Bransons Customer service ????
So I brought a secondhand motorcycle from them, having initially purchased via an on line/ telephone conversation everything seemed to be fine. I then drove the 128 miles to see the bike to make sure it was as described. It looked clean and tidy in the showroom although it was a little dark in the back section.
I paid the deposit over the phone and asked for a delivery date , I wanted the bike to be MOTd and serviced. They said it didn’t need a service but they MOTd it . I chased for delivery date and all I kept getting was ‘ we so busy in the workshop etc etc’ well as a new customer that was the first of a few issues where customer service went south. Anyway they finally agreed a delivery date and they said they would call to advise a ETA, that didn’t happen, but when they turned up I just happened to be outside.
On inspection the bike was covered on mud and grit on the mudguard, the down pipes and the hugger. Not impressed but the workshop was busy with other customers to worry about that.
I the took it to a proper work shop and lo and behold the oil filter was loose, finger tight, the throttle didn’t return to the proper stop and tyre pressures were below the normal pressures. At a cost of £180 I now have a bike that is as it should have been when it was delivered. Luckily the filter had been picked up otherwise it could have been a disaster, same for the throttle. When a so called motorcycle dealer keeps coming up with excuses for why they didn’t call back or didn’t service the bike or carry out a safety check then be concerned. £7400 doesn’t buy you professional services it seems.
Another observation, a young lad picking up a cb125 asked about L plates and was greeted with do you have a drill ? You can put the solid plate on the back and wrap the adhesive plate on the bikini fairing, he was planing to ride home, why couldn’t that have done that for the lad?
We were in the market for a Honda, but this service and negative customer attitude sent us elsewhere, where ordered the Honda and was delivered with a full tank and ready to go within a week. you pay your money for service and support not excuses and poor customer service. Your Money Your Choice just be aware of what you might be letting yourself in for.
