KS72 RCO -MISREPRESENTED VEHICLE - I would not recommend this dealer under…

I would not recommend this dealer under any circumstances. They knowingly misrepresented a vehicle to me at the point of sale

During the purchase of the vehicle, I should have seen the warning signs, they deflected me to arrange my own finance despite being FCA regulated and offer finance as per their website, they tried reducing the part exchange price for my car several times, pushed and pressured for the £500 nonrefundable deposit to be paid and were keen for me to collect the car straight away.

When purchasing this vehicle, I now know, I traded in a far superior vehicle both in condition, history and class to the vehicle Bravo Motor Cars Ltd had sold me.

Bravo Motor Cars Ltd knowingly withheld vital information they had been informed of by the previous owners 2 weeks prior to my enquiry and purchase of the car.The two previous owners provided a detailed list of the defects along with several images and videos, showing the non-commercially acceptable repairs hiding behind the interior trim and roof lining.

At the point of purchase Bravo only declared one defect - which was a language issue where the car would default to French and that the vehicle had been repaired on the roof. They advised a software update would fix this. When looking at the vehicle as a consumer, you could not see any paint mismatch, poor paint workmanship and the boot and sunroof operated as it should.

On this basis I accepted to purchase the vehicle and booked it into the main dealer for the following Friday to have the appropriate software update. Unfortunately, two days into ownership, the sunroof started leaking causing water to enter the vehicle through the sensor housing on the windscreen. Initially, they wanted me to take the vehicle back to them, which was over a three-hour drive away but then they offered to come and collect the vehicle and provide me with a courtesy car which I agreed to, but then went quiet.

I had the vehicle booked in with my local main dealer to fix the one and only defect they advised me of at the point of sale. As I had not heard from them, I contacted them to confirm if they were happy for the main dealer to inspect the leak. They were.

When the vehicle went into the main dealer to implement the software update—which Bravo Motor Cars said would fix the issue—it didn't. The main dealer also wasn't able to inspect the water leak as it would need to be in for a couple of days to be stripped down and inspected.

When driving home from the main dealer, I discovered several other defects with the vehicle—all electrical—which had not been declared by Bravo to me at the point of sale, but which they were aware of prior to me purchasing.

Due to the further defects and issues, I chose to reject the vehicle the following morning under the Consumer Rights Act, as the car was not as described or fit for purpose. After several days of back and forth, they agreed "as a gesture of goodwill" to let me reject the vehicle but expected me to take the vehicle back to them. It is worth noting that accepting a rejected vehicle back when it was misrepresented at point of sale, is not a gesture of goodwill.

The vehicle has been returned - at my cost, the finance unwound but the whole experience with Bravo has been beyond poor! It’s now four months down the line, they have withheld part of my deposit claiming it has been withheld by the finance broker. When in fact this is their fee as part of their agreement with the broker and should not be passed onto the customer.

The communication has been and is non-existent, and I am having to take them to small claims court to recover my out-of-pocket expenses through their deceitful actions. They have recently put the same car back up for sale, again not declaring any of the defects and leaving the advert ambiguous, putting the responsibility on the customer to inspect something which would never be inspected when buying a car.

Avoid this garage at all costs. They have and will willingly sell you a vehicle and withhold important facts and information. If you are reading this and the vehicle is still for sale—DS7 Crossback Opera, registration KS72 RCO—avoid it at all costs.

Part 3 - Car is a write off

Part 3

So in addition to my previous posts on this dealer, I’ve now had my car that I bought from bravo motorcars assessed by 3 seperate mechanics and the RAC who had to attend at the roadside, and every single one of them has said the same that the car is not fit for purpose, and if I keep paying to have it fixed it’s very likely in a short time period afterwards I will need further work done to it, so I’ve CV been advised to reject the car and terminate my finance agreement.
Bravo motorcars are still unwilling to offer me any support with the vehicle that I got from them less than 3 months ago and I’ve already had to spend over a £1000 on and likely more this week once it goes in garage, please please if it’s the last thing you do NEVER EVER BUY A CAR FROM THIS GARAGE EVER!!!!!

I have requested my finance agreement be terminated and the car to be returned and refunded but as with everything there is procedures and processes I have to go through.

AVOID BUYING FROM HERE!!!

ABSOLUTE COWBOYS AVOID AT ALL COSTS. YOU WOULD THINK THESE ARE NICE CARS BUT WHAT A SHAME. IM SUPRISED NO ONE HAS SHUT THIS COMPANY DOWN YET. THE AMOUNT OF REVIEWS OF PEOPLE SOLD FAULTY CARS SAYS ALL. AFTER SALES THEY DO EVERYTHING TO RUN AWAY FROM ANY PHONECALLS OR ISSUES RAISED. WHAT A BUNCH OF THIEVES. HAD TO SPEND 2K RECTIFYING ISSUES ON A CAR AFTER THEY HAD REMAPPED THE CAR TO DELETE ALL FAULTS. EVERYONE WHO ANSWERS PHONE CLAIMS TO BE THE MANAGER, ABSOLUTELY RUDE.

