You’ve done a great job today at check-in despite all the scaremongering and cancelled flights. Luckily, I booked with Brussels Airlines and my luggage check-in took only 5 minutes. Great job!

Four terrible flights with Brussels…and missing cases.

Four terrible flights with Brussels airline in 6 days. Major delays on the short haul connecting flights meaning a stupid dash to catch the connecting flight.
On my return to my home city my case has not arrived, 48 hours later absolutely no response even though reported.
The security we were forced to go through to catch our connecting flights out of Brussels airport gate changed from G9 to G36, people were physically flighting through security and a grown man was crying as he missed his onward flight to Chicago due to lack of urgency of staff at security for connecting flights.
What other airport forces you though security again to catch your connecting flight?
Hill retaking medal action to get compensation for my lost case that’s full of sentimental and valuable gifts bought on my trip.
Dobnot EVER fly Brussels airlines.
I am genuinely shocked.

AVOID at all cost!

Good afternoon,
I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding the unacceptable experience my family and I had with Brussels Airlines on our recent journey.
On 30/08/2025, we were scheduled to fly from Dubrovnik to London Heathrow via Brussels. Our initial flight was delayed, which meant we would inevitably miss our connection in Brussels. After hours of communication through your in-app chat, your colleague assured me that she would rebook us on an alternative flight to London Heathrow for 31/08/2025 via Rome.
When I requested accommodation for the overnight delay, this was refused, and I was told I would need to book it myself and claim reimbursement later.
The following day at the airport, we faced further issues during check-in and were directed to the help desk. After a lengthy wait, the customer service advisor informed us that our booking had not been completed properly. We were later told this was due to internal human error by Brussel airways. By the time the issue was resolved, the gate for the Rome flight had already closed.
Once again, I was assured our flights would be rebooked, but the next available option provided was 02/09/2025, from Dubrovnik to London Heathrow via Munich. Accommodation was again refused, despite the extended delay.
To make matters worse, I never received confirmation for the 02/09/2025 booking. After more than 30 minutes of waiting and repeated calls, I was told no booking existed, and during the conversation, one of your agents ended the call abruptly and rudely. Only after another long wait was I connected to a very helpful colleague, who finally ensured we were properly rebooked and confirmed.
It ultimately took three separate attempts for Brussels Airlines to successfully rebook our travel. We endured:
• Four additional days stranded in Dubrovnik with my wife and young daughter.
• Extremely high unexpected accommodation and living expenses.
• Loss of work days and income.
• Significant stress and disruption to our holiday.
This was the worst travel experience we have ever had, and I am extremely disappointed in the lack of professionalism, customer care, and accountability displayed throughout. Its been 2 weeks since I requested a refund for my accomodation and still had no reply. My reference is 2509-SN-00974 just in case somebody would like to contact me from brussel airways

I missed my connecting flight, no assistance was provided at Brussels Airport

I missed my connecting flight due to a delay on Brussels Airlines flight. Although the delay was known in advance, no assistance was provided at Brussels Airport – no rebooking, no hotel, no transport, nothing.

I had to arrange everything myself late at night, including hotel and taxis, and only received partial reimbursement. Staff at the airport the next morning were surprised that no one helped us the evening before.

Extremely poor customer care during disruption. I expected better from a full-service airline.

Can't stop meddling in seat assignments

Me and my friend travelled with Brussels to Slovenia (me from PRG, him from LHR), had our tickets booked 9 months in advance, seats reserved together and everything. 2 days before the journey, my friend's seats were changed for no reason, we only found out while boarding, so there wasn't anything we could do. Same thing on the way back. What is the point in reserving the seat if it will be changed anyway?

I had two tickets now with Brussels Airlines and they are absolutely the worst. I fly a lot. Several times per months sometimes. But decided that this clown company will not be used again. Their Indian "Help center" is a parody. Sometimes I believe it is a joke.

Paralyzingly rude and dumb service

I've had a number of abysmal experiences with this airline, which is most regrettably a monopoly on some
routes from Brussels: difficult to avoid. They will be rude to you, never alopologize for a usually delayed flight: the usual Lufthansa harrassement style. The dumbest, however, is that they do not allow you to board with duty frew purchases made at Brussels airport. I had two bottles of wine bought 10minutes before boarding and was told that "I should
fly a different airline if I intend to diarespect the rules: duty free is NOT allowed". So they checked in my trolley, offering as alternative to throw away the wine. Never fly with these guys if basic dignity is dear to you.

I would have given them a zero if I…

I would have given them a zero if I could.
Without a doubt the worst service I ever got in any airline, and it starts in the check-in process.
Baggage allowance for hand language is 8kg. My bag was 8.7kg. Was told I have to check it is and that the personal item (which is laptop bag) couldn't be above 2kg!!!! Only the laptop weighs more than that, add a liquid bag and there you go 5 kg it is.
They excused it by the flight being full. Guess what. At least 10 rows of empty seats, and no one set next to me.

