for their faulty slabs which faded and discoloured after 1 week of being laid,I contacted my bank and requested a section 75 which allows me to claim back the money I'm due for the faulty slabs,my bank said either Bradstone will pay me or the bank will pay me and claim it back from Bradstone,I'm £1000 out of pocket for the slabs, sand, cement and the builders time but I'll only get the money back for the slabs because they are faulty items not the sand, cement and the builders time.

terrible

We had our patio and path done in bradstone old town and it looked nice for a month or so. We then noticed that the surface colour was washing off in the rain leaving the shiny stone aggregate showing through. Some months on and this is becoming worse by the day. If we had wanted a cheap concrete slab we could have bought them alot cheaper. Bradstone have been contacted and a picture sent but as expected they have given us a number of hoops to jump through before they will take us seriously. The job was carried out by a landscaper who also bought the paving and hopefully he will contact bradstone. Just what a busy self emplyed builder wants to do! Meanwhile we are left with an expensive concrete slab patio not at all resembling the grey green of the brochure. I can only recomend that you do not buy this product as it is not what it says it is at all.

I had my garden path and patio fitted…

I had my garden path and patio fitted with the Bradstone Aspero Graphite slabs to the cost of over £3000.
We have had a few of them damaged and I contacted quite a few of the suppliers, who said they could only sell in packs. All I wanted was about 5 , so I contacted Bradstone . They said that they do not sell anything else but packs. If I had known that they never carried spares I would not have bought them.Beware of buying from them - the cheapest pack I could find was around £900 !!!. Dreadful after sales - they should make this clear on the site. I cannot believe I am the only one looking for spares.

Make sure you know Bradstone are changing their products

I was revamping my garden with Bradstone Old Town weathered limestone, I ordered my patio packs from a local merchant, but they could not supply a small circle and squaring off kit. I ordered the small circle and SOK from Simply Paving Bradstones on line sales. They phone to say the circle was out of stock and they were waiting for more but it would be about 4-6 weeks, I was prepared to wait. When it arrived the SOK matched the patio it was next to, but the circle was not creams and browns but more green and grey, I complained and Bradstone agreed to send another circle and SOK from the next batch they made. This arrived 2-4 weeks later marked weathered limestone ECO. I had seen an advertisement on Facebook for a new product Old Town Weathered limestone ECO, are more environmentally friendly product. At no time was my order marked as this or was I told the product was being changed.
I now have a mixture of old and new paving ruining my garden design, increased builders bill due to all the waiting, I spent over £4,000 on Bradstone and it’s not what I expected due to the colour change of the circle and SOK. Very unhappy I have wasted my money.
The local suppliers like me did not know about the ECO changed.
No compensation offered by Bradstone only that I should have bought it all from them then it would have matched, I doubt that as the first circle and SOK didn’t.

Bradstone Pauta Mid Grey porcelain…

Bradstone Pauta Mid Grey porcelain paving
I had my rear garden landscaped with Bradstone Pauta Mid Grey porcelain paving, these slabs are supposed to have a speckled effect to mimic natural granite and because they are made from porcelain they are non porous so much easier to keep clean.

However, after the landscaper had finished the job I noticed that some of the paving slabs had dark grey blemishes (the size of a thumb print) in exactly the same place on several slabs and upon inspection, this defect or similar is apparent on approximately 50% of slabs. Bradstone were contacted, who have stated that this is blemish/fault is intentional.
From my point of view, these blemishes/manufacturing faults look like stains hence my patio looks dirty all the time, which defeats the object of choosing porcelain paving.

Until Bradstone rectify the issue with their moulds I would not recommend that anyone buy Bradstone Pauta Mid Grey Porcelain paving, but this is just the opinion of a very unhappy customer who has just wasted 8.5k.
