⚠️ WARNING BA Bait and Switch to Vueling
⚠️ WARNING: BA Prices for Worse Than Ryanair Service (Vueling is Dire)Headline: The ultimate bait-and-switch. British Airways prices for service that makes Ryanair look like Emirates. Absolute disgrace.Review:Do not be fooled by booking through British Airways. I paid premium BA prices expecting a reputable, full-service airline experience, only to be subjected to the ultimate airline bait-and-switch: a flight operated by Vueling.I have flown budget airlines before, but Vueling is uniquely awful. In fact, their dire service makes Ryanair seem like Emirates by comparison. The customer service is non-existent, the staff are completely indifferent, and the operational chaos is shocking. You get hit with all the aggressively cheap downsides of a bottom-tier budget airline, except you paid the premium price tag of a national flag carrier. If BA is going to pocket premium fares and outsource their flights to a subpar operator, they need to be transparent about it. Total rip-off. Avoid these BA/Vueling codeshare bookings at all costs unless you want to pay double for the worst service in the sky.
Cancelled flight followed by lies
Cancelled flight followed by lies, tech failures anj joke customer service. Spent 90 mins sitting on a plane already late at Edinburgh airport. Then told faulty and cancelled. Told staff would help us when in airport. No staff. Waited over 2 hours to get bags back. Could not book other flights as told flight not cancelled, By time allowed to book no flight until next day. Customer service alled 8 times. Lied to, dropped calls or ridiculous refusal to answer questions. Clicked on email to rebook a flight. It said I could go to a different airport that night - but tech would not take booking. Send email saying could book hotel, but had to be on BA portal. The portal had error messages first. Then when go on again had no hotels. Rung ibn againg and ask to get a train instead as goiung to London. Told no trains. Another lie. Booked my own train as did 20 other passengers. Tried filling in complaint form on website to get compensation. It doesnt work. Call in again. They can't do anything. All dodgy indian call centre who dont answer questions and play games. There is no number to call for complaints. So screwed in everyway.

The system was very easy to use and they helped resolve my issue with ease. I liked the WhatsApp approach because I didn’t have to stay in the phone for hours waiting to speak to someone, however it did take a few hours to get a response which in my case was okay, but had my meter been urgent it may not have been. Overall I was very pleased with my experience.

Happy
My problem was resolved with a great deal of satisfaction, the only reason I didn't give maximum was the time it took to respond.

Terrible service at rip-off prices
Why is BA always so utterly useless and such a rip-off. We are travelling Heathrow to Valencia and return in Business Class, but we could only reserve our seats 24 hours in advance unless we pay over £100 extra for choosing the seat. We bought the flight 6 months ago, so when we try to check in today 22 hours before the flight all that is left is 3A and 3D, so we can't even sit together unless we can persuade someone else to move. As always BA provides terrible service at rip-off prices and are totally uninterested in serving their customers. No wonder they only get a rating of 1.6 and their management just do not care.
Absolutely disgraceful from BA…
Absolutely disgraceful experience with British Airways.
We paid £168 specifically to reserve twin seats 43H/43J on our Heathrow–Las Vegas flight. BA changed the aircraft the day before travel, removed the seats we had paid for and moved us into a three-seat block.
No proper warning. No equivalent replacement. No proactive solution.
I have now spent hours on live chat and the phone trying to fix a problem caused entirely by BA. I was told the only remaining twin seats are 73B/73C, but they are under airport control and nobody in the contact centre can secure them.
One phone agent even promised to look into a Glasgow Airport contact, placed me on hold, then the call ended and dumped me into a survey.
We have repeatedly explained that twin seats are essential to us for this long-haul journey. This is not a minor preference. We genuinely do not wish to travel now unless this is resolved.
What should have been the excitement before a holiday of a lifetime has been completely ruined by stress, uncertainty and appalling customer service.
Aircraft changes happen. But taking money for a specific seating arrangement, removing it the day before travel, then telling the customer to turn up at the airport and hope for the best is unacceptable.
I am absolutely disgusted with how this has been handled.
Cancellations and no help
My flight was cancelled two hours before and then next alternative was due to arrive three days later. Had to rebook on a competitor at my own expense. At no point was customer service or staff any help.
No way BA part 2
Well, this is a part 2 following on from my original “No Way BA!”
We were delayed by 6 hours on a flight from Malta to Gatwick on the 6/8/26 and until Wednesday had not received any compensation which we were legally entitled to.
We have now received the full amount back after many emails back and forth and I believe as a direct consequence of the dire review I wrote on here previously. This resulted in a phone call from them to me (unlike them, I answered their call)
I spoke with a lady by the name of Demi who acknowledged all of my issues, said I would receive a full refund and asked for any suggestions.
So BA, aside from the obvious one of answering the phone when frustrated passengers ring, I would also propose, in order to bring your shocking rating up ( which really is phenomenally bad) you be the first airline to contact customers about their refunds. You know you have to pay it by law, so instead of making people jump through hoops, check your passenger manifesto (after all you know exactly who was on there, which seat they sat in, even which food they purchased) and get in there first. You would probably be the first airline to do this. Set a trend BA, it may just save you!
two flights cancelled within 6 months and I only fly twice a year !
My flight from Spain to london was cancelled in April. The alternative given was inconvenient and led to extra costs so i complained via their official channel. It is now only 6 months later and i have had ANOTHER flight cancelled and still not received a response to the first complaint. So my holiday has now been cut short by 24 hours.
I think they are taking lessons from the Ryanair school of management. I used to think they were worth paying extra for but not any more
If I could give 0 I would
If I could give 0 I would - waiting 11 days for a refund - 7 hrs chasing so far - constantly fobbed off - they have £3500 of my money and are failing their own refund policy - was guaranteed an email yesterday - not happened - no one taking any responsibility