When I complained the 2kg rule doesn't appear anywhere when you book the ticket or when you check-in and mentioned this is " the worst service I ever got in any other airline." The ground service lady started raising her voice at me and telling me I should be thankful that they don't charge money for checking my hand language.
I pointed out my ticket actually included a checked in language and they started telling me I am being rude. Just for correcting them, and stating my opinion on their service.
Never again Brussels airline.

Arriving in Brussels, guess what bags are "Delayed". No reason but been waiting for over 30min now.

Racism and discrimination.

Racism and discrimination.
I was allowed to bring inside the cabin 1 carry on baggage and 1 personal ítem, this is what i had at the gate, where I was queieing on the front to maaake sure my carry on baggage was not checked in. Out of the blue, they started to take carry on baggage for check in at the gate randomly, many passangers entered the plane with two pieces, it seems the only criteria was your origin and the colour of your skin. The staff refused to identify themselves to make a proper complain.

Joke airline, always delayed

Joke airline. Both (35min!!) flights London Heathrow to Brussels and back delayed by multiple hours..

Like how is this even possible?? Never experienced anything like that before, even as an extremely frequent flyer.

Last one left me arriving an hour from London at midnight with terrible connections to the centre due to the time..

Worse than budget airline service with much higher prices.. avoid if you value your time.

Never again

Flight got canceled. But what happened afterwards was worse:

- no prior notice, I only learned about it at the airport
- Brussels airlines staff confiscated my passport without allowing me to enter the airport
- forcibly got rebooked a flight 3 days (!!!) later without my consent or offering alternatives
- When I requested rebooking on earlier available flights, staff refused
- no online form to reclaim compensation
- 30 min in telephone loop, finally talking to somebody who was nor able to help me with anything
- online feedback form gives an error after trying to fill it out 3 times, it still gives an error

NEVER AGAIN Brussels airlines

Don't travel with Brussels Airlines

The experience of travelling with Brussels airlines has been the most disappointing I've ever had. The crew unpleasant, and the service provided mediocre. I was literally obliged to check in my carry-on backpack, under the menace of not being able to board the plane (!) By a crew disrespectful in their manner of speaking and bullying attitude towards the customers; as it didn't seem to be enough space for the carry-ons...
It looks like Brussels airlines promises carry on options to their customers that aren't real, as it never seems to be space enough for it when boarding.

Lost my luggage for a few days but found it and made uo for it by upgrading my seat from premium economy to business class. I will be joining their rewards program now. Very comfortable flight and easy process to follow.

Client service over the phone is a nightmare. It takes them ages to pick up the phone (on average over 20mins). When they pickup, it is definitely a call center somewhere in Asia, and very often they claim that the system is down and have no access to the bookings system (Dont get it ... why do they answer then???). Hopeless.

Attacked on airplane by israelis

When flying to Palestine i was attacked by Israeli settlers. The airline expressed big support for these people and removed all Palestinians from the airplane saying they should genocide all the palestinian people. Bad experience flying this airline

Please do yourself a big favour and avoid flying with them. Worst airline ever! My flight from LHR to Brussels airport was delayed by over one hour and to make things worse, the baggage was also delayed coming out. As a result I missed my connecting flight to Shanghai and had to pay over €800 for another flight. Tried to claim and they blankly refused any compensation. Surprised they are still allowed to operate without any accountability to their paying customers.

Incompetent, Irresponsible, and Completely Disrespectful of Customers

I flew with Brussels Airlines from Geneva to Tenerife on June 14, 2025. Not only was I forced by staff to place my cabin luggage in the hold, but they inexplicably tagged it under a different passenger heading to Yerevan. Naturally, the bag was lost upon arrival.

Since then, I’ve followed up multiple times. The result? Deafening silence, vague responses, and just last week a patronizing offer of reduced compensation because I couldn’t provide receipts for every single item in my luggage.

Let’s be clear: Brussels Airlines lost my cabin bag due to pure incompetence, and instead of taking responsibility, they’ve responded with delays, indifference, and the ultimate insult questioning the value of my personal belongings as if this mess was somehow my fault.

Was I supposed to keep receipts for every sock and charger “just in case” an airline behaved with this level of negligence?

The burden of proof and effort is now fully on me, the victim of their mishandling. It’s absolutely disgraceful. This is not customer service this is a masterclass in how to alienate and mistreat your passengers.

Brussels Airlines has shown zero accountability, zero urgency, and zero respect. I wouldn’t trust them with a backpack again, let alone a paid booking. Avoid at all costs.
