Just returned from biking trip to Tuscany. Allesio is the template for an experienced, compassionate, empathetic guide. He and our co-guide Stefano, who is youth personified, took care of every situation. No matter how simple or complicated. Together, they anticipated our every need.

This was our third B&R trip and we are never disappointed. Berlin to Prague was an awesome trip. Great guides, food, and hotels. Would highly recommend B&R.

Biking in Switzerland is genuinely delightful. Doing the trip on an e-bike is absolutely wonderful. But, doing an e-bike trip to Switzerland with Butterfield and Robinson is simply extraordinary.

This was by far my best bike trip. The attention to detail was amazing. It was a great immersion in the culture and you felt very warm and welcome. I always say treat others as you would like to be treated. Butterfield & Robinson treated us better!

This year our trip took us from Vienna and Budapest. Our first visit to either country and B&R made it spectacular. Cycling on mostly dedicated paved bike trails though vineyards and sunflower fields. Interesting and beautiful hotels. Food that was to die for. Extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful guides able to adapt to changes on the fly. A week spent with like minded people. All of the components for a great vacation with memories to last a lifetime.

We just completed a biking and hiking trip through Slovenia, italy and Croatia. I have never experienced the level of service and accommodations that we had with B& R, and I am now spoiled! Our guide, Meja, and driver, Marco, were local people, and therefore had a lot of first hand knowledge and experience with the area. They took care of us and everything to where we truly had no worries throughout the trip. They were always so accommodating and communicative, and it was like traveling with family-only better! This was truly a vacation!! We were able to experience the beauty and wonder of the Slovenian mountains, the vineyards and wine country, and then the Adriatic Sea on the Istrian Peninsula, all within 6 days! We never felt rushed, and we did not have to spend too much time in a van or car. In addition we met up with interesting, local mountain hut managers, bee keepers, olive and fruit growers, truffle "hunters", and so much more. At times we felt like the only "tourists" with the local experiences and this was special. We even had a private tour of an underground cave that was spectacular. Thank you B&R for these wonderful experiences, and now memories, and you have won a place in our hearts forever.

We loved every minute of our trip to Slovenia and Croatia. The guide and driver were extremely friendly, helpful and organized. The special events were terrific and surprising. The e-bikes were great as well as accommodations and meals. It was outstanding!

We just completed our 3rd trip with B&R and we can't wait for the next one. We went as a couple on a guided biking trip with a group (Puglia), a self-guided hiking trip with our teenage kids (France), and a self-guided biking trip with our teenage kids (Prague to Vienna). We always feel well-prepared and well-taken care of. The hotels are lovely and full of character. The food is delicious. The activities are varied and every trip I find myself doing or seeing something that I never would've found on my own. I can't recommend them enough.

We have just returned from biking in Denmark. Beautiful ❤️ We started and ended in Copenhagen. Loved the beautiful fields, wildflowers, towns and castles. B&R set up interesting stops along the way to see and hear from local artists and artesian. Having an E-Bike took the pressure off any hills and made for a very pleasant ride through the fields. You could appreciate - not pant your way to the next stop. Our hotels were excellent and the group that came together from all over the US and Canada were all fascinating people. Our guides were lovely and responsive to our needs. Giorgia rushed us from Kronborg Castle to make our massage appointment and Chris and Sjoerd brought our bikes ! Pretty lush terrain and cool sunny nights, great bikes, wonderful conversations and meals and elegant accommodations. Do make plans to stay in Copenhagen before or after. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Seine River combined ship/cycling trip was our second activity with B & R. The former (Dordogne, France) was excellent in every category. Our June 2019 Seine River Cruise suffered mainly due to the ship experience which was not under B & R's control. Specifically, the Seine is a narrow river beside busy highways, railways and manufacturing operations. It was mostly pleasant countryside but the noise from along the shore and on the water from the lock system and barges was frequently awful at night requiring us to close the cabin windows and sealing ourselves into an air-conditioned environment which we do not enjoy. On our last night we were moored immediately beside a bar scene with hundreds of young people yelling and screaming late into the night along with loud crowd music. The ship food was not of the high quality nor variety that we have had on other ships although the wines chosen by our B & R guide Laura were excellent. Laura is an amazing guide and her support guide Margot was similar in dedication. The cycling part of the trip did not always meet pre-trip advertising; e.g. the so-called cycle path on the last full day was not used because it had yet to be completed. Also, on the last full day there was city cycling that was so scary we (and some others) walked our bikes. But overall our guides ensured that we were safe and could enjoy the gorgeous country surroundings. Normandy was especially delightful where we biked through peaceful farm settings on very quiet roads. It is our opinion that B & R should not combine cycling with a Seine cruise.

Went to the Dolomites with B&R and it was phenomenal! This was my first B&R trip and will definitely not be my last. Everything was fantastic from our guides - Luca and Alex- to the level of planning, accommodations and hikes. I traveled solo and loved it. I can’t wait to do it again. Our group was amazing.

We now used B&R for two EPIC vacations. Can’t speak highly enough about the professionalism, attention to detail, and just the overall ability to unwind and not worry about a thing because they’ve got it all covered. Every person we have interacted with from B&R has been kind, considerate and professional. Thumbs up folks!

Great guides with fun facts and stories about their ireland. Made you forget the weather. Countryside varied frim bogs to seaside beaches and cliffs. All beautiful and spectacular

We cannot say enough about our guide. Finding activities that appeal and are appropriate for a family traveling with someone as young as 10 and someone as mature as 75 is no small feat. Everyone loved the variety and John was so accommodating and flexible.

Our guides with Butterfield & Robinson went out of their way to make our every wish come true and anticipated our needs at every turn of our journey. It was a wonderful adventure and we are hoping to take another trip with them in 2020.

Spectacular experience! Engaged guides, well curated ride routes, wine tastings, meals, and events in Special hotels and venues. An incredible way to experience a regions culture and history.

My husband and I just got back from our first B&R trip and we are already planning our next one! We are hooked. We loved our guides, Laura, Sjoerd and Mario. They made the trip for us. Everything was taken care of and we were able to relax and enjoy every moment. The bikes were great, the routes were stunning and the planned stops were such a treat. We loved getting to know new people as well as spend quality time with one another and in nature, along the beautiful Rhine River. Everything exceeded our expectations and we are customers for life.

This was my first B&R trip and it was amazing. The friendly and helpful guides, Roberto and Rafael, had in depth knowledge of the region, its history, food and wine. The accommodations and meals were as extraordinary as the scenery. You won't find lunch spots like this on your own! Some of the hills were more challenging than I expected but I liked that. If you're not confident in your abilities you might want an e-bike on this route. If you don't want to use an e-bike and normally ride a hybrid, consider getting a road bike because the lower weight will help you on the hills. We had a good group and the route was designed so that those who didn't want to ride as much could stop at lunch while others continued cycling. This balance worked well and accommodated all types of cyclists. Now I just want to go back and walk the Camino!

B&R took care of every detail of our cycling tour of Burgundy and when something wasn't included...such as flights or additional meals, they had excellent suggestions or advice. The accommodation, meals, tours and cycling equipment were top notch. The trip is expensive but if you want a no worry, everything taken care of luxury vacation, you won't be disappointed. I have now been on 3 B&R trips (two bike and one walk). They do a great job making the trip fun for all levels of activity. The hard core get their experiences and those of us who want activity but not too much challenge also are able to have a nice time (without hindering others). The guides have always been knowledgeable and extremely attentive. While the food and drink are incredible, the exercise has (mostly) offset the weight gain that often results from travel. I highly recommend B&R for those who want body and brain stimulation.