Would only buy from Main dealers now!

Rated 1 star as 0 isn’t an option.
Every dealership provides a happy, smooth and helpful service when selling a car but the best dealerships provide a great after sales service too and look after you as a customer. Once Bravo Motors sell a car they cut all ties and do not care. I lost over £2000 from a faulty car purchased here but the actual stress and mental toll of a 6 month plus battle was far worse. Looking at the recent reviews it seems as though this is a common occurrence. I strongly advise anyone considering using this dealership to think again! I decided to go through a main dealer in the end and paid more but the difference in service is unbelievable and absolutely worth it!
Strongly advise anyone with issues to contact the AA as they are affiliated with Bravo Motors.

Unsafe cars

I really would not recommend buying a car from this company at all and would avoid at all costs. We purchased a car and booked in with our local garage to have the cambelt changed, due to this being due on the car we purchased. We asked our garage to check the car over and they noticed an oil leak, which was causing the clutch to slip, making the car unsafe to drive and putting us at risk of the clutch going at any given time. We called BMC and we're told that they would be happy to repair the oil leak, but wouldn't do the clutch as this wasn't covered under the warrantee. We explained that it was due to the oil leak that the clutch needed changing and that no reputable mechanic would just sort the oil leak and not replace the clutch, but BMC were still unwilling to help and left us feeling too anxious to go for the oil leak repair with them. We had the clutch changed and the garage has uncovered more problems with the car, such as the gearbox being so rusted, it needs a new shaft at the very least. Our garage described it as looking as if "the car had been sat at the bottom of a river". I'm not sure how these cars are passing MOTs or AA safety checks or how this business is still running, when it is selling cars in this state. But this has been an absolute nightmare of a car purchase for us and we would not wish our experience on anyone. I wouldn't even rate this car dealership 1*

Wouldn't purchase from here again

Bought a car 2 weeks ago and shown an apparent AA inspection which said it had passed, we ended up spending £10k on the car (blue Santa fe 2016) and came back the next weekend to collect it after some electrical faults had been fixed by their mechanic. On our journey home after about half an hour of driving the inner wheel arch and undertray started shredding off on the motorway- I let BMC know straight away and they agreed to buy a replacement part on Ebay (so not genuine parts) but wouldn't pay for a mechanic local to me to fix it and instead wanted me to travel the 1.5 hours back to them for a 'five minute job' which I wasn't happy with but had no choice. Before we could go back for the fix my husband noticed oil stains on our driveway so had a mechanic look under the car which was found to have some kind of oil, coolant or other fluid leak, the exhaust system was so rusted it was corroded to an awful state, many of the jubilee clips or pipe joints clips were rusted through and the AC hose had holes in it - basically a money pit.

I contacted BMC immediately and told them we wanted a refund and to return the car as it wasn't fit for purpose and provided them with all the photos of the issues with the car and was told I could bring it back for a refund but the refund would take a day and that it was subject to a mechanic checking the car over. I explained that I had kept the * manager* (who will remain nameless since BMC contacted trust pilot and asked me to remove the managers name from my review) well aware of any issues with the car since the day we purchased it and that I felt they were just being awkward because I'd asked for a refund. Eventually we came to an agreement after I complained and it was agreed that we would go there first thing Sunday for a refund.

Sunday 13th April we return the car. *said manager* looks under the car with my husband and accepts there is oil or other liquid leaking from the underneath of the car. He then refunds our money without issue and apologises by saying 'I'm sorry that shouldn't have happened' which I completely agree with but it did happen. I'm confused how this passed an AA inspection when the underside of the car was so badly corroded like it had been sat in a deep puddle for an extended period of time. (I have photos of everything). How can they sell something in thay condition?

Whilst ** said manager** was helpful and communicated with us there were times when we felt he was being purposely difficult on the off chance we'd just deal with the problems ourselves. That being said, he didn't hesitate to refund us once we were there so we are grateful for that.

Overall, if you're going to buy a car from here have a mechanic check the car over fully before your 30 day legal rights expire. BMC ordering cheap non genuine parts from ebay (in my opinion) isn't acceptable and refusal to pay a local mechanic to the customer for an hours labour (approximately £75) to fit the parts when you've paid £10,000 for a car and demanding you take it back to them is extremely unprofessional. I'm still at a financial loss as I've had to pay my insurance company a large 2 x admin fee to change my insurance from the car we returned to a new car we've purchased elsewhere because the car from BMC wasn't fit for purpose. I also replaced the windscreen wipers on the returned car at week ago at a cost to myself and bought and replaced a fuse because the headlight washers weren't working either. I know these are all small amounts but they soon add up! Plus the cost of fuel for 2 cars for the 1.5 hour drive to them 3 times.

