damaged goods

Found tins of Barrettine stain £10 cheaper per tin. Both tins arrived completely bent and dented but in pristine packaging. Therefore, they deliberately sent them to me in that state. It didn’t really matter as it’s just stain and they weren’t leaking but makes me think they send damaged goods and don’t give a toss.

NEFF microwave : NO refund given and still waiting for NEFF and builder depot to pick up oven after 6 weeks!

i ordered a NEFF microwave which was £799. I ordered the wrong size, ( my mistake), and asked if i could return it for the correct size. 6 weeks later i am yet to have a confirmation that my item will be picked up and refunded by NEFF I spoke to them several times and they refuse to pick it up as they are waiting for an " internal department to respond". Please do not order from NEFF or builder depot as neither have permitted me to return the item within 7 days of purchase. The item is unused, resaleable and within my consumer rights to return.i never leave reviews bad or good, i don't have time. i am a busy NHS GP. However i cannot afford this amount of money to be " lost" and felt compelled to write this review. I am waiting so long just so i can finish my kitchen. This is an appalling way to treat a customer, and dreadful service. By the way, the cost to have it picked up is £97, daylight robbery and they wont let me drop it off anywhere either. So i am stuck with these jokers. Order at your peril.if anything goes wrong you have no way to sort it out as they will abandon you. NEFF and builder depot, you should be ashamed. The way you treat customers, by not accepting unopened goods is appalling.

DO NOT order anything from this website…

DO NOT order anything from this website as you will never get the item or get any sort of communication regarding your order. If you send an email to customer service, you will NEVER get a response. If you call the customer service number you will be routed to a HOWARD, once again you will NEVER get a response. Stay away !!!

i placed an order at builderdepot and have not recieved my order

i placed an order at builderdepot on October 14th,2024. Never recieved an email with tracking info or even am email stating my order has been placed. I even checked my spam folder.
It is now November 4,2024. Still no communication. I have sent 3 emails concerning my order (order#467628) and have had ZERO response. I have even left numerouse voicemails on "Howards" voice mail box, and still no communication from them. The website says a reply in 48hrs... but that is not true at all. I have left a voice mail in almost every department they have listed on thier menu on the call and still no communication from them. I have even voice recorded my voice messages i have left them for my record. All I want is my product i ordered... not to much to ask.

Charged but Never Delivered – Poor Communication and Service

My experience with BuilderDepot.com has been terrible. I placed an order on their website on July 15, received an order confirmation via email, and my card was charged for the full amount two days later. However, the order was never delivered, and I received no communication regarding shipping or any updates. Despite multiple attempts to reach out via email and voicemail, I was met with complete silence. I’m extremely disappointed with the lack of customer service and transparency. I would not recommend doing business with this company and urge others to exercise caution.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. They did not know how the product was packaged according to quantity of pieces. They were checking with the warehouse for shipping date. No response from them. Had to cancel the order.

Part of Item Missing

Nope. Do not do business with this company. My husband ordered a part for his truck but when it arrived the bottom part of it was missing. They purposely advertised it as ONE piece instead of TWO. And when he tried to return it, because of their mistake, they wouldn't provide free shipping. It would have cost $274 to return it, which isn't cost effective because he payed $400 for it. He's been looking elsewhere for the other part but it's hard to find as a single part because it's meant to be sold as a unit. They knew that. My guess is they had the initial part lying around and decided to advertise it as one piece and get rid of it. It's very heavy so they knew that the customer would lose $$ trying to return it, and wouldn't. So now it's going into our storage unit until he can locate that other part.

If you order anything from this company don't be surprised at what actually get when it arrives 😠🤬

This is an amended reply on 3-14-21, in regards to what I stated above after seeing your comment. First, your pic of the product showed it as one full piece. There was nothing that said it was sold in two parts. That should have been made clear. And you know that as heavy as that part is, no one will ship it for only $12. We were quoted a price of $274. And yes, it's hard to find because we were told that particular part has been discontinued after inquiries during the past few days. But your company advertised them as one part. There should have been nothing for us to "realize". It's ok though. We'll figure something out. Thank you.

The item in question is an ALL SET TIRE MOUNT and its sold in 2 parts. The part numbers are UHG1060-1 and UHG1060-2. This is how the manufacturer sells it, we did not break up two parts and sell them separately. Manufacturers do this when you can use one of the parts with multiple other parts. You can google both part numbers and find plenty of other sellers also selling these parts, although most do seem to be out of stock. No one is selling them together because that is not how they are sold. The item does not cost $274 to ship. The customer was charged $12.50 in shipping and our actual shipping cost was $23.36 (Fedex Ground). The customer has the return instructions and can return it up to 30 days from April 6th 2021. The correct item was sent to this customer they unfortunately didn't realize it is ordered as two parts. We provide free return shipping when we ship the wrong item (which is very rare) and that is not what happened here. We would be happy to provide a return label and deduct it from the refund amount if that helps.

