CPA's

Decided to read trustpilot reviews before purchasing.
I have not purchased ever from Bullguard.com so I'm not commenting on their products.
Without doubt my biggest concern is "Continuous Payment Authority"
It's about time it was scrapped as it is open to abuse and fraud.
I would not go near any company that had poor feedback for CPA's.

DO NOT BUY VPN

I have found their anitvirus exceptional so I took out VPN. It just turns off my wifi the second I connect it. Customer services have been dealing with it for over a month with no success. True I can't be hacked but that is because I can't use the internet, it makes the system foolproof but pointless

I would advise extreme caution!

I would advise extreme caution before signing up to any Bullguard product based on my father’s experience; he’s in his 80’s, uses IT as best he can (like many during COVID) but doesn’t understand it. The issue I describe below has caused him considerable anxiety.

He has been a loyal customer for over 10 years using Bullguard’s antivirus software arranged for him at the time by a friend who helped with his IT; his friend is no longer able to help with this.

In Feb this year my father got a Bullguard email which he thought was a renewal request for his antivirus. He promptly paid approx £100 for the renewal and thought nothing more of it. In October this year, Bullguard took another approx £100 which he assumed was an error so he contacted Bullguard. He struggled to get an explanation he could understand or any resolution from Bullguard so he mentioned it to me.

What soon became clear was my father had mistakenly signed up for Bullguard’s VPN service in Feb. My father has no need of a VPN. He has never used a VPN. He does not know what a VPN is.

I raised this on behalf of my father as soon as we were aware of the issue in October. Our assumption was Bullguard would understand the issue and would be keen put it right for a loyal customer, let alone an elderly, vulnerable customer. How wrong we were.

Bullguard were having none of it. They can clearly see this was an error as he has never used the VPN he bought in error but will not do the right thing and refund him. Having researched this a little online, it is clear that my father’s case is not an isolated one. Yet Bullguard deny all responsibility. They may believe their marketing comms are clear but the number of people with similar issues would appear to indicate otherwise. That is certainly my fathers experience, an experience that has caused him considerable upset and anxiety and has dented his confidence; not what I expect from a company that is meant to be there to safeguard it’s customers.

I would advise people to think very carefully before signing up to Bullguard based on my father’s experience.

I have been trying to cancel my…

I have been trying to cancel my membership no longer having access to the pc.
Bullguard have made their customer service and “chat” impossible. Now ANOTHER payment has. Been taken from my account.
I am very dissatisfied with their “service”.

I have been trying to get reimbursed…

I have been trying to get reimbursed for purchasing the VPN Software instead of the regular Antivirus...Since June 23, 2021. I have been getting the runaround since that date. Numerous interactions with the chat line, an email to the complaint department...no response.
I have been a customer for at least 6 years, the Antivirus works well. This reimbursement should
have been a straight forward transaction.

Games with trainers

I'm a gamer that likes to play story-based games and does not have a lot of time. So to fix that I use trainers. BullGuard quarantines trainers after being in use for 30 minutes, this make the games crash and causes disruptions. On top of that, there is no easy way to sent a file back to the original location without being sent back into quarantine immediately after. I will not be extending my subscription for the next period.

I feel that they take advantage

I view the actions of BullGaurd as fraud and a failure to comply with GDPR Legislation.

Somehow BullGaurd switched back on the auto renew and charged our Bank account without permission. And, to my mind that is fraud.

They then claim to have made a full refund and I will check next week to make sure that it has been paid. I was surprised how quickly and easily they claimed to do so and I assume this type of online activity is more common than we think. Hopefully they will at least honour this.

I them ask them to remove our private bank details and they refuse to do so point blank. They stated that once the auto renew is disabled it will no charge again and that they can not remove the bank details. This means that their system can change the settings and renew subscription without our permission.

The operator was a smart mouthed (or smart keyboard) operator. Because they did not like my insistence that are breaking UK law by refusing to remove our bank details I was being rude. I was not rude but, I did feel very cross so, I made sure that I was polite and not rude.

I will now report them and hopefully this will raise regulators and banks awareness to support others when BullGaurd operate in other unethical ways. I will also make sure I review their business on other review sites to spread the word. And, rest assured I will tell others not to use them.

I am sure I will have a smart mouth (Smart Keyboard answer.

