Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the quality of the products, citing issues such as manufacturing defects, watches breaking down prematurely, and components like straps and bezels failing. Reviewers also frequently reported problems with customer service, describing it as unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to access, particularly when seeking repairs or assistance. The high price of the watches was a common point of contention, especially when coupled with perceived poor quality and expensive repair costs. Some people were satisfied with the service they received, highlighting helpful and knowledgeable staff in boutiques, and positive experiences with watch servicing that left their timepieces "like new." However, a small portion of people felt that the company's approach to customer relations was disrespectful, with some feeling pressured to purchase new models instead of having existing issues resolved.

Sent my Avenger 45 back to breitling…

Sent my Avenger 45 back to breitling after just a year and a half due to the inside of the glass having a condensation mark on it, they then tell me the watch had passed the pressure test so it’s not the manufactures fault so warrant won’t cover it, Then they add more work which again isn’t covered by the warranty saying that it needs a new battery and seal this is on a $8,900 after just 18 months total repair is $890 definitely won’t be buying a breitling again I will still to a better brand like the trusty Casio

I bought a used Navitimer - last Breitling for me

I bought a used Navitimer. First thing I thought would be prudent was having the watch overhauled. As the watch passed through their system, the estimates for repairs literally tripled [each time allegedly finding additional work needed, like a "bent stem" which wasn't "bent" on estimates 1 & 2]. Omitted from every estimate was a price for a "Certificate of Authenticity" (CoA). When I declined the repairs and requested the CoA only, they told me they could not issue the CoA without doing the repairs. I finally got a "supervisor" to approve issuance of the CoA without doing the repairs. This was five (5) months ago. I'm now told it will take another month before I get my watch back. Six (6) months to have a report issued [assuming I get my watch back next month as suggested]. This is one Mickey Mouse operation I will NOT be dealing with again.

Breitling I’m giving you a chance not to disappoint us (watch enthusiasts)

I like that the watch Breitling Mens Superocean Automatic 42 Blue Rubber Strap Watch A17366D81C1S1 has an exceptional water resistance up to 500 meters (not that I’ll ever use it but it’s nice to see it, ahead of its direct competitors). It has a unidirectional bezel (screwed in), but has a bit off play (not as tight as a Submariner). I am also pleased with the movement (calibre 17 or ETA2824-2) which is a well tested workhorse. To me this is what should represent a TOOL WATCH, a simple uncluttered dial with a nice design (the shape of the numbers could do with a bit of redesign, they look a bit cartoony, makes me smile though)😊. The new model I think is too bling and no longer represent a true tool watch (the one you can take anywhere and everywhere without worrying about). Of course no watch is perfect but if Breitling would have added ANTI MAGNETISM to it (like an Omega seamaster 15 000 GAUSS) let’s keep in mind that MAGNETISM is the biggest enemy; and would have gotten rid of the date, gently redesign the numbers, then this would have been for me THE PERFECT Tool WATCH!
BUT for £2270 that I’ve paid for it (got a generous discount for a new watch) I can’t really complain.
Genuinely recommended even at full price (starts at £2860 on the rubber band)
I wish Breitling would read the reviews and address some of the issues for the next generation Superocian (at least a small batch along with whatever design they will go for with their next model)
So Breitling if you read this please keep it simple (hence ROLEX), add ANTI MAGNETISM and at least 5 years of warranty (as your direct competitors) NOT only 2 (Omega has 5, Rolex has 5, etc…) SHOW that YOU STAND behind YOUR PRODUCT ! ! !
As is a new watch I hope I won’t be disappointed by your AFTER SALE service.
Regards R

Breitling customer service is an…

Breitling customer service is an absolute joke, do not buy one!!! I sent my watch to them to be assessed as condensation was getting in and they quoted me £1600!!! I asked them to send it back as I wasn't prepared to pay that much for a seal and now I have it back I can't even move the hands. They reckon it is probably seized due to rust!! What sort of a mickey mouse company is Breitling? I paid £5,000 for what I thought would be a quality watch but it turns out their watches are like something you win at a fairground!! Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

