Incredibly poor investment decisions

Incredibly poor investment decisions. Use smoke and mirrors to hide their mistakes. Avoid Avoid Avoid. At a time when a lot of EIS funds are making money, Calculus have made absolutely awful decisions. They define failed investments as Exits and are totally clandestine about fees. They also make it very hard to remove any cash and overall communication is poor.

Terrible Investments - self serving management

I invested primarily in 2015 quite a substantial sum - other investments in EIS in different companies and have grown very well. My mistake was to invest in both Calculus' EIS vehicle and the VC vehicle. Extremely poor investment decisions made by a team that seemed unable to coordinate an investment strategy or to select any significant winners. I even told them in advance of one investment not to make it a was clear even to a child that the firm was not viable- it ended up losing 100% as did far too many of their selections. Now 10 years later they still have not sold out of all the investments although that which remains are weak investments and in poor financial position.

Avoid

Similar to other comments on here. Probably the worst financial scheme you could ever invest in. Fund 12, has been tied up for over 13 years since the initial
investment and has lost over 80% of its initial value. If you’re considering this for inheritance tax purposes, it would be cheaper and less headache to just pay the tax. Avoid at all costs, an expensive and life lesson, I wish never to repeat.

Avoid this EIS fund manager at all costs

Said to be one of the first EIS fund managers. I certainly hope that they are not representative of the sector. Absolutely abysmal investment performance of EIS Fund 16 has resulted in huge losses to investors. And they have shown no signs of being embarrassed by it. Avoid!
