Lesson planning and grading
Required and live graded lesson planning makes this course a win for new teachers with no experience. You finish your certificate with some level of real understanding of what you’re going to be doing as a teacher. I discussed lots of questions with my grader who was helpful not only with assignments, but also cultural advice about how to teach English in a foreign country.

THIS is a Certificate?
Certificates are meant to enhance the qualifications of the recipients as well as promote the cachet of the granting institutuion. You should be able to see them in the background hanging on the wall if the recipient is delivering a webinar or teaching a lesson.
You couldn't even read the Bridge certificate because the fonts are so small. You wouldn't want to frame it and hang it because the design is so flawed. It will go in a file folder never to be seen again.
So disappointing was this certificate experience that I called and spoke to someone at Bridge about it. Bridge is often a one-way street; rarely have they responded to phone messages or email inquiries. As such, they come across suspiciously like a diploma mill.
During the sebveral months I worked on theis course there was a message on many lesson units saying they were having difficulty furnishing some of the materials and they were working on a fix. It never got fixed and may still be there.
The final project, a surprise for sure, uses a PDF template that must be enabled for editing to complete in M'soft Word with a limited subset of editing options making it a very awkward format to work in.
The rep I finally spoke to was receptive and courteous but I had to call them, they didn't call me. Bridge comes off to me as a lonely electronic, unmonitored outpost, a castle surrounded by a moat with the drawbridge drawn up.

Worth the while
Although I started this course as a way to stay busy, I became more attracted to the potential lifestyle, especially for someone like me so enjoys travelling and exploring. There are many accessible and various resources for students, and I was able to improve the aspects of English that I never mastered (as well as some mistakes I’ve been consistently making that I never knew about).

I enjoyed the topics covered in the course, including all the sections and subtopics—they were interesting and well-structured. However, I found that most of the material involved a lot of reading, and I would have preferred more videos or interactive content. The videos provided felt outdated and could be improved with more engaging, modern resources. Additionally, I didn’t like that students don’t have ongoing access to the platform to review the material at any time.

This tefl company do not return calls neither respond to emails. That alone is a red flag. I will be doing the tefl certification course elsewhere.