Absolute joke of an airline for long haul, do not fly with BA unless you want a miserable trip. We had someone sat in the middle in economy with a fixed box under their seat, why don’t you warn people when booking that certain seats are only suitable for children? How hard could that be? Run down planes, miserable staff, ridiculous cabin temperature for a night fight. Words of advice, if your passengers are all putting coats on it’s too cold
To top it off no air bridge at T5 Heathrow!!!!! It’s your own terminal and you can’t park at a gate? Ridiculous, BA is the Ryanair of long haul

Unable to check-in online due to an issue with their app. Then given terrible seats as a result as had to check-in manually at the airport also causing further delays to our journey. Seats very uncomfortable and the plane smelt of excrement too. Also delayed taking off 😒 🙄

The staff were extremely unprofessional and unhelpful. Passengers were forced to check in their cabin baggage, with little to no explanation. The check-in counters also did not open on time, and there was no prior communication about these arrangements. Overall, the experience was very disappointing and poorly managed.
Amazing access team!
I just want to to say a massive thank you to both Craig and Tracey in the accessibles team, really effortless help! I am extremely hard of hearing and the service and ease of communication was awesome!! Thank you!!

British Airways: When Things Go Wrong, Passenger Care Goes With It
After many years of flying British Airways, today’s experience on BA704 Heathrow–Larnaca was extremely disappointing.
We had to divert to Munich because of a medical emergency onboard. To be absolutely clear, we completely understood and supported the decision to divert — someone’s health and safety must always come first.
What disappointed us was how BA looked after passengers afterwards.
We spent around two hours on the aircraft in Munich while the passenger was taken off, the aircraft refuelled and everything necessary dealt with. Having woken at 3:30am for our 06:55 flight, the journey became considerably longer — yet BA simply did not have enough food onboard for everyone.
More than 20 passengers were left without a proper food option and had to buy whatever small snacks remained. Even additional water wasn't proactively offered; we eventually had to ask for another bottle ourselves.
After several passengers complained, my husband and I asked to speak to the Inflight Lead, Tricia Cox. She apologised and explained that there was little the crew could do as “these are our budgets.” She even asked crew members if they would give up their sandwiches, but understandably they wanted their meals too.
What really didn't sit well with me was being told that the crew had decided to get us back to Larnaca even though they could have chosen not to.
I appreciate crew working-hour and safety restrictions, but paying passengers shouldn't be made to feel grateful that BA completed the journey they had paid for.
We were due to arrive at 13:35 and landed around 16:00. No proper contingency catering, inadequate refreshments and no meaningful gesture from BA despite the considerably extended journey.
This isn't really about blaming the cabin crew. It's about British Airways and how prepared it is to look after its passengers when something unexpected happens.
After years of regularly choosing BA, my husband and I genuinely expected better.
The medical emergency was outside British Airways' control. How British Airways looked after its passengers afterwards was not.
I would very much like British Airways Customer Relations to respond.

FALSE Baggage allowance is a…
Always the same- baggage allowance is a lie- there is never ‘enough space’ in the overhead lockers, but once on the plane there is plenty of space. Specify please when you sell the ticket that there will be no space. Every time i take a flight the same thing happens. Not good enough.
Late every time!
Late every time. Vienna to London- afternoon flight is ALWAYS delayed and each time they insist checking in my cabin case. I have a driver waiting in Heathrow with the meter running, the arrival time is absolutely unpredictable, made worse by being forced to check in hand luggage. When I pointed out the delay was costing me money and made worse by the luggage situation, I was told in a very patronising manner that this was my problem and It is what I had agreed to when booking the ticket. What is going on with BA - surely they could do something about the plane being delayed every time in the afternoon, and there must be a reason for it? I do this routine every other week recently….might try a different airline as I am seriously fed up.
Ros, Phillipa and Sam are amazing cabin crew!! 👏🥰
We had the most amazing flight with BA, purely down to the amazing staff on the plane. We were looked after by Ros, Phillipa and Sam on our flight from Venice to London Heathrow on 24/09. They made us feel so comfortable - my partner is not great with flying and they genuinely made him laugh during the flight which is no small feat! We were given special attention as we had just got engaged - which made the flight feel extra special.
I do hope that Ros, Philipa and Sam get recognition for their amazing work on this flight :)