Stephen,

Please contact our customer service department at customerservice@builderdepot.com. You don't give an order # and I could not find any under your first name for this item. If the item is broken then there is no cost to return it at all. We generally do not sell refurbished items either but it would be noted as such if it was. So I am not sure where you are getting this information but its not correct. We would be happy to get this taken care of for you.

BEWARE!!! Price Gouging for Poor Quality!

I purchased a shed online through Sears.com, which is builder depot's 3rd party site. They misrepresented the quality of the shed I purchased. They now call it buyers remorse and refuse to provide a RMA to return both boxes. they are rude, and charge 1800 for a shed that is very poor quality and worse than buying a metal shed from home depot for under $400 that would perform better than this paper-thin plastic. they are price gouging, and are being reported to BBB and attorney general for price gouging and false advertising.

There was and is no misrepresentation of the shed in any way. The product description and picture are directly from the product manufacturer. We are not the manufacturer of the product and do not control its quality or how its made. There is nothing wrong with the quality of this product. We provided an RMA # and return instructions 9 days ago to the customer on the same day they requested it. They have not returned the item and only contacted us again today. We explained this is a buyers remorse return (he doesn't like the quality of the item, there is nothing wrong with it, that is buyers remorse and a risk you take purchasing online if you don't like it). We have sold lots of the particular item with no previous complaints about it and its from a well known manufacturer. In fact the product description says this "At first you may wonder about the flexibility and thinness of the polycarbonate panels, but rest assured that once assembled, the shed will be rigid and durable"

Its still in the customers court to return the item for a refund as it has been for the past 9 days. We have not been rude in any way shape or form. We have patiently explained to the customer most of what is in this response. Frankly we are unsure what the issue still is, he wants to return it, we provided the return information the same day he requested it. Until the item is returned there is nothing more for us to do.

As for the price, it was sold at the MSRP price. If the customer didn't like the price then we are unsure why they purchased it. Manufacturers have what is called MAP pricing in which sellers are not allowed to sell below a certain price and a lot of times that is the MSRP. We did not and do not price gouge. All our prices are competitive in the marketplace and are simply based on our wholesale cost (or MAP price if applicable) at that time. Costs and prices change daily based on various factors (tariffs, raw material prices and availability, shipping costs etc...)

The customer was refunded a week ago. For a Sears order, we refund it on the Sears system, we have no control after that of how long it takes Sears to send the money back to the customer. Our experience though is its done within 24 hours. The customer should contact Sears regarding this if they do not have the refund as we definitely issued it 7 days ago.

Just as a point of process, Fedex damaged the shipment and it takes them anywhere from 14 to 21 days to investigate it and issue us the refund.

I cancelled and order after hours that…

It is very important to read reviews prior to purchasing from a company. I highly recommend to NOT order from these ripoffs. Their shipping rates are also ridiculous! I cancelled an order after hours that was placed online. I was told that it cannot be cancelled due to the shipping right away. Not good practice. I will decline the package when it comes. The delivery date posted is May 30 - June 2, 3020 but yet my order cannot be cancelled on May 13th or 14th... And, they aren't accredited with BBB. Ridiculous!

The customer placed an order for some garden shoes late in the day on May 13th. When you place an order you are agreeing to pay and receive said goods. The order was placed on Walmart at around 5:30 ET. Orders are processed automatically and sent to the appropriate warehouse. A request to cancel the order was made sometime after 6pm ET which is after hours. This request (and its only a request) was looked at the next morning at around 9:30am. Cancelling an order is a manual process and depending on the warehouse can not always be done. This warehouse starts at 3am and once an order is in process at the warehouse it can not be stopped. Warehouses are designed to ship orders quickly and efficiently which is what was done. No one is going to pull an order out of the queue, that is just not doable at a large warehouse. So by the time we received the cancel request the item was already on a truck. The order will be delivered tomorrow (May 15th) so no idea why the customer thinks it will be May 30th. They can refuse the shipment but will be responsible for any shipping costs both ways. While we do try our best to honor cancel requests we also have to ensure orders ship quickly and any cancel request done after 5pm is unlikely to succeed. This isn't unique to our business, this is the same situation at most large online retailers.

