Extremely unsafe company!!! Avoid them entirely!

Worst service and complete disregard for safety!!! Run from M2 as fast as you can!!!

I originally gave M2 5 stars, but I’m changing it to 1. At first they seemed professional, but once we had to raise concerns, everything fell apart. We hired Bureau M2 to help with a permit application to open a load-bearing wall in our home, including the required engineering calculations.

It turns out their subcontracted engineer didn’t even review the photos or the architect’s annotated (red/yellow) drawings we provided. As a result, the calculations were seriously wrong - to the point that a bathroom steel beam is now missing a required supporting pillar, putting our home, and our small child, at risk. And this is just one of several major mistakes.

Their engineer was shockingly unprofessional. He even yelled on site: “if you want me to help pay for any of the costs to fix this, I’m out of here.” - taking zero accountability.

M2 initially tried to also charge us an extra €450 for the engineer’s visit to review his mistakes - a charge we had to contest over several emails before it was dismissed. M2 also lied, claiming they weren’t responsible at all for the engineer’s mistakes (we had never even known who the engineer was until he had to come to our house to review his mistakes) - despite Dutch law holding them fully liable for any subcontractors.

Even more concerning, M2 wrote that they regretted forwarding our request to the engineer because reading/replying to the emails was “taking too much of their time”. This, while we were dealing with potential structural safety issues in our home, where our family - including a 3 year old child - lives!!

They never refunded the money we paid for the initial dangerous calculations, nor for the follow-up report reviewing the consequences of those errors. The permit they obtained for us is now based on these incorrect calculations, and no corrected calculations have been provided - they never got their engineer to send corrected calculations, nor got another engineer to do them instead. This has been stressful, unsafe, and completely unacceptable.

Avoid M2 at all costs!!! Our experience has shown they put profits over people’s safety, and prioritize their convenience over accountability. We are left dealing with the consequences (finding a new engineer to do correct calculations + covering all the costs it's gonna take to fix what M2 caused).

FYI, the engineer they subcontracted was Mark van der Meijden from Meijden Structural Engineering B.V. I highly advise to never work with any of them.
