Signed up for a free trial. Could not cancel so they ended up robbing me of £60. They now say I'm liable for another £40 and they are going to set a recovery firm on me - AVOID. We need to stop pay pal and banks excepting auto renewal without contacting the customer. This has happened numerous times and when you complain to the bank or paypal they are never on your side. We need to improve the distance selling rules for these sites and if you don't use the service it should not auto renew

Do not use this company...its a way to extract money from you legally...the biggest con going...please stay away from this site

Biggest scam known to man. Cancel button wouldnt work ( how convenient), numerous attempts made to contact and cancel subscription and was ignored, ended up cancelling through my bank as they kept trying to tske money out. This is a fraudulent company!!. They're now sending me threatening letters about moneys owed. Avoid at all costs

Just like the other reviews here I support the low score. Special designed dating site to scam. Just received bill on 4.200 D Kroner although I wrote directly to this bluff 7 months ago to cancel "premium subscription". And I haven't received messages from members in months.

Absolutely shocking, my details were used fraudulently to register with this site. I've been hounded by their solicitors based in Frankfurt for money on a membership that I didn't take out. I've explained that to the solicitors "Advokat Radoslav Koychev" with documentation from the police but they still pursue the monies. I've been informed by the detectives looking into the case that many cases are ongoing.

And as you can see from the reply below they no concept of what is going on. We have reached out Lisa as soon as I found out this was set up fraudulently with my details so I've no idea what you're talking about about. From the thousand plus reviews it's clear to see that Cdate is a complete scam, irrespective of my individual fraud case others are experiencing with their catch trading sales practices designed to make it impossible for its customers to exit subscriptions easily. I would presume that they C-Date and Advokat Radoslav Koychev solicitors work in this scam together. If you read reviews of the solicitors, they're equally bad reviews.

It will be interesting to see the outcome of the police investigations ☺️ and in relation to the trading standards of C-Date and the aggressive approach of Advokat Radoslav Koychev

further to note that the act of knowingly pursuing an individual for a debt which is not owed may constitute a criminal offence under Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970 UK

Warning from a Google Local Guide (Level 7):

My mistake was not reading the reviews before signing up. Just like hundreds of others, I was suddenly a “premium” member without realizing it, and a huge amount was charged from my account. I first thought it was a one-time payment – but the next month the exact same massive charge happened again.

Canceling was a nightmare: login loops, broken forms, and only copy-paste responses from customer service. Only after quoting EU law did they reluctantly agree to stop my subscription. I received written confirmation, but based on other reviews I still expect fake invoices and threats to come.

👉 And before C-Date replies with their usual “it’s easy to cancel via our form” – no, it’s not. That’s exactly where the scam lies.

💀 This is not a dating service. It’s a business model designed to make cancellation as difficult as possible and drain as much money as they can.

As a Local Guide, I strongly warn everyone: stay away.

To cancel you have to input name, surname, email, phone, address, payment method, payment name, type of membership, date purchased, user name, membership number (supposedly on profile but couldn't find it).
Any other site it's email and password.
Scam avoid - wish I'd checked reviews first.

Impossible to unsubscribe and if you loose your login password then this too will hinder any progress to close your account and stop future subscription funds being taken.
Terrible website that just seems to be a front. Blatantly dishonest people running a money grabbing scam.

Honestly the biggest scam, could not cancel the subscription the way I was asked and had already cancelled through App Store only to receive a debt letter for £254.91, avoid at all costs

For those who find it near impossible cancel their C-Date membership. I finally managed to do it this morning and have received an email notification from them stating my cancelation.
For ease Open C date on 2 windows on the computer, Log into C date on one but DO NOT log into the other open window. In the Logged into window go to profile settings so you can see all your information including date joined. Now go over to the window where it is the Homepage (do not log in as the cancelation link can only be found before you log in, at the bottom right of the homepage) Click cancel subscription and it will open a link for you to add your details. Click I am not a robot at the bottom and click send. You should receive an email notification from them within seconds.
What ever you do DO NOT ADD YOUR DETAILS AND PASSWORD AT THE TOP OF THE CANCELATION FORM AS IT WILL LOG YOU IN AND WILL DELETE ALL YOU HAVE FILLED IN. I learned this by my mistake.