I've used Bullguard Premium Protection…

I've used Bullguard Premium Protection for at least 3yrs. Each year BPP sends notification to renew. Without noticing, this year BPP renewal button led to "Internet Security Plan" which is like having no protection. Why have an ISP option button on a BPP? I am a BPP repeat regular customer and why confuse a simple renewal with a renewal button that leads to another plan? Are IT pros that far removed they do not see a format/design conflict?

Patience of saints

I have no idea how these guys have the patience they have to help. I've just spent over an hour on the 'chat' faciity with an issue and whilst I'm ready to throw the laptop out of the window, they're still there with the patience of a saint. My sincere thanks to Lorisa and Lorena

Best Support Experience ever !!!

I had two subscriptions in my account one experid and a new subscription. I could not get the new sunscription activated. Using the chat it was fixed under 5 minutes time.

I am very disappointed with the…

I am very disappointed with the customer service I paid for the set up process. I waited 3 hrs for help and never got it after a reply saying I’ll be with you in few minutes. I finally gave up and backed out of the chat and tried to re enter and it said we are off line. And I’ve sent an email for a refund but no reply back

BullGuard Support Chat Needs Improving

7th May 2021 I contacted BullGuard support on chat I needed help BullGuard was conflicting and blocking important updates on HP Support Assistant on my Windows 10 HP Desktop PC plus BullGuard was not working properly concerning updates, optimisation, cleanup helper including vulnerabilities none of these were working as they should.

The agent I connected with said he needed to have a remote session which I agreed to, he connected to my PC and without any explanation proceeded to delete my Malwarebytes, Trustee Rapport and was then trying to disable my BT then went on programs trying to uninstall BullGuard without success the next thing was I had a black screen which said PC was in safe mode and no internet connection so the agent had lost connection.

I had no alternative but to get my Laptop and reconnect to BullGuard chat hoping that I would be connected to someone else but no I got the same person, I told him he had disabled my provider BT that’s why he had lost connection, no apology he just proceeded to give me instructions and before he had finished giving me all of the instructions told me his shift had finished and another agent would take over.

I explained to her that he had disabled my BT so I had no internet connection and was communicating with her from my Laptop she gave me instructions on how take PC out of Safe Mode I managed to get internet back working but still the problems had not been fully resolved she proceeded to tell me all other issues I had with BullGuard that I would have to contact BullGuard Support tomorrow to sort these out out.

So 5 hours later on BullGuard chat I had no resolution to the issues and would have to contact BullGuard Chat yet again.

I have been a long time customer of BullGuard and always rated them highly it was not a service I expected to receive, in other words it was abysmal.

In the past I would have rated them 5 ***** not anymore there service has really gone down in my estimation even giving them 1 * star they are certainly not worthy of.

However I would like to add about 4 or 5 weeks previous to this I had the same issue on my Laptop where BullGuard was conflicting with my HP Support assistant and on this occasion when I contacted BullGuard chat I was connected to a very helpful polite lady named Andreea-Luciana Ostache, this time my experience with her on chat was excellent she new exactly what to do and resolved the issue and everything has been running perfectly.
I would like to say a big thank you Andreea-Luciana Ostache for all her help.
So to sum up it really does depend who you connect with on BullGuard Chat to sort your issues out.

Unexpected subs taken from account

Just received my credit card statements to see they have taken 49.99 I wasn't expecting. They have done this to my son too. I've gone online to live chat and it won't accept my email address as it says it isn't valid.

Forgot about their loyal customer, YET AGAIN!!!

with being a loyal Bullguard customer for many years, yet again a loyal customer has been ripped off on their renewal for £24.99 for a 12 month protection where as a new customer can get a discount bringing the total amount of £19.99, at what point do you want to keep your loyal customers!?

At BullGuard, we sell our products directly to customers through our online shop. We also partner up with online and offline (retail) shops, who receive BullGuard products to sell on to their customers.

We have a recommended price which reflects the value of the product, and this is the price we sell it for through our web shop.

Our Marketing team has implemented a loyalty program that runs automatically, to ensure that loyal customers receive a discount for their renewal purchase. Occasionally, we also have campaigns that are designed to attract new customers which, sometimes, include better discounts (Black Friday is a good example). Our partners may also sell BullGuard with offers of their own, or in bundles with other products.

If we were to set the system to match the lowest price at any given time we would have to change the pricing continuously, probably leaving some customers feeling cheated because the price they bought at yesterday had suddenly been lowered. In addition, it would complicate matters for our partners. We would also not be able to cover our production costs and would end up going out of business.
