My experience with Bright Solicitors…
My experience with Bright Solicitors during our eviction process was deeply disappointing and, at times, felt unnecessarily hostile. My wife and I were expecting our first child at the time—just three months away from giving birth—and instead of being met with any understanding or compassion, we were treated with coldness and what felt like scare tactics.
Despite our landlord accepting a tenancy renewal, and me clearly stating our intention to renew, Bright Solicitors disputed this and supported what we believe was an invalid Section 21 notice. Only after being challenged did they then proceed with a lawful notice—but by that point, the confusion and stress had already taken its toll.
What stood out the most was the tone of their correspondence. They implied legal threats around statements of truth and even commented that they had seen we were “actively house-hunting” via social media. This kind of surveillance felt intrusive and unnecessary—offering no real legal value, only emotional pressure at a vulnerable time in our lives.
We were about to become parents, doing our best to keep our home secure, and instead of being met with a degree of understanding, we were subjected to rigid, impersonal communication that only heightened our distress. It was a deeply upsetting experience.
I have previously used Phillipa at Bright Solicitors for help with business matters, and she was professional and helpful—but based on our recent experience, I wouldn’t recommend the company as a whole.
