Never turned up for any appointments

I called Bury Roofing on 14th November 2025 because I had water coming through my dining room ceiling during the storm on the 13th. I was given an appointment of 19th November between 9 and 12.30. A man turned up at 2.30 on the 19th, without a ladder, so could not get on to my roof to diagnose the problem. He promised that someone would come on the 20th or 21st November to check the roof and give me a quote. Nobody came. I phoned the company on the 21st and was assured that someone would come on either the 24th, 25th or 26th of November. Again, nobody came. I phoned again on the 26th November and the person I spoke to explained that they would not be able to carry out any repair works until the new year, but promised that someone would definitely come before Christmas, to check my roof and give me a quote. Nobody had arrived by Friday 19th December so I texted their mobile number and promptly received a reply telling me that someone from the office would phone me to arrange a date for them to come. No one has phoned me and no one has been to check out my roof. I am very disappointed with the way this company has treated me.

Would not recommend

Absolute joke of a company.

Unfortunately I did not see the trust pilot reviews prior to booking them to have a chimney removed (at their recommendation)I just went off their ‘glowing’ reviews I saw elsewhere. I had three quotes from different roofers, bury roofing were middle of the range so I went with them.

They came out quickly, that’s where the positives end.

The roofer was throwing the bricks from the chimney over our back yard into the back of the truck, no regards for safety or potential damage to overhead wires. These should have been manually carried down or a chute used as there were two people working. I was absolutely mortified when I discovered what was being done. I asked why they were throwing the bricks, got looked at like I was stupid! Next door neighbours came out to see what was happening due to the noise. I have video evidence of the brick throwing!

The roofers completed the job, around a week later I noticed a slate may have dropped. In all fairness the roofer came back and rectified it.

Recently, due to the bad weather, our dining room is saturated with water. So I’m presuming since the chimney was removed the problem was coming from the roof again. I called ‘Phil’ to ask if someone could come around take a look. He sounded very stressed trying to get around to do quotes and said he would call me on Monday. Sorry, but I feel gaining new business taking priority over a concerned existing customer is pretty poor. To this day I am still waiting for that phone call. During this telephone call Phil advised that my existing problem wasn’t just the chimney!! Why did they remove the chimney then if this wasn’t the only issue?? I said this on the telephone call, and Phil put the phone down on me.

I would not recommend this company at all. All nicey nicey when trying to get your business, don’t want to know when you have a problem. They even ask that you don’t leave negative reviews, and give them the chance to rectify any problems before doing so. Hence the reason for this negative review.

My 1970,s Semi required a full roof…

My 1970,s Semi required a full roof replacement, after contacting numerous local companies all giving very similar quotes I decided to proceed with Bury Roofing, and Im so glad I did, from day one excellent communications from Phil and Curt primarily due to numerous demands made by the solar panel company before they would attend and remove their solar panels, these demands where quickly acted on by the roofing team. On the start date the lads turned up promptly as advised and a special mention to Levi and Declan who where polite, efficient and very professional. The re roof was started and promptly completed exactly as described, all waste was quickly removed, driveway and work areas cleaned at the end of every day, the lads even cleaned and refitted all the gutters and at short notice ( oversight on my part) they agreed to stop work while I collected a vented tile that I wanted fitting at the last moment to connect to a future shower cubical extractor. Today a few days after the job was completed I entered my loft space only to find that extra insulation had been added to the whole roof space that I wasn't aware of, when I text Curt why this was he stated that it was part of the job to ensure it meets regulation !!!! Nice surprise, warmer house!! Again I would like to thank all involved and would recommend Curt and his team to anyone needing roofing work, Thanks Guys.

Glenwood Drive Resident

09-01-2025

They have just completed a full roof repair Glenwood Drive Middleton Manchester.

Threw all the tiles from the top of the roof into a skip outside of the garden, disregarding peoples safety missing the skip dozens of times, roof tiles smashing all over the walkway and road
People walking passed with dogs, drivers going passed in their cars to add to that two of the so called roofers take the liberty to piss against the skip in day light stay well away from these cowboys

Useless

Useless. They didn't even respond to my enquiry email sent a fortnight ago, whereas other businesses such as Your Local Roofer in Little Lever did.

Highly recommended!

Excellent job fitting my detached property with a new roof, facia, guttering and down spouting. A very efficient hard-working team of three completed in under three days in mixed weather. Highly recommended!

Absolutely fantastic

Absolutely fantastic, turned a house into a home.