I have a Aerospace Evo

I have a Aerospace Evo. Last November I made an appointment at the Breitling shop in Madrid to buy a new strap. The appointment was a month later in December. Plenty of time to get my strap. I left Lisbon early that day to be sure I would be on time for the appointment in Madrid. Got to the Breitling shop. No strap. No sorry. Just rudeness. So on Sunday I will be in transit at Zurich airport. I sent an email to the Breitling shop requesting an appointment for a new strap. Provided full details of my watch. No reply from Breitling

Breitling The Worst Luxury Watches Brand in UK

I am not surprise at all to see Trustpilot reviews on Breitling to be 1.4 stars, but this realisation comes too later after I have encountered my first issue with Breitling.

I purchased a Navitimer B01 43 from Breitling in July 2022, it was a smart watch, excellent look.
Haven't been wearing it much, only in some odd occasions and it was in a tip top condition.

After 7 months owning the watch, I noticed the reset button on the 4 o’clock position have stop working, it got stuck and I couldn’t reset the red hand.
The watch has a 12 months warranty, which is quite standard. I then brought the watch to a branch to look into the issue. I have been told by the Branch Manager that this should be covered by the warranty and I will be contacted with an estimated time to repair the issue. He was confident at that time.

After about 2 weeks waiting, I received an email and a phone call from the Branch Manager, sending me an invoice of over £600.00 + VAT invoice for the examination and services.
As I have been told that the issue was a result of accident or misapplication which is not covered under the warranty! “The 4 o’clock pusher becoming bent causing damage to the chronograph mechanism in the internal movement”

However as a goodwill gesture, they are happy to offer a 50% discount, and the final invoice value was still £433.67
I called the customer service in London and request an explanation of the issue, but the customer service absolutely appalling. The person whom answered the call was just repeating what the email has written, I couldn’t speak to anyone who was in charge of the examination, or who can make a decision. All the managers was on "holiday" or "away from the desk". I left my contact details, and I do not expect anyone to call me back.

I just find Breitling is an absolutely joke, they market themselves as a premium brand of watch for aviator, an iconic pilots chronograph, with a stainless steel case.
I have no idea why the pusher quality can be so poor on a daily use and cannot withstand a knock or a shock. All that says the quality of Breitling watch is just very poor.

What worst is that Breitling do not honour their warranty, when you encountered issue with your watch, they will came up with some reasons which is not easily understandable by the customer, and not commonly able to justifiable by the customer and try to charge the customer for something while the watch was sent to them for examination. Customer will leave no choice but to agree to what they propose.

They try to make themselves look better by offering a goodwill gesture of discount on the repair, but the price itself has already over charge! Especially the watch is still under warranty.

Other brands have done a better job in customer services, I have once scratches the glass sruface of a Hublot, and I received brand new replacement without any question asked.

The most disgusting thing was that when I last visited the Breitling branch, I did express some interests on a another Premier Watch, and the branch manager remembered that.
So when I contacted him this time, he told me that if I am buying another watch with them now, he can try to work his magic by omitting my current watch service charges. I think this is an absolutely joke.

I do not need a 50% goodwill gesture for the service or even a free service because I am buying another watch with Breitling, but if Breitling offered a warranty on the watch I have purchased, they should honoured it despite whether or not I am spending more money with them.

I don’t think I will spend another penny on Breitling product, they have proven themselves to be one of the worst luxury brand in the market. Customer service handling is poor, warranty is blur and not transparent. I do not recommend Breitling, and strongly discourage anyone who is looking into getting a Breitling. The watch may look amazing, but the quality and the customer service is just appalling. This brand is too commercial and cannot be trusted. Money can be better spend on other brands, such as Hublot and Rolex.

