Too Over crowded to enjoy

Hot summer day, let's crowd as many people into the park as possible. The artists were awesome Pink and Gwen Stefani. Anyone under 6 foot tall would be lucky to see the Artists, if your going to cram that many people in at least raise the stage. Queues for water taking over an hour. Strange rule about cans must be opened at purchase, makes the crowd dodging back entertaining. Felt sorry for those further back than us as without binoculars you'd be lucky to see anything. Feel greed has ruined what could be a awesome place. How pink sings whilst flying spinning through the air is beyond me. See her in a better venue to get the best experience.

Two sets of toilets were closed

We went to see Punk who was amazing. The issues we had were 1) I’m between Green Dtefani and Pimk coming on, we wired for twenty minutes (the toilets were no where on sight, that’s how long the queue was) to be told they were closed we went to the only other toilets and the queue didn’t move for twenty minutes…. We joined a brigade of ladies who found a large sheet of plastic to crouch behind to wee in the urinals….. not acceptable. No Marshall’s vissabke2) getting out of the venue was a crush… no Marshall’s visa or. 3) we bought from the bar and were told cans had to be cracked open for some reason which meant transporting four to my friends was very tricky in true crowd. Sounds like a ludicrous rule. I’ve been to many BST concerts and this one was not organised well at all. Sadly they let Piml down. Have reported to BST on the evening so I hope Sunday night was not bad for everyone ride

Diamond view area was oversold

Diamond view area was oversold and gold view ticket holders were let into the diamond view area - wrist bands were not being checked properly. Waited an hour in line to get a drink at the bar in the summer garden. No where to sit in the summer garden. Sub standard customer experience. In the diamond view area there was exactly the same pushing and shoving as there was in the main area and the gold area. Once we had gone into the viewing area we then couldn’t leave to go to the toilet or go to get drinks because we wouldn’t have been able to get back into the viewing area - it was that busy. Disappointed - this was our 4th year and I don’t think we will be returning. Customer experience awful due to over selling tickets.

Needs more toilet facilities ,winding…

Needs more toilet facilities ,winding queues up to an hour grr ,
Food stalls minimal , water stations useless unless you have a bottle and cans were £1 . And join another snaking queue way too many people in for it to be comfortable, but company will keep pumping more people in for maximum prophet ! £100 FOR TICKET AND I ENDED UP WATCHING A SCREEN ,WHICH I COULD OF WATCHED AT HOME .
Ps Keith who reviewed further down with a 5 star. Very illusionary with 66,000 people in a 1/2mile radius .

Pink amazing. BST shocking

Pink was amazing as always. BST shocking!!! 29degrees heat and few water stations, certainly not enough for the amount of people they packed into the event. Que for water was huge, took over an hour to refill water bottle. Qued at the bar to buy water and they opened the cans so you couldn't buy a few to keep hydrated, shocking on such a hot day!!!! Barely a piece of grass to sit on. And the toilets were overflowing, with a fair few locked as they couldn't empty them. I've been to a fair few festivals, BST by far the worst. All about money, no regard for peoples well being. Worst well fair than a dance festival, and thats saying something. Never, never again!!!

Repeated emails to Customer Services IGNORED since June.

I've been emailing BST Hyde Park for months on end, with a reminder EVERY month and still had no reply. This relates to oversold GOLD AREA tickets, misinformation at the venue, and the impossibility of access to the area for which I bought tickets.

Every month I get this:

"Thank you for contacting AXS regarding your Hyde Park Event.

Your request (#5426477) has been received by our Customer Services team.

We aim to reply to all our emails within 72 hours, but this can take longer during busy periods."

I want an answer to my emails. I am at a loss what to do. Maybe involve BBC You & Yours next.

The lesson I have learned is NOT to buy tickets for this event again. I would not recommend them. Once they've had your money, they don't care about you at all.

VIP seating - what seating???!!!