Job
My house is 3 story with a dormer. The look and improvement is fantastic. It doesn't look the same home. I appreciate it was a difficult job due access hence the requirement for scaffoldin, the roof required a full re roof and insulation. The cladding on the dormer was perfectly colour matched with my grey door doors on the home.

The price was brilliant for the quality of the job they had done. I have used other roofers before and I will always use bury roofers now. A step ahead both in quality and value for money

I haven’t a clue if they are good or not!

I can only say I really don’t know whether these people are good or not! I contacted them several times and several times they said they would come down and have a look in order to quote. They came down once, and didn’t give a written quote even after ringing again twice. This was a £35k job, which they obviously didn’t want!

Highly recommend Bury Roofing

Bury Roofing did everything right from start to finish for my household. They worked so hard, often in atrocious weather, completed the work on time and to budget, and left the site probably tidier than they found it! Everyone had a great attention to detail, and overall I'm delighted with the outcome. Would recommend the firm 100%, for all your roofing needs.

This company are so careless and have no discipline.

This company are so careless. They throw slates and debris on the neighbours cars and into their drive ways and garden and everywhere and do not clean up. They have tron debris on my car whilst doing the next door's roof causing dents and scratches. If you complain they break the slates on your roof and cause even more damage.

Bury roofing worked on a rental…

Bury roofing worked on a rental property next door to me and caused lots of damage to my roof! Rude workers, careless and costly for me as slates have now blown off in the wind as the ridge tiles they removed are not properly fixed. Avoid!!

avoid this company

used this company to reroof my property & insulate my conservatory. Flat roofs have thinner rubber than quoted for with loads of bubbles .Plastic cladding on side of dormer badly fitted.Insulation in loft ? can see bare plaster board everyware.Bricks on chimney, not replaced as promised ,just bogged up with morter.Tiles on roof badly handled ,corners chipped &paint scuffed. When you point problems out you just get verbaly abused and the phone slammed down on you.Saving up to get it put right.

Poor, disappointed

Spent just short of £5k a month ago having roof, soffits, fascia, gutters replaced. A few minor issues, being soffits didn't line up with roof tiles and were about 30 cm too short- now rectified. Workers urinated on the wall down the side of house. Debris swept onto my single storey old roof and into the existing gutters ... Which I emptied and cleared.
Boards not placed under skip as per contract, so block paving driveway now scratched, which is a bigger issue. When I spoke to the roofing company about this I was told I ‘had been trouble throughout the job and they would not be getting involved’. Disappointing to say the least. Hence, I do not recommend this company.

Reply from Bury Roofing & Building Services

Apologies for the delay in responding this review has only just been brought to our attention. Sorry to hear that you were disappointed with our services. As mentioned the minor issues were rectified promptly and to your satisfaction.

At no point did you report to us that members of our team were urinating on your property, therefore we are shocked at this revelation and can assure you we haven't had any complaints of that manner previously and this behaviour is something that we simply would not tolerate.

"Debris swept onto my single storey old roof and into the existing gutters ... Which I emptied and cleared." We were midway through the job and so clearing up of the site hadn't commenced but as stated a member of our team saw that you were up a ladder clearing it yourself. We asked you to come down and informed you that we would be clearing up the whole site on completion of the works, which we did.

Regarding the scratched driveway we informed you at the time that it was the skip hire company that had caused the damage and therefore they were responsible for repairing it as they are subcontracted by Bury roofing and not directly employed by us and therefore carry their own insurance. We passed their direct contact details on to you and we gave them your contact details so that the issue could be resolved.

Once again we are sorry to hear you were disappointed with our services and we thank you for your custom.

Many thanks

Contacted this company end of July 2018…

Contacted this company end of July 2018 to effect a Roof Repair, agreed a quotation for specified work to be carried out by email. By the 28-9-2018 work still not carried out and they amended and INCREASED their quotation price verbally, ( stating more work was required than initially thought after an inspection by different workmen was carried out from the owner who first inspected the job required) which I agreed by telephone. But they then kept me waiting a further 2 months with continuing damage being done during the period of waiting every time it rained until I advised them I could not wait any longer today by text message. During the whole period spoke with both the owner Curt Haslam and his Contracts manager who initially just strung me along promising it would be done in a couple of weeks as they were extremely busy, but culminating in telling me that most roofers would run a mile to fix this small messy job, obviously they had bigger fish to fry.

What an abysmal way to treat any customer, especially a firm who boast they are registered with the 'Competent Roofer Scheme' and claim to work with the Local Authority in the prevention of Cowboy Roofers.

Beware of their WebSite which looks inviting, but remember it is not always agood idea to JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER!

BAD EXPERIENCE!
