Absolutely awful , avoid taking your pet at all cost , absolute lying thieves, make up prices then change them once the cost has been agreed!!

I left briar Dawn some time ago after my dog being booked in for a procedure that didn't happen .Then the staff were incompetence with their billing that I paid the bill and permission was granted to tranfare vets all documents went over then I received another bill as they hadn't allowed for so they say .So I foolishly paid that can't believe the cash I have saved since leaving their practice and deal with vets that care for the animal not big conglomerates in it for the money not the animals

This vet practice as changed all about money first animal welfare second I believe they are now part of a corporate group and it shows the vets are salesmen first .Over the course of a week with my 18 year old cat blood tests £300+ then wanting to do scans £600+ surely if you have been to vet school you have some idea of what is wrong with an animal from it's symptoms? Makes me wonder if the corporate suits set targets for the staff to meet by taking as much money from owners as they can with emotional blackmail

The Briar Dawn of old was one of the best vets in the area. Over the last few months we have seen a decline in both quality of services and the attitude of some of the staff.
Most of the old staff have left including many excellent vets.
Priority seems to be making money and not animal interest. Mark up of drugs is extortionate.
Advice given changed from consultation on Monday to today , vet needs to make her mind up which advice is correct.
After we saw the vet on Monday I was left waiting for medication for 25 minutes, despite asking if it could be chased up. The medication was brought to reception but both receptionists carried on seeing people in the queue and answering the phones. I went back to reception to ask again for the medication. No apology for the wait, in fact I don’t think they remembered I was waiting.
We have now left Briar Dawn as we feel the practice is declining further which is such a shame as twelve months ago we were recommending Briar Dawn and saying what an excellent practice it was

We have used your practice for nearly 5 years allways fantastic and a relief to know you are there when needed also our little chap comes for his care plan treatments but today for the first time the attitude of a nurse was not very good at all,when people bring their pets to a vet thay are worried and dont expect this our pet actually had a booked appointment....he was seen by a nurse whos attitude was very poor

Absolutely wonderful vets, caring and compassionate above all expectations. When our angel had to be put to sleep they were so kind and understanding and let us spend time with her before she died

It was my idea to take my poorly cat to Briar Dawn 3 weeks ago. I regret doing so because the vet did too much and shaved excessive fur off to do a scan I had not asked to be done. My poor Sheba detiorated after the visit and had to be put to sleep a week later. I blame myself for what happened. I doubt that I will use Briar Dawn again in the future.

My pet dog Henry had his neutering operation on 3/10/23. The staff were all friendly and understanding as Henry has anxiety and is aggressive. However they dealt with him professionally and made it a calm experience for him as well as me. The care and attention he received was excellent. A nurse sat with me and the vet kept coming to check on Henry until he had come round enough to go home. Everyone at briar dawn were brilliant. Lovely homely environment. Excellent.

Wonderful and caring vets, my adopted Westie has had 12 teeth removed, and, had a great follow up.

I am so so happy certainly has been the best vet I’ve ever gone too. They went above and beyond to help my puppy Thor. They was so loving and caring towards Thor and put me and my husband at ease and supported us all throughout Thors journey to recovery and health. They reassured us because I honestly thought I would of lost him. They even rang up to make sure Thor was ok. I am really greatful for everything you have and are doing for Thor. Maria and Jackie was brilliant. All the staff are so caring and are always there to help. The amount of help and care was amazing. Thank you so so much for helping Thor and for caring and loving towards him. You saved him and you never gave up. Thank you so so much. I recommend brier dawn to everyone they care for all pets and certainly looked after Thor. No one will be disappointed in using Brier Dawn they ain’t about making money they are more concerned about our pets. Thank you again for everything you have done for Thor. Huge thank you to Maria and Jackie and all the staff at brier Dawn.

not to be trusted the manager and recepition staff don't care about pets or owners if you dare to complain you get bullied out of the practice do not trust the place with your animals at all

Excellent service everytime we have used Briar Dawn. We are always fully informed at any visits and the staff are so helpful. I have recommended other pet owners to Briar Dawn, as we wouldn't go anywhere else.