I’ve had a letter today from company in Germany saying I owe you 96,04 euros, I’ve never even heard of your site in till today, I’m absolutely fuming with this situation that you have put me in, I’ve been in contact with citizens advice and they have reported you to trading standards. I’ve tried logging into your website but as I didn’t set it up I don’t have any login details password. You better get this sorted out before I take it further. I’ve been reading all your reviews and your responses so please don’t tell me it’s clear how to cancel as IVE NEVER BEEN ON YOUR WEBSITE.

Horrible people I paid for a one months subscription only to try it , it was absolute garbage, tried my hardest to cancel. Sent emails tried everything to contact them it's like they purposely ignored me. Sending letters from debt collectors now, I will see them in court

Terrible Site and so hard to do anything properly on it. Tried to cancel my subscription and account and then apparently I have made another which I don't have any confirmation email of at all.

Now recieving emails about overdue payments and a collection fee of £250. Even when I did try paying it, my bank wouldn't allow it as they think it's a scam. They don't answer the phone and reply to emails very slowly. Don't recommend at all as most accounts are bots. Useless and dreadful website. Will be contact Luxembourg authorities as it's disgraceful.

Do NOT sign up for thos website. Lots of dangerous scammers. The website is impossible to unsubscribe from. Then they harass you for unpaid subscriptions.

I cancelled my subscription in March 2024 via the iOS App Store, assuming it was sufficient, as is standard for all other Apple-based subscriptions. C-Date ignored this and claimed I had to cancel separately through their hidden internal form — something never clearly mentioned during sign-up or in the iOS cancellation interface.

As a result, I was charged €578.52, despite hardly using the service at all. I emailed several times to explain the situation and request a refund, but received no response.

To make matters worse, they charged me again for another month I never intended to use, plus an additional late fee (Mahngebühr). Even after I requested account deletion under GDPR, they continued sending demands.

This company’s business model is based on deliberate confusion, hidden conditions, and ignoring cancellations to lock people into costly renewals. Now they're threatening with collection agencies.

This is not a legitimate dating platform — it’s a well-designed scam. Stay away!

I joined for one month about 14 days ago.
The experience is totally negative.
After a week, I decided to end the Auto Renewal of the subscription. To say that this process is near impossible is an understatement.
It took me an hour to get round it. They have designed a complicated process in which they may include bots
put there to hinder the process.
Eventually, when you get to the right page, you have to find and type in a code of dozens of symbols, rather like a modem pass code but 5 times longer. It's a challenge.
So I did eventually get confirmation that I had terminated my subs.
Subsequently,
I did see a really gorgeous woman stand out like an oasis amongst the few other ladies who, to be polite, are visually, mostly undesirable, and started some dialogue.
I have always said with online dating, that if you are " punching above your weight", then it's a scam /fake profile. After a few days of chat, it was obvious that the replies were not coming from an "English Rose" in the UK but from probably a sinister male somewhere overseas. I told the woman that my subs were ending, and "she" said go on Telegram to continue the talk.
Whoever, this person was, it wasn't someone with the images and profile given on C DATE.
I informed Cdate and the profile is still there. Say No More !!!

BIGGEST FRAUD I HAVE ENCOUNTERED. EVEN AFTER ASKING THEM MULTIPLE TIMES TO CANCEL THEY STILL ARE SENDING NE NEW PAYMENT REMINDERS and GIVING THREATS OF DEBT COLLECTION. I WILL TAJE THEM TO COURT FOR HARASSMENT AND FRAUD IF THEY DONT STOP THIS IMMIDIATELY.

You get the first messages from what is presumably a bot during your registration process. The pricing is highly confusing (they state a price of 24.99€ for four weeks but then want to charge you that amount PER WEEK, or they pretend they are charging per month and then explain in their T&Cs that they calculate a month so that I'ts almost never a full calendar month).
A business model based completely on shady business practices.

These fools keep sending me emails threatening me with legal action but they can suck my D!
Scam company, generic emails, never answer the phone when I call to tell them to F*** off either.