I'm sure I'll be contacted at some point to remove my review again which I won't be doing.

Poor customer service

Bought a cheap first car for my daughter from Bravo and although the car has been fine so far the experience could have been so much more professional.
Agreed to buy the car and was told to call up and tell them what time we were collecting it so it could be cleaned and prepared. Did this and also asked for details so I could tax the car in advance. They didn’t have details to hand so said they would call me back which they never did. Arrived to pick the car up and it was still in the same place and condition I had left it after the test drive.
Still had not received the V5 document in December so called them to chase. It had magically been posted the day before - what are the chances? Still not received it in January so called them again to find out what was going on. Guess what? They didn’t have the details to hand but would call me back. No phone call ever came. I called the DVLA myself to follow up and they have never received the details from the dealer. I can’t say that I am surprised.
All of this might seem very trivial but it gives you a good indication of what they would be like if anything serious goes wrong. Once the sale is complete, forget about it!

They put things right if things go wrong & HONESTY is worth more than gold.

Overall everything worked out great. I bought a Skoda Kodiaq after finding it on autotrader. I travelled from the North East to see the car, around 4.5 hours drive each way and I was very happy that the car was exactly as described. Agreed to buy and arranged the financial aspects and picked it up the next week. On pick up day I was delayed in traffic, the guys stayed open after closing and waited for me to arrive so I could collect it. Everything went great.

Unfortunately after less than a week the car displayed a gearbox fault which was naturally disappointing. I contacted BMC and at first they said I had to bring the car to them for them to diagnose the issue. Obviously I argued that driving a car with a gearbox fault 4.5 hours away with no way to get home was unreasonable but that was part of the sale agreement. Exceptionally they allowed the car to be taken to a local garage to have the work done! I chose to take it to a local nameless VAG specialist who diagnosed the problem as “clutch position sensor 2 fault”. The VAG specialist (who I will now never go back to) saw that it was BMC paying the bill quoted the best part of £4000 for the repair…..? Out of interest I have since spoken to my local Skoda main dealer and asked them for a quote for the same repair they were proposing and it was some £1200 less than the specialist’s quote.

The BMC manager discussed this with me and said that they were not prepared to pay this (I don’t blame them!) and instead said they would send a driver with a courtesy car, collect my car, get the repair done then swap back over. Initially I wasn’t happy with this and asked to be refunded, to which they immediately agreed! No further quibbling. After thinking it through I decided to let them do the repair this way and this went ahead without issue. The courtesy car was of a similar size and spec and the whole process took 3 days. My only gripe, the ONLY one was that one member of staff ignored text messages asking for updates, but only one of them, everyone else was responsive and kept me fully informed.

Any dealer can sell you a car and be polite. That’s not hard or challenging, there are thousands of dealers in the country and most will be able to manage a decent experience when buying. The thing that marks out a truly GREAT dealer is the way they treat their customers when something goes wrong. I couldn’t have asked for more and the fact that they were willing to refund me without any sort of resistance was exceptional. They even fitted my private reg for me and fully valeted the car while they were on doing the fix.

I would strongly recommend this business and you can be absolutely sure that if something does go wrong, which is always a possibility when you buy a used car, they will bend over backwards to put it right.

Thank you so much, Iain, for taking the time to share your experience in such detail. We're thrilled to hear that, overall, your purchase went smoothly, and we're especially glad we could work with you to resolve the gearbox issue to your satisfaction.

We always aim to provide a hassle-free and transparent buying experience, so it’s great to know that the team’s efforts, like staying late for you on pick-up day and offering a courtesy car during the repair, made a positive impression. We do regret the communication hiccup you experienced with one of our staff, and we'll certainly take this on board to ensure we continue to improve in that area.

Your understanding and flexibility throughout the process, especially when it came to the repair situation, was appreciated. We're glad everything was resolved and that you were pleased with how things were handled. It’s feedback like yours that helps us to keep delivering the best service possible, even when challenges arise.

We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope you enjoy your Skoda Kodiaq for many miles to come! If there's anything else you ever need, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Safe travels!

A garage to trust; buying a car unseen

Living in North Wales, I was buying a car 'at arm's length' so needed someone I could trust. I was very fortunate to find Sam at Bravo Motors, who could not have been more helpful. He patiently and honestly answered all my questions, and kindly arranged delivery. I was impressed by the service, and pleased with the car, and would certainly recommend the garage (and Sam in particular) to friends. Thank you.

Although slightly disappointed with the final price offered after the car had been physically evaluated, it did end up being a better price than l would have got elsewhere or via private sale. Thanks to Ritchard @ the Derby Branch (currentlyworking out of Mercedes NG2 Inchcape), the experience was very straight forward and all completed in a very timely manner

Good morning Phil,

hope you are well.

It's most likely that this review is for a similar named business , which does happen fairly often .

As we would not charge for diagnostics.

Please would you mind double checking this review.