The music was great BUT the VIP package and entry to Summer Garden greatly lacking. We went to 2 events this summer and both times there were almost double the amount of people for the ‘seating’ provided. Suited and booted guests were having to sit on the ground near bins, toilets, walk through - literally anywhere they could find a space. In the shade was impossible. They say doors open early but are you all seriously going to be there for 7hrs prior buying your drinks and food there just in the hope of getting a seat….
For the money - you need to provide an appropriate level of comfort!!!!

Great organisation of BST Hyde Park 2022

First time at a BST festival & have to say, this was one of the best events I’ve been too. Putting our preferred act we came to see aside. The organisation of whole event was spot on. Hardly any queuing & for 65’000 crowd, great work. Stewards & security were friendly & approachable. Plenty of drink & food locations, along with free water points which were stocked. Adequate amount of toilet facilities to cater for capacity, of good standard & clean. Will definitely be looking out for next years event & recommend. Thank you & well done BST Management.

G4S Security Staff - atrocious

Duran Duran absolutely amazing along with Nile Rogers and Chic.
However G4S staff clearly think they are very important and some were rude and arrogant.
G4S security spat about a metre away from us - his number 3935. As we are still in the midst of a covid pandemic, spitting near my friend and I is absolutely disgusting.
Another of the security staff told us to go home when the event wasn't even finished!!!
Learn some manners and basic hygiene people. You didn't spoil the event for us but your attitudes leave a lot to be desired.

Overall, great day!

We had a really great day at Hyde Park to see Duran Duran on 10th July!
We bought primary entry tickets - there was no queue when we got there at 1.20pm, so went straight through. Although it was difficult to find the right gate as there was no signage.
I never had to queue for the toilets, which were very clean. Although in comparison the urinals were smelly.
Bar prices were relatively fair - £11ish for 2 pints. However food was expensive - e.g. £4.50 for a Mr whippy ice cream!! There was a good choice of food available in general.
There were loads of water stations. Some had huge queues but the refillable stations in the toilets never had a queue. Bonus getting a free water bottle from American Express.
Duran Duran were on soooo late and we were knackered by the end. Wish they had been on sooner.
It was irritating that there were so many people with picnic blankets in front of the mains stage, despite the signage to say 'no blankets beyond this point' which was not enforced.
There was very limited shade on one of the hottest days of the year.

Having waited for almost two years due…

Having waited for almost two years due to Covid I was really looking forward to be able to see Chic and Duran Duran plus the supporting acts.
As an armature photographer I took my camera and a basic lens which was a sigma 0-300mm as the website stated no professional camera or recording equipment permitted.
I arrived at the entrance having followed the sound of the music as there were no visible signage and immediately two very "excited" unprofessional security guards said "You cant take that in" I questioned why and they then called over the supervisor who removed my camera from the tray and said" You can collect t at the end of the night" and proceeded to walk off with my camera, saying "we are not liable if its damaged or stolen".
I asked for a receipt that wasn't something they would offer.
I then asked to speak to his Manager he said he was the supervisor and the manager would say the same but he would speak to her. He then came out and said she said the same and that's the situation and that she was busy.
I said I would wait she eventually came out and said it was due to the size of the lens. I showed her the website where it did not state the size of a permittable lens. She said it was displayed on the entrance, I said I know that but I'm already here having looked at the website and believed my camera not to be off a professional level and asked her what made her a professional camera expert. She said she wasn't but they had been briefed, I said that was all very well but the website didn't brief customers.
She then spoke to a customer support assistant who made some calls.
I was then offered my camera base and they would keep the lens but as I dint have a cover for the lens or the base I said that wasn't an option.
I then rang American Express as I'm a card holder and the guy I spoke to was very helpful and acted as a mediator but all it resulted in was getting a senior customer service agent coming down.
After two hours I was escorted to the welfare area, I wasn't able to carry my camera and felt like I was being taken to the headmasters office. I was expected to hand over my camera to an area with no lockable units but one that was manned all the time, I said it was all very well being manned but it would be very easy for someone to come in and distract the staff and steal my camera. I wasn't going to be given any receipt and all because a security guard deemed my camera as a professional and because American Express website is so ambiguous.
I then had a brain wave and said "How about I give you the battery as it can't function without power this was agreed"
So I left the battery behind without getting a receipt and was told to collect it at the end of the night.
This all took over two hours and meant I missed the first two supporting acts.
It was clearly a case of "If your face fits" you can take it in.
I saw Umbrella's, fold out seats, people who had clearly taken illegal substances and the smell of Cannabis filled the air and yet these are all prohibited.
The icing on the cake was when I returned to collect my battery it took almost an hour to find my battery and when I went into the welfare tent to see why it was taking so long I was told to remove myself from the area as there was lots of expensive things there, I am not a thief and I replied "I know one of those expensive things is mine"
The two guys in the welfare area couldn't understand why my camera had been deemed professional and why I had been put in this situation which just shows how the website conditions fail the customer.
Thank you American Express and BST for such a disgusting experience.
Sort out your website state and what is deemed as professional camera equipment, train your security staff to be polite and helpful and not treat the customers like naughty school children.
The amazing thing is that my iPhone takes higher quality photographs but these weren't confiscated from anyone.
Truly disgusting treatment.