Repair costs

Breitling I am appalled by your Aftersales team. I sent back my SuperOcean Heritage watch as the chronograph couldn't be stopped nor reset. This fantastic watch should be very robust, rated to 20bar. Unfortunately the pusher buttons seem to be the weak link of the watch and I am told both are now bent... I have had this watch for 1.5 years only and I don't understand how that is possible as the watch has not been dropped nor did I ever find it in a place it should not have been. I am now told to pay 10% of the watch price to get it fixed. This is extremely annoying and disappointing for a watch of this high standard. I am therefore considering to get it back without repair and to never get a Breitling watch ever again as they do not seem reliable nor solid.

The worst customer service, faulty watches, absolutely no willingness to repair their faulty product properly

I bought a watch from one of the authorised Breitling online dealer, a watch which is extremely fast from day 1(approximately 5 minutes/month), way beyond the usual tolerance.
I sent to their service 4 times now, after each intervention nothing changed, not a single second less.
The customer service is basically nonexistent, even if we agree on the phone about a minor information to be sent trough email regarding warranty, they don't send anything even after 6 months.
Their teritorial representative is refusing any help, laughing on me basically saying ''bad luck''.
The watch was sent back and forth to service, until I run out of warranty time.
Their closest authorised service had no trained technician until last year, but they refused categorically my request to accept the watch into one of their service with skilled personal, even after insisting on it, and even after was clear that previous several interventions didn't made any improvement. Sending the watch back 4 times to the same service, which is unable to fix it, and they still instruct me to do it again, they are not accepting it to another service is absolutely against any logic, but not for Breitling!
They refused to extend the warranty with the amount of time while my watch was sitting in the service, and I was unable to benefit from it.
And the cherry on the cake, Breitling representative suggested that I should turn against the Breitling dealer from where I bought the watch the problem is between me and the dealer, and the Breiling service where my watch was directed to be serviced during warranty (!) is actually ''doing a favour to me''! Yes, I quoted correctly, Breitling service is doing a favour trying to repair my Breitling watch under warranty! Can you believe it ? That's how they stand behind their products!

Do not use Breitling to service your watch

I really wish I had read these reviews before sending my Breitling to be serviced and a new battery fitted. - Cost for maintenance service £150. I told them that I didn't want a major service as this includes case and strap polishing, replacement of face and hands if necessary. They have just replied with estimate = full service with polishing of case and strap, plus new hands. They also want to fit a new crown and glass....I give up!

Old Breitling Good, New Breitling BAD

I bought a Breitling Colt Chrono watch in 2009 which I then used daily, including when I went flying as a private pilot. Apart from the occasional (and expensive) new battery and occasionally service (another expense) I have had no trouble with my Breitling Colt Chrono. I then bought a Breitling Endurance Pro in August 2022 to compliment my original Breitling watch. Within a week of purchasing that Endurance Pro the watch had stopped working three times in quick succession for no apparent reason over one particular weekend. The watch then went back and was replaced. Now the replacement Endurance Pro watch (which itself arrived with a minor stopwatch quality issue) has unexpectedly stopped working after only five months of use. Both my original 2009 and 2022 Breitling watches came from the same dealership. As a result I am now once again wearing my old Breilting watch.

While Breiitling service itself was never fast and efficient, the amount of trouble I have had since August 2022 does suggest that Breitling has dispensed with high standard production quality control. Be warned.

I just tried to ask some help to correct my address but they ignoring my E-mails. Very disappointing.

After Sales Service

I went to my local Breitling stockist (Jura Watches in Whitby) to ask for a battery replacement and was told the cost was £60 and it would be away a few weeks. After 2 months I contacted the shop and was told the watch needed a COMPULSARY update which would cost in excess of £1300. You must be joking!! I only wanted a battery. Asked for the watch to be returned which it was several weeks later with a service charge of £40. I ordered a pack of 2 batteries from Amazon for £2.97. I cleaned it and replaced the battery and is now running perfectly. The same day I put the watch in for the new battery I bought a Breitling Aerospace limited edition and was told I would get a free gift worth £200 - I’m still waiting 4 MONTHS later.
Totally disgusted with this company and their after sales service.
IN MY OPINION DO NOT BUY BREITLING

Total Rip-Off hiding behind a prestige name

To say I am disgusted by the treatment I have received from Breitling is an understatement.

