I would never trust BrightStar Care to provide quality care for ANYONE! Please do yourself or your family member a favor and choose another home health care agency. This is by far one of the worst home health care services I’ve ever encountered.

This organization is unprofessional and incompetent. I contacted BrighterStar Care because I had a medical procedure scheduled in Louisville , and I was required by my physician to secure home health care for the first 1-2 days after surgery.

First of all , scheduling this care with BrightStar was a logistical nightmare. What should have been a simplistic task inexplicably took two days due to incompetence on the part of the BrightStar Care staff. They honestly should change their name to DarkStar. I received multiple calls from them asking me to resend paperwork which had already been sent numerous times. I’m still unsure why the scheduling process was so complicated, but staff incompetence appeared to be a primary reason.

Secondly, on the day of my scheduled care appointment, I unfortunately experienced a multitude of problems. First of all, my scheduled caregiver was a no show! After twenty frustrating minutes, I contacted. BrightStar, and, to their credit, they did apologize and sent over a replacement caregiver. This replacement caregiver was supposed to stay with me for 8 hours and help with my. post surgery recovery. Imagine my surprise when I fell asleep for an hour only to wake up and find my caregiver gone .. along with my pain medication. Adding to this nightmare, she also left the front door of my apartment unlocked.. leaving me unknowingly vulnerable, exposed, and in danger.An immediate call to BrightStar Care did nothing to remedy the situation. Their reaction can best be described as indifference, unfortunately.

I’m writing this review to help other people who might make the mistake of hiring this horrible business, Do yourself and your loved ones a favor and AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.

I highly recommend. Very responsive. Shout out specifically to Billie Raines (Pepper), she has been nothing but a blessing to me and my situation. She has gone above and beyond. I work from home, so she was able to work around my work hours which was very convenient to where the visits did not interrupt any work interruptions or commitments. she has taken such good care of my wound that it is healing up just nicely and goes the extra mile on its care

I called in on a Sunday afternoon and Brightstar came to my home to start care for my critically ill veteran father. He gave his life to insure our freedom and Brightstar treated him with the love and care he deserved. They stayed with us day and night and went beyond our expectations. An amazing fact is that some of our care givers were also veterans, making my father so comfortable. I certainly recommend Brightstar for the care your loved one deserves!

Very inconsistent care. Out of four caregivers, I've only had one quality experience.

Several were on their phones non-stop. One hid to play on her phone when she was supposed to be watching the patient to make sure they didn't choke or have a seizure. Unsafe and inconsistent care.

Very expensive and poor service. While many of the employees are caring, the company doesn’t care about their clients at all, only about getting more billable hours. They have left my father alone in bed on numerous occasions and done anything about staff failing to show up. Some of the staff are experienced and genuinely care about what they are doing but most staff, and there is a different one every day, are not briefed on the client or requisite tasks, come in late, leave early and are on the mobile phone half the time and when this feedback is given to the company they categorize you as being a client with an attitude. If you can find any other alternative I would take it, Brightstar is awful.

This dangerous company failed to show up three times for my elderly father in law. They didn’t even call to say they wouldn’t be there. They lied during the consultation and after the fact said service “was never guaranteed.”

Over promise and under deliver to people you were hired to care for. Expensive, dangerous and shameful. Stay away from this company

BEWARE! If you value the health and safety of your elderly relatives, do NOT trust BrightStarCare to provide services for them. They consistently fail to show up and provide necessary care for their vulnerable clientele, literally endangering lives through their shoddy business practices.