BST AWFUL, Duran Duran great

Duran Duran excellent. BST AWFUL.
Staff rude and didn’t have a clue what was going on in the festival. Complete lack of information in advance of receipt tickets (which came a day before the event via some critic email) I paid £400 for tickets but stayed in the general admission area as there was no areas of shade in what can only be described as the hottest day of the year. Bar selection was poor. Again staff very rude. We experienced an issue with a staff member and had to report to security. Bar member started kicking empty can under the divide, fence where we were sat, got old drink on my clothes. We thought it was an accident at first but the girl mocked us and started to push her bag against the area and kicked cans back. We reported to customer service who asked us to come with them to see the security manager (why could they come to us!!) Walked to the other end of the festival to see security. Manager was really nice but wanted us to come with her to confront the girl which we felt uncomfortable doing. Put a real downer on the afternoon. No seating around food areas. Clothes absolutely filthy from having to sit on the floor anywhere I could!!!!! This is not my first rodeo with a music festival but certainly will be my last with BST.

Horrible Sound Experience

I've attended Pearl Jam yesterday 8th of July 2022. I was with my brother and a friend of mine. General admission ticket. I'm writing this with a broken heart. In years and years of live concerts I can say that I've never experienced an horrible sound like yesterday. It's been awful. Since the first song to the last one.
Totally unbalanced sound. Bass not recognisable at all, probably not existing, drum pretty muffled, lead guitar super high volume. The sound was not enjoyable at all; disturbing sound. Not engaging with people. Crowd voice was much higher than the band. When Eddie was talking to the crowd was not understandable at all. So difficult to hear. I was looking at people face and i could notice disappointment, incredulity and scepticism. I'm not a sound engineer but definitely something didn't go right with it. The sound was coming like in waves. Times where you could listen a bit better and suddenly the sound goes away. It was like listening a band playing at school. I can't really believe that no one from the sound engineering didn't realise anything. In my opinion in 2022 this is totally unacceptable. I've basically took my money and burnt them. This is playing with people emotions. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME. I just want to precise that Pearl jam is Pearl Jam, Eddie was great, they were in a good shape and definitely they've seemed to enjoy on the stage. I've just would have loved to enjoy too...
I'm really, really disappointed with the sound experience.
Can anyone tell me if they've experienced the same? Thank you BST!

Disproportionate viewing advantage for upgraded tickets

Saw Pearl Jam and Pixies yesterday, it was amazing but would have been better if BST properly explained the different tickets on the website before purchasing. The space that the VIP tickets/gold circle/diamond tickets took up was really disproportionate.
The people with general admission tickets (which was 90%of the crowd) were pushed so far back from the stage. Totally unnecessary when there was so much unused space at the front! Sort it out BST, it's wildly unfair to have that much inequity between general admission and upgraded folks.

Extremely rude staff at the cinema entrance

Extremely rude security staff at the entrance of the free outdoor cinema on Tuesday 05/07/2022. The were very unhelpful, rude and with an attitude. When I asked to talk to the manager one of the staff lied to me saying he is away. The lady was rude and patronizing. The festival is free but you are treated awfully.