Just moved to this vets they have been amazing with our Labrador who has diabetes but we cannot regulate her glucose levels. Rob has been absolutely fabulous basically starting from scratch to eliminate and or confirm his thoughts. They treat you extremely well with regular updates and very friendly staff. We do not yet have a confirmed diagnosis but I am confident we will soon

Took my extremely nervous dog here for the first time yesterday. Had previously emailed them with loads of questions to make sure they were the right vets for us. They had given lots of reassuring answers and been very patient in answering them

They let you wait outside to minimise stress so I went in and let the receptionist know we were waiting outside because she was nervous. The vet, James, came and got us and stood between us and another dog to avoid any unwanted interactions.

He examined her on the floor and just let her wonder around and practically ignored her which is exactly what she needs. At one point she got herself into a corner and he waited for me to move her out before checking her as he didn't want her to feel backed into a corner and get even more scared.

When we came out to sort the admin, someone came in with a much bigger stray dog that was very rude and got in her face, so I took her into the sectioned off small flurries but and the receptionist, Mandy, put a chair in the gap to keep the dog away from her.

Once out I realised I'd forgot something so I went back and thr receptionist Mandy, apologised for the commotion which stressed my dog out, but it was really nobody's fault and if I'd realised it was going to get so busy I'd have waited outside while my mum sorted the admin out. She also said that next time they'd give us a quiter appointment time. I also realised I'd forgot to weigh my dog and she said it's fine to do it next time rather than get her out of the car to do it and stress her more.

None of these accommodations were ever too much trouble and there was no judgement when I mentioned her reactivity.

I cannot praise this place highly enough . I have a dog with many problems and not only do they make me feel at ease leaving her there . I have them to thank for the last diagnosis which the vet Rob picked up on . As upsetting as it is at least she can start treatment to help her symptoms . All the staff are friendly and caring and very professional . My dog is a diva and won’t normally leave my side but I feel safe when she is in the care of this practice . Thank you for your care and time to explain things .

Briar Dawn Vets just have to be the best veterinary practice I have ever been to. They are so caring, friendly and actually show that they're interested in what you have to say and answer any questions or concerns you may have about your pet/s. I sadly had to have x3 ferrets put to sleep over the past few years ( all at different times) due to cancerous tumors. Briar dawn Vets did everything they could, even looked after me after my last ferret was put to sleep and I was very upset as I had Sparkie for around 7 years, it was really sad to have to let him go! I even received a card through the post with 'forget me not' seeds inside which I planted near where all x3 of my little furries are buried together, now there is forget me nots all over? Thank you Briar Dawn for all you have done and continue to do. My x2 ferrets - Hopkins and Mindy are currently registered with you and I am totally confident in your expertise and caring nature and trust you wholeheartedly with their care? 😃

Professional, friendly, helpful just lovely

We had to take in our dog while in labour ... resulting in emergency csection.. we was kept informed all the way and given brews .. sadly 4 pups didn't make it and the upset you could see from Emily and James and all the other 6 staff that helped was thru passion and caring for both pet and owners. While we had 1 surviving pup they was there for us when we needed them even if it was for advise ..Sadler we lost last pup on day 8 and then you could see the sadness in rob whom we had never met.... while taking mum for last check up James was upset when he learned baby had t made it on the Saturday .... would highly recommend because they will go above and beyond for you and your pets x

We have used briar Dawn for years for previous pets and regular check ups but over the last 18 months our cat has had a terrible time of it and has had to visit up to 3 times a week. Rob and the team have been incredible with her and with us. Explaining everything that is happening, switching things round to limit the stress my cat was put under. They have truly been incredible and I couldn't ask for more from a vets. I will be with them for life. Thank you.

Friendly and caring. Although they have a number of vets who are relatively new, there is a core team of long standing vets. This was particularly helpful when our cat was coming to the end of her life as they had knowledge of our cat and our wishes and we were able to ask to see a specific vet. Although an extremely upsetting time, having a vet and reception staff who we had seen on many previous occasions made it slightly more bearable when it was time to say goodbye.