No name or order # was given so not sure if this is for BuilderDepot UK or Builderdepot in CA, USA.

Either way I would like to elaborate on how this can happen because it does with all online retailers. Some items are special order and have longer lead times for shipping. So those items have to be deemed "in stock" to show as available for sale. Some items have restock ETAs and once they are close to that date, the items are shown as back in stock (we don't do this but other retailers might). Then something happens with the shipment (ie: it falls off a ship in the ocean or some other delay happens on its arrival). Now the order ends up being late. We also drop ship items directly from the mfrs as well and while they provide us stock levels they are not always accurate and up to date so it was in stock and then when the order happens its out of stock. We try our best to get more stock or get the order filled but its not always doable. Unfortunately its not a perfect world and while we do our best and we believe our partners do, things sometimes are just out of our control.

This is a horrible business

This is a horrible business. I have documented evidence, including pictures, to prove product damage on delivery. We did not just receive one damaged washer, we received two. The second washer, which we were not expecting because we were told by the company we would get a refund and would need to reorder, was the wrong washer.

After approximately seven phone calls to Builder Depot, and no refund, we contacted Walmart where we ordered the unit. Walmart was exceptional. They refunded my money almost instantly. I explained my experience with Builder Depot, and warned them about future dealings.

The shipping of both items was horrible. In fact, the second washer was not even strapped to the skid. It had fallen over in transport, and the driver stated, "I have never seen an item so poorly shipped."

There is NO spin this company can provide to make their customer service, packing, refunds and delivery acceptable. Read these reviews...Beware!

I have my money thanks to Walmart. Very happy with Walmart since they stand for their customer.

Avoid at all costs!!

Avoid at all costs!!! Do not be fooled by their low prices!

Two doors out of six ordered came damaged. The delivery man told me that he will get it all sorted. On a specific request to leave a delivery note confirming the damage he told that BD does delivery notes in electronic format only and asked to sign on a handheld device. As it sounded a bit suspicious, so we've made some pictures and send an e-mail with the full description to BD to reinforce the message on the same day.

After five days of waiting I called BD to chase up the progress. It took a while to find my e-mail as it was just ignored. A couple of days later I received an e-mail from BD saying that the delivery note was NOT signed as damaged(!!!) with an offer of 20% discount instead of replacement.

Having read BD reviews (most of them suggesting to avoid BD at all costs), I agreed to 20% discount to avoid further hassle of dealing with BD. It took two weeks and a countless number of phone calls to get the refund they promised. Moreover, I was refunded about 15% initially and only after several phone calls and e-mails they finally paid the whole 20% refund for the doors damaged.

In summary: appalling customer service! Do not have any business with BD!!!

They Exist to Rip You Off!

Ordered parts that were inaccurately described. Returned the parts I originally bought for over $27. BuilderDepot refunded $11. They said the reason for return was "buyer's remorse" - when in reality it was the wrong part, regardless of whose fault why would a retailer keep 60% of the purchase price because they deem it to be "remorse" that their own site did not describe the part correctly. The CEO actually wrote to me repeating lies and shirking responsibility as a retailer. This site is run by a little kid who is mostly involved in e-commerce "solutions" for on line retailers. A kid who doesn't know what the hell he is doing in retail. If you like to deal with Gen-Xers who think they're entitled to 60% of your money even if they've given you nothing - then Builder Depot is for you!!!!

PS This review is NOT for Builders Depot in the UK - this is for the Builder Depot site run out of CA. Make no mistake about it - BuilderDepot.com from USA is a rip off site.

failed on 6 attempts to deliver the correct order

Having ordered just 6 sheets of MDF and a couple of associated bits and bobs, I thought things ought to be simple, but they took 7 attempts to send the correct items. They got there eventually, but it was an awful lot of chasing at my end.

Defect doors and zero customer service

Superb quality on-line for Deanta doors at first appearance but unfortunately many defects, some discovered before unwrapping and others discovered once plastic packaging removed. Zero customer service or support outside of a secret 48 hour window following delivery. Left with four faulty doors out of ten having spent over £1,800. Doors all packaged in plastic with no real protection to prevent damage to doors during delivery. Still trying to sort out matter with Builder Depot as well as having contacted Deanta direct on several occasions with no interest from their end alongside Builder Depot who ordered the delivery direct from Deanta. The good doors look great but experience completely soured by clear customer blame and lack of any customer service with no come back to the companies. Having to progress this to the Consumer Ombudsman now.