I paid £900 for a service from their UK centre, (via a local jeweller as you can’t go directly there even in the same town).

Once the watch was returned to me it consistently ran slowly then stopped altogether. I returned it to the jewellers who confirmed that this was a warranty issue & that they would return it to the service centre.

After a further 2 months I went to collect the watch. It did not work & was reported as such the same day. Once again it was returned for a warranty repair. I will point out the watch was not worn & immediately returned.

After a further delay I was informed that the watch had been damaged since they last had it, (100% impossible), & that as a gesture of goodwill I only had to pay a further £600 for them to fix it. They supplied a photo showing a dented bezel. If the watch was damaged it was whilst in their hands.

The watch did not work after service one, they allegedly repaired it & it didn’t work at all. At no point have they explained why it didn’t work after the 2nd service or claim any damage at this point.

They pay no attention to the fact that between Service 2 & 3 the watch was not in my care, they just insist I damaged it.

Absolutely disgusting company & now I will have to take them to court as I am sick of companies hiding behind a prestige name, yet happy to rip you off.

Simple solution, Don’t buy a BREITLING.

WHAT A LEMON! DON'T BUY BREITLING

Oh my. I wish I spoke with some Breitling owners before I spent $8,900, what a rubbish product.
Service is terrible, and the watch has never kept time even after the service was $360. When I went to book it back in (that week) they (Breitling service) tell me that it would cost me $180 just to have a look. This is just after I paid them $360.
Don't buy this brand... YOU WILL NOT GET A BACKED PRODUCT. Contacted the service team (Sydney) about this and got no satisfaction, contacted the head office (Switzerland) (three times (3) with no response. DO NOT BUY A BREITLING... RUBBISH, PRODUCT, RUBBISH & NONE OF THE WORK IS GUARANTEED EVEN IF THEY SAY IT ON THEIR SITE. I HAVE A WATCH THAT DOES NOT KEEP TIME AND NEVER HAS SINCE THE SERVICE & REPAIRS. THE BEZEL CAME OUT ALSO.
NOW THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME TO REPAIR THE WATCH THEY DELIVERED AFTER PAYING $2,375.

Nice watch, terrible company that is not capable of repairing a Breightling watch, LOL

I purchased a B-1 watch in the late 90's. Around 10 years later, the watch broke and sat in a drawer for years.
I brought it to Mayors and they sent it to Breightling. They offered a repair and gave me the option of spending almost $1000.00 more for recommended services. They screwed up and wound up giving me my money back for the repairs. Now I have a slew of new problems. I bring it back again. In the course of 18 months, they had my watch most of that time. The band broke so I brought it to Mayors. They wanted almost 1k for the replacement watch bracelet. I declined because I believed it could be repaired. When I went to pick it up, Mayors "misplaced" the links that were bad. This meant that I now lost the option to bring it somewhere else for the bracelet repair. Aside from that, they also offered the same recommended services for another 1000.00. I declined because they had just done this a year earlier. Last time I got my watch back, the digital and analog will not sync. I've given up on Breightling.
I WILL RECOMMEND NOT TO PURCHASE A BREIGHTLING!!!! Mostly because they can't even repair their own watches.

I brought my watch to Breitling’s Paris…

I brought my watch to Breitling’s Paris main store for maintenance and to get it demagnetized. It took a month to get it back and it came back with a broken strap. They tried to hide that. When I showed them, they offered me a similar strap. It was not the orginal style. I find myself buying a new strap online and it appears I may have to pay again for mounting it. It makes me wonder about what else they screwed up… I don’t want to find it has been badly sealed after maintenance while I’m diving!
